I confirm what you said about Miele having a very clean bag compartment. My S8 is 5 years old and it has absolutely no dirt in the bag compartment or in the exhaust. These little machines are an incredible piece of engineering, simple, yet very efficient
OMG! I just bought a Compact C2 Electro+ PowerLine and already knew I had to make it worth my investment by buying OEM bags and filters. Thank you for sharing this video. Now I can share it with my family.
Thank you! An excellent and informative video. Very persuasive in terms of ensuring long life by using original Miele spares and following a maintenance regime.
So glad you did this video I make sure i use the right bags, change the filters so my Miele works for a very long time. But i did not know to not use a hepa and another filter together. But thankfully i saw your other video on that. I guess at some point the filter was in the spot where the hepa goes and when the hepa filter was put in presuming by me( I don’t recall) i failed to remove it. My Miele would time to time turn off due to over heating. I had read the manual and knew to check for an obstruction, but the problem was me not knowing to remove the filter. And only use the hepa one or the filter. My guess is i failed to read that part. 🤦♀️
Ps this video was extremely good. This man is right though about just getting the original bags and filters from the company. I had this vacuum for about 3 years and it's the best one I ever bought hands down. I went through alot of crappy vacuums before I found the last one I would buy, the c2. It's sucks up anything in its path
Thank you your video saved my c3 brilliant, I changed the bag yesterday and put those those pressure tabs down so that the bag frame would not seal. Stupid Miele for not putting a damn sticker “caution don’t do this”. Anyway I opened the vacuum after seeing your video and was horrified by what I saw it was a mess like your video from just about an hours worth of use. The instruction manual show pictures and doesn’t even mention the frame needs to float above the bottom part of the vacuum. I spent an hour cleaning the inside of the vacuum because of my mistake. I’ll say this when I changed the bag yesterday the inside of the vacuum was like brand new and this is after several years of use. When I checked the bag this morning after making my mistake it was horrendous.
What I encountered was that stupid plastic thing when you put the bag In. It keep detaching from the base whenever I change the bag and once I put it in the wrong way and the dirt leaked into the compartment. Thank God I had that filter on in the back.
Some people don’t deserve nice things. I have this same machine, the Compact C2 ElectroPlus. I vacuum 1400 square feet daily and the bag lasts a really long time before I need to change it. You should have worn a hazmat suit! 😊
Hi Morris, Yes, there is. We highly recommend you take it to the closest Miele Dealer to do that. Depending on the age of the machine and where you are located, you may void any warranties if you opened up the machine by yourself. So check with a Miele dealer if you can.
@@vacuumwarehouse It's an S246i, so it's many years out of warranty. The nearest authorized service location is almost 100 miles away. The leaking is out of the top of the bag, and started when I ran out of my large supply of bags bought many years ago, and started using a recent purchase or 3M Filtrete bags. I just tried a recent purchase of Miele brand bags, and I still get leaking. These bags seem different from the ones that worked fine. They all have strips of cloth or plastic inside, which causes an obstruction, so maybe some dirt is being bounced back up through the hole. I'm experimenting by removing this stuff from the inside. If that doesn't help, I'll try to find a bag like the ones that worked fine for many years. The motor sounds fine and has plenty of suction.
OMG . Some people are just crazy. I can't even think to not buy GN Bags in my C3. You buy an expensive vacuum and you use cheap bags. I don't get it , are people so stupid? Poor Miele...... and then they write negative reviews and say they don't last.

We have had our Miele for 20 years and it is still in great shape.

Many thanks - sorted the problem with our S8310 where the bracket holding the bag in place was under the two lugs, not above ;-)
This video is about logic and common sense Meile vacuum cleaners are in my opinion the tops designed by people with real brains in their heads.

Is it possible to open up the motor and assess the damage? I couldn't tell if much dirt had gotten into the interior of the motor.

this video made me really sad.
