    I have the C3 Marin. What u said about opening the bag compartment without changing the bag, loosens the secure bag and now the dirt will empty into the compartment instead of the bag. THANK YOU! Now, I understand exactly what happened to me. I opened the bag compartment after a few separate vacuum cleanings and the inside was clean. The next time I opened it to check, it was full of dust and pet fur. Even an almond I vacuumed up was in the compartment and not the bag. Relieved to know my $1000.00 machine is okay. Thanks again.

      Thanks a lot, your comment was very helpful, because I tried to find the answer about leaking for some hours in the whole russian and english internet and you were the first person why explained how to solve this problem.

    I've been using Miele canister vacuums for 20+ years, and was recently shocked to see the inside of my vacuum filled with dust and dirt. What you have explained here, how the bag un-clips itself when opening the lid, looks like a design problem. Fortunately I checked the inside of my vacuum by chance, so hopefully my motor is not damaged, but the vacuum ran for a month with an improperly seated bag blowing dust into the internal compartment. My HEPA filter now probably has a reduced lifespan also. Unfortunately, now when opening the lid I also remove the hose, and stick my fingers into the hole to double-check the lid and bag are seated properly. Never had to do this with my prior "basic" Miele canister vacuum.

    Thank you so much for this explanation. So very frustrating after spending so much money and have this issue happen over and over again. Now I understand and hope it won't happen again.

    Thanks very much. Opening and having to re seat the bag explains why my vacuum is full of dust rather than the bag. Thanks for taking the time to explain

    Yes I have. Thanks for the bag allignment idea. I spent yesterday taking it ALL apart down to the motor being out I cleaned everything. Not easy.

    I can't believe it. This issue was just because the bag moves when I open the compartment to check if it's moved! Thank you so much for this video. I never would have worked this out on my own

    I had this problem, all the dust was outside my bag 😮and I had to clean it up . I made a mistake by unfolding the new bag ! I bought the bags from Amazon and it felt cheap with Miele printed on the box .

    Something not mentioned that can happen is the bag holders arms that stick out to the sides can get pushed under the tabs. Then the bag wont seal correctly. Ensure the blue side arms are sitting above the tabs left and right as they can get pushed under the tabs on the vacuums body.

    • @stephengarrison9572
      @stephengarrison9572 Год назад +1

      This was our problem as well. Although the bag was installed correctly, at some point the bag holder arms got forced beneath the tabs on which the arms are supposed to rest, and the compartment filled with dog hair as soon as the machine was turned on. Once we lifted the bag holder to its proper position above the tabs… no more problem.

    • @UchennaNgwe
      @UchennaNgwe 4 месяца назад

      And the way sits under the tabs so easily makes you second guess yourself about where they should be positioned

    • @neilfrasersmith
      @neilfrasersmith 2 месяца назад

      This was exactly my problem as well. It looks like the 'wings' are supposed to go under the tabs on the sides but that is not correct. The wings sit on top of the tabs and the spring action upon them is what forces the seal when the lid is closed. It your wings are under the tabs the seal cannot form and you will have dirt being sucked into the compartment.

    Our bag is clipped in fine but twice now it has filled the compartment with dust anyway. Miele C3 Complete and the Hyclean 3D bags that were recommended. Any tips appreciated!

  • @DavidShanahan-u1c

    Thanks so much! This is the issue- the new C3's have a 'feature' that pops the bag out of alignment when you open the lid. If you dont pop it back down... you have a MESS.

    Good video! Also, anyone who is reading this, don't be afraid to use the generic HEPA Cloth dust bags. Other videos on here will warn against them, but I personally have used both the genuine and generic Miele GN bags, and have yet to see a vacuum bag leak dust into the bag compartment when correctly used and installed properly. In fact, though, I have seen the issue in this video COUNTLESS TIMES over the years whenever I have helped someone out....and it happens with both the genuine and generic bags.

    • @namzbecca
      @namzbecca Год назад

      I've been using generic as well and have been fine until recently. The dirt is now leaking into the canister. I hope it's user error (I delegated the vacuuming to another person lol). Mind sharing which bags you use please?

    • @robwalton2007
      @robwalton2007 Год назад +1

      @@namzbecca I use generic bags that have the blue collar with the white silicone seal. Same as the ones shown in the video.

    • @David-vx5tk
      @David-vx5tk Год назад +1

      Using generic bags reduces performance and filtration genuine bags are 9 layers knockoffs are nowhere near that

    • @robwalton2007
      @robwalton2007 Год назад +2

      @@David-vx5tkNo, the generic bags DO NOT reduce filtration! The 5 layer generic bags hold the fine dust in just as well as the genuine bags. The only time you see dust leakage is when the bag collar isn't seated properly in the bag holder, or there is damage to the silicone seal. In all my years of using generic bags, I have yet to find 1, WHEN USED PROPERLY, that leaks dust more than the genuine Miele AirClean 9 layer bags. If you're a allergy sufferer and worried about dust leakage from the bags, you're probably better off buying a generic HEPA filter to use with the generic bags instead of switching to the genuine bags and using the cloth AirClean exhaust filter - a exhaust HEPA filter, whether genuine or generic, will capture the ultra-fine dust and particulate THAT ESCAPES FROM ANY BAG! As for reduced performance? Yes, the genuine bags do allow for the airflow to remain higher as the bag fills. Because of the layers and the way they are constructed, they hold the dust in them in a way that the air still flows freely. Conventional bag material like tye 5 layer bags use, the material will eventually get dust loaded and clog, for sure. However, if you live in a enviroment where you pick up lots of hair or carpet fibres, it's not so bad. Plus, if you take the bag out, give it a good vigorous shake and put it back in, that knocks the dust off the bag walls and restores performance.

    Just bought a new Miele Complete C3 as shown, looked in compartment, bag seemed "Ok". Then did a lot of vacuuming and now my dust compartment is full of dirt & dust! Some in the bag, but much tarnishing the compartment badly. Looking at the video, I think it might have been the problem with opening displacing the bag, as I didn't click the bag back in again. New users don't do what I did! Watch this video carefully, learn everything you can about removing and inserting bag. Vacuum a very small amount, check to see if dirt is contained in bag. Now I'm really miffed, wish I'd gone for another Dyson, which I had for twenty years and had no ptroblems. Now 20 hours with this Miele and here I am - problems already.

    Thanks dude - some very good info. I had a fully filled bag but some had leaked and dust clogged up the pre motor filter. I used a car detailing brush and cordless vacuum to clean out the compartment. There is a black felt pad that covers the honeycomb vent to the outside - does that stay in place? Using a HEPA filter. I know some people have accidentally used HEPA and the white foam filter together.

    • @AceVacuums
      @AceVacuums  2 года назад +3

      Hello and thank you for your comment. Yes, the black felt filter that sits on the cover of the canister always must stay there and be cleaned when changing the other filters. Also, one must never use the white foam filter with the honeycomb HEPA filter as it reduces the air exiting the vacuum and may overheat the motor. Hope this helps.

    I had a different problem. The "wings" of the latch that you put the bag into got pushed into the dust compartment. If you pull that out so they are on the outside of the notches it stops this happening.

    I've triple-checked to see if the bag is installed properly. It is. I then opened the lid to see if the bag was coming loose when I opened it. It is still secure. I took out the hose to see if the hole was aligned with the bag. It is. Yet somehow the debris is still not getting sucked into the bag. Any ideas, anyone? It is a C3 Aliza, BTW.

    When I accidentally suck something into my Miele vacuum and try to retrieve it from the bag in the canister, the blue flap breaks off. I try being really careful, but it still breaks. Can I tape the flap back onto the inside of the bag or just use the bag without the flap ?

    • @AceVacuums
      @AceVacuums  Год назад +1

      The flap is only there to prevent the dirt from escaping when you're changing out the bags. You should be fine without the flap as long as the bag is correctly inserted.
