There is another Australian brand called Baxter they have a boot called Goulburn still made in the town but everything else is made overseas.

Yes I've looked at them but couldn't see a reason over RM. Especially since they've not focused on local, which is my preference, clearly lol 😆

Of course it matters who owns RM Williams. I remember when Doc Martins sold out, manufacturing was moved overseas and quality went down the gurgler.

Yes absolutely. What a sad time it is when that happens. Docs aren't the only example either

As someone from Adelaide where RMs are made, it is definitely sad to see the future of the brand so far where the prices are skyrocketing but quality decreasing. Design wise it also rests on its laurels with the comfort craftsman. I love RMs and would be sad for it to continue to deteriorate.

Well said, and completely agree. Hopefully things improve from here, somehow. Good point with the designs too.

@@jessupsays I hope so too! I think RM gets a bit complacent with the men's line given it's such a classic haha and you'd find a brown comfort craftsman everywhere you turn. The women's line is at least diversified more. I'd love to see more design and flair with the men's. :)
I had a few pairs of RMs that were made in Portugal that were different designs but the quality just weren't the same as the made in Australia ones!

Yeah that's a fair comment. And recently even the women's stuff has gone back to basics. Honestly I'm happy if they focus on the core line and getting it as good as possible. That would be a win in itself
