Your connection to our people makes me understand that we (Indigenous people) all are ONE ❤❤❤
This waiata (song) was inspired by the events of Te Ranga in 1864 where British Soldiers massacred and slaughtered 120 māori women, children and men as revenge for losing a fair battle at Pukehinahina 2 months earlier to the māori. Such a beautiful response and reminder to something so awful that happened to our people.
So powerful at the end. Every Maori on this earth has that ferociousness inside of them. It is our ancestors speaking from our DNA. 😊
Absolutely amazing
Amene! Everytime I hear this waiata I cant help but join in with the same ferociousness
I’m so glad you loved this bro. ❤ thank you for your part in sharing our culture and our Taonga ( treasure/ gift) to the world.. Proud to be Māori 🙌🏾
Thank you For Watching with me!!!
mauri ora brother....kia kaha te reo maaori
Kiaora Jaybee, I'm guessing you felt your own ancestors. That is so beautiful. Don't be scared, they love you. If you don't know many of them, they definitely know you. Peace to you from Aotearoa.😊
Honesty i cried especialy the last part. The fire will never be extinguished, it is a fire that burn so bright it will consume the darkness of night. Atleast thats my translation lol. And woth the trying time we as Māori are having right now it is a becon of strength. I absolutely Love what you do to connect people through music and in so doing sharing our cultures, our history and our stories. Thank you so much truly apreciate you and how much you do.
I loved your reaction to this.... This whole performance always leaves me refreshed.... It's so powerful, soul touching and beautiful. You absolutely connected with Tupuna (Ancestors). Can you imagine actually being in that audience and feeling the power in that room? 💖💖💖
Thank you so much !!! If I was in that room I woulda fell out lol !! When I say I was getting the shivers !!! I felt overwhelmed a bit lol
@@SpillingTeaWithJayBee Even your wee kitty was drawn to it. Cutie Cutie💖💖💖
@@user-gz1si6np3f yes !!!! 😂😂😂😩
Outstanding. Teeks is a superstar but so humble. He stands alongside the amazing choir and orchestra rather than needing to stand in front of them. It touches my soul. Ataahua ❤
Oh my God i dont know what was said but the spirit of our ancestors felt like they were, present oh my God
Kia Ora I love your reactions to our Maori Culture. No matter how often I listen to this waiata I have a tangi/cry. 💕💕💕
It's algood, it ain't about how pronounce anything, it's how you feel about it and you always show feeling and understanding ❤❤❤
So wild man goosebumps
Our Tupuna
Present
Ataahua
Moved me to tears
Please come to New Zealand, you can stay with us 🎉
Really powerful & and sad, the recognition of the extinction of one's race I'm so grateful that you survived the British invasion & enslavement. The power you feel is the ancestors of the fallen this is Māori & is real and this is New Zealand.
Dayummmm
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Come over and experience it you'll find a way and I bet a lot of us will open our house and hearts to you wen you come
