This is the best video ever! I will watch it 10 more times until I've mastered sketching! I'm new to crafting, and my silhouette, but I am loving getting to use all the features of my cameo 3. Also , Kelly has the most soothing voice ever! It really is perfect for following along without getting lost or frustrated! Thank you!!!
Lovely, clear instructions. I’ve just upgraded to a cameo 4 and didn’t know you could put different material in a cutting mat. I’ve learned so much, thank you.
I am a beginner with Cameo. This was extremely helpful and beneficial. I have watched 15-20 hrs of RUclips to comprehend this machine. This was superb for me to understand how to use the sketch pens. On another RUclips it suggested to use a casing around the Sketch Pen. But I noticed you didn't use a casing around the Sketch Pen. You placed the Sketch pen directly in the casing. It didn't appear you had to place anything around the pen. Right? Mary Mmx
Very informative video, thank you. I wonder why Silhouette decided to change the tool holder for the cameo 4, being able to use pens in both seemed like a great idea 🤷♀️ I’m really close to swapping to a Silhouette, need to stop watching videos and torturing myself 😂
I tried to order the silhouette pen holder for cameo 3 but the one that looks like what you are using says it is for the Cameo 4, can you please help me find the right one?
Yes, you can do wedding invitations with the sketch pens. You can use any font installed on your computer, but the single-line sketch fonts can be used as-is. Regular fonts leave open space when sketching them and only outline the letters by default. Take a look at this tutorial for help with filling regular fonts with sketch pens. www.silhouette101.com/archives/how-to-create-sketch-pen-fills
We do not at this time. With the Cameo 4 you will only use a sketch pen in the left carriage. If you want to switch pen colors or switch to a blade, you can use pauses after each line action. It would be the same if you were using a Portrait or older Cameo with only one tool holder. Specific to the Cameo 4: make sure you use the updated sketch pens (black body) with the blue sketch-pen adapter, and make sure you set your tools specifically for cut or sketch (not auto detection) when sketching with pauses.
Sketch pens do not fit carriage 2 in the Cameo 4. They do fit carriage 2 in the Cameo 3. In the Cameo 4, you treat sketch pens the same as with single-carriage machines like the Portrait and older Cameo models and use them only in the left carriage. With the Cameo 4 you need to use the updated sketch pen style (black body) in the blue sketch-pen adapter.
I wish they would put the same amount of effort into starting a customer service department. All you current customers know what I'm talking about...... There is none. You have an issue with your machine? Don't bother calling because you can't. Oh then lets email them...... Lol, canned response after canned response until you just go away. I warn EVERYONE that's in the market for a vinyl cutter to buy anything else before you buy a Cameo. At least if you buy an overpriced Cricut you can go to the store and buy every part or accy Cricut makes. Try going back to the store where you bought the Cameo..... Lol, Here's Joann's inventory at any given store, 1 - Cameo, 1 - Cameo Pro, 1 - Autoblade, One each of the cutting mats. Then look at the 25 feet of Cricut stuff.

Good job making this work w/prior machines. I dislike when you don't make things work in prior machines.

What type of patterned paper did you use for your sketching?
What type of roller glue did you use?
I believe I used Ad Tech Permanent Crafter's Tape in this video.
Do you have a similar video for the Cameo 4 including settings in the send panel?

Where do you get the actual cards to paste the designs to. Do you make them in Silhouette?
Yes she does. Use card stock and cut the size you want.
do the sketch pens fit the carriage 2? None of the adapters fit #2 for sketch pens.
