    Its obvious this was made after ADA. I used to hang out with a girl who had a lower spine injury from a vehicle accident back in the mid 1980s. I would go along with her to move her wheelchair past obstacles in many places she wanted to go but without someone with her, she could not. A live music venue she liked had 3 steps going into it and no accessible entrance. Older college/university campus buildings had similar issues.
    Some adaptive equipment was around then, which enabled her to drive and be more independent.
    Hanging out with her taught me about what life is like with paraplegia.

    What about those courses with placements (eg. in Healthcare)? I am in England and worried about getting rejected because nobody will want to give me a placement with disability.

      there is always someone to talk to about those sectors, check online via your college/uni placement
