    First of all, youre an absolute maniac for carrying those 2 big car notes! Im saying that as a compliment. Im glad you were able to unload them both around the same time. That must feel great!

    It's not leveling out ,the party is just getting started to get great deals on cars. Lamborghini Diablo's were selling for $80k in 2008. Just remember that for the next 2 years. I bought a car every year from 2005-2008, then bought a house in 2010, then picked up buying a car every year from 2011-2016. Haven't bought anything outright since 2019.

    The market didn’t “change”. What happened is that dealers will call other dealers that sell new versions of the cars they are looking at taking in and they will ask those dealers for what is known as a buy figure. Basically the number that say a new car Dodge dealer would pay to take that off their hands right now. And that buy figure is usually what they give you. Now here’s what happened. If you were shopping it to other local dealers, they likely called that same Jeep dealer and asked for a buy figure. When they realized that you were shopping it around, they didn’t want to cut their own nuts off so they lowered it to what they were offering other dealers as buy figures. So basically fucked yourself by taking it around and shopping it. Dealers talk and see when people do this.

      Same thing happened with me. Just wait until the do a “pre-purchase inspection.” They’re going to make a list with questionable service / parts “required” and will lower their price even more. Common psychology technique. The more time you commit the more you’re likely to give in to their tactics.

    I'm not sure if it is different in Australia but a C8 will mainly be picked up by those with excess funds (semi-retired, access to superannuation, empty nesters etc.). I was a cash buyer for my 6th Gen Camaro, and it would be the same if I was to buy a C8 but the wait time is 4-5 years and they have jacked the price up locally to the point that I am happy to stay with the Camaro! Normally any new car will cost you once driven out of the dealership, and you should never expect to get it all back even though COVID created some short-term shortage on all cars. Fortunately, the Camaros in Australia have appreciated in value as they only imported around 1650 of them before stopping in early 2020!

    Question - how do you refund the warranty?

    • @MarkBrenner
      @MarkBrenner  10 месяцев назад

      Contact the 3rd party you purchased the extended warranty from. If you bought it through the dealership they should have provided you a pamphlet, otherwise juat contact them and ask who the warranty provider is. Don’t cancel it through the dealership though because most often times they will take they’re sweet time getting around to it so they don’t get any charge backs for canceling it too soon. They make commissions on it

    HINT: You should never pay over 10% of your gross income for a vehicle payment, so at $54 per day($1620 for 30 days or $19,440 a year ) the Vette cost you, means you needed to make at least $540 per day to afford to own that car. Think you should invest in some money management classes.....
