    In some models you can also use the suction control on the hose handle but having a turbo brush for you low pile carpet and rugs is the best option for those types of things

    This is exactly what I did. I bought the head that is powered by section, but has a brush, the turbo brush, or something like that, and it works perfectly.

    My Miele is a straight suction in fact a Pure Suction. If I was to buy a powernozzle machine it would be a Sebo due to practicality over the long term.

  • @davidperry4013
    @davidperry4013 Год назад +2

    My preference is the electro brush due to the better agitation of a power nozzle over a turbo nozzle and does not chew up the airflow like a turbo nozzle. I don’t mind spending the extra 300 dollars to make sure my carpets are kept clean between steam cleanings.

    With my 4th dyson giving up the ghost, and really not wanting to buy another one, I started researching the hell out of vacuums. In the end, I was going to go with the Sebo D8, but when I called Sebo they said that my particular carpet was best suited to the X7 as the D8 wouldn't work on my extremely dense carpets because the air flow required wouldn't happen. I had decided I didn't want an upright mostly because they seem like a dying breed), and I needed a vacuum cleaner that could do timber floors and carpets. I had heard good things about the Miele c3 cat and dog (literally everyone who has one loves it apparently), so went ahead and bought it today. So far I hate it. It is almost impossible to move over our carpets, and just sucks up the rugs (so 10/10 for suction). I have tried using the handle suction control, and the varying levels of suction on the machine itself. The bag indicator light is on all the time, and the machine gets really hot. I feel it is really off that you have to purchase a head that is 2/3 the price of the machine just to make it work. I will be returning the machine, of course, but I am truly disappointed.

    • @PerformanceReviews
      @PerformanceReviews  2 года назад +2

      The last part of that doesn't make too much sense. I'd recommend you go to your local dealer and consult with them.
      Make sure you bought the right machine for your flooring. The most I can make out of it is maybe you bought a C3 in a non-us country? It's really hard to say from that statement but definitely go consult with some local experts and get things straightened out to find the right machine for you.

    Great videos, very helpful - I hope to purchase my vacuum through one of your links. One question I had - if I have a straight suction Miele, could I possibly simply upgrade the vacuum to electric down the road if need be (to use the powered heads), perhaps by buying an electric wand assembly and any other required parts? Or would I *have* to buy an entirely new vacuum for the powered heads?
    Edit: I may have found the answer through Amazon's Q&A:
    'From Miele . . .
    "For a S6000/8000 series vacuum . . . To upgrade to one of our electric power brushed from a straight suction vacuum you will have to purchase these item in addition.
    SES117 Electric Hose $165
    SET220 Telescopic Electric Wand $125
    If you do not wish to upgrade the hose and wand you can use a STB205 turbo brush. Which will work on low pile carpeting.
    Thank you,
    Charnol Deloach
    Miele Customer Support
    Miele, USA”'
    Edit #2: FYI - Some Miele models apparently can't be upgraded from straight suction to electric, some can... so best to check first

    Anytime I read reviews I see this complaint a lot even with models that include a turbobrush. I think some people can't be bothered to change the head. Or don't know there are different heads for different surfaces. The Miele ecoteq head that I have with my blizzard is still a workout even on the lowest power setting.

    Hi, came across with this video. I have a Miele and have used it on my carpets for years. My 80% wool twist carpets are ok but my 50% wool loop pile new carpets start to have pilling/ fuzz and I realised the Miele’s brush head might be guilty. I know Sebo has a delicate version for loop pile carpets but if I want to keep my miele, will this turbo head you mentioned be ok or should i look for a particular type? Many thanks

    Can you turn off the electric power brush for hardwood floors? Or do you just raise it high enough so that it doesn’t brush against the floor? Is there a version that automatically turns on and off like some of the push vacuums on the market?

      Yes there's a switch at your fingertips on the models with electric power brushes to go to hard floor.
      However for doing a lot of hard floor they're hard floor tool it's very nice to use.

  • @hellowill

    Well.. I want the electric nozzle but they don't sell it here (ANZ). So I got that straight suction model and honestly it's not good for carpet or hardwood. Carpet hard to push (as shown here) and hardfloor same problem + it feels like it will end up scratching.
    I think I need to add the dedicated hardfloor tool and turbo... then the tool it came with is useless. Maybe Miele will let me trade it in?

    Hey man, how would a Turboteq SB 305 on the Miele C3 work for a wall to wall carpeted one level house with low to medium pile carpet? One short haired dog and three clean adults. Unfortunately powerheads aren't a thing in my country so airdriven belts are the only option for canister vacuums! You mentioned 1-2 rooms it should be fine but I just hate having to manhandle my straight suction C1 like you showed in the video around the house.

    • @PerformanceReviews

    Miele have a new AllteQ floor head on the website which says it gives ‘Effortless vacuuming’. Has anyone tried it? It’s the SBD 365-3. I find even the turbobrush is hard to push on carpet so if I can’t find a solution I’m going to have to buy a new vacuum cleaner. Miele’s customer service is useless. Is a wool carpet a low pile? Its not shag but it isn't commerical or flat weave either. Its a giant 13' x 15' rug with furniture on it. A small rug under the dining table (jute and wool).
