  • My little journey in choosing Rural King's RK25 Tractor. I watched endless tractor videos. Mostly from these channels:
    Tony's Tractor Adventure Homestead - / @tonystractoradventure
    Outdoors With the Morgans - / @outdoorswiththemorgans
    TNT - Try New Things - / @trynewthings
    There are many others, but I want to thanks these people for the tractor education.
    RKTractors - www.rktractors.com/
    Rural King Credit Card (Harvest Card) - www.ruralking.com/harvest. Save 5% off the purchase of your tractor.
    I have no affiliation with any of these links.
    7/29/2021 - I just realized that the video was set to made for kids and with that setting, you can't leave comments. I just changed the setting so you can now leave comments.

    I just came across your video. I thought to mention that you have put together a great video. Your editing and narration skills are quite well, good job. I have owned and operated many makes and models of tractors here on my farm for 40 years now. Having said that, I know little to nothing about your tractor or the manufacture. Rual King does not operate in my area. In my opion, the questions you asked during your research were spot on. Anyone new to tractors wishing purchasing one should follow your lead. Every point that you brought up I still consider when I'm looking to purchase. Your reasoning and decision on the ZTR is one that many would not thought of. No need for a belly mower when you have a ZTR. I hope your purchase is everything you hoped it would be. Looking forward to follow you on your adventure.

Overall very pleased with the compact beast. I was considering if I should post some video on RUclips of the 50 hr service, my impressions and so on. Congrats! Just got my RK21 with mid mower and front loader last week. I only have a half-acre in suburbia, but I always wanted a tractor. It's overkill, certainly. Took almost 4 weeks to get. Ordered R14 tires, but came with R4's. Salesman said "These are the ones you want anyway." Nope. I'm going to have RK swap them out. Tractor had several small design flaws that I fixed. Nothing serious. Overall a nice machine. We'll see how it goes.

    With what comes as standard equipment on an RK series tractor as compared to JD and other big names they are hard to beat. I own an RK37 and a JD 3043D. Loaded tires were a 600.00 option along with a 43.00 option for a radiator screen . There is NO bucket level indicator. Welcome to JD. It took 6 months to get the JD . No they did not give a discount because of the wait time. I understand I am lucky enough to own both. Which one sees the most use ? The RK ! The JD will be going up for sale.

  • @robertschumacher472
    @robertschumacher472 Год назад +1

    Hi thank you for your info and all everybody else's comments they're very helpful. I would like to put something out there for the other perspective person. If you're wanting a compact loader tractor then the issue becomes how much can you lift with the loader and what size of a tractor that puts you into. I looked at John Deere and John Deere is very good and they have a wonderful service and dealer distribution so that's a very big positive. The negative is they are way expensive and I can't afford them when I compare them to something else. For retail sale and service John Deere is the way to go and Kubota likewise. With that big dealership overhead obviously comes the cost. Yes this is a tym tractor but get this don't be fooled there is a downside of getting a Rural King tractor. That is you will be buying your parts and things to Rural King even though they're a tym tractor. Tym doesn't officially recognize the Rural King tractor. As long as you do your own work and service and get your parts to Rural King you'll be fine. The downside is this what happens if Rural King decides to drop this line of tractors and use somebody else? So those of us who have an RK we have decided to take a chance that that will not happen anytime soon and we have a track that it is well built and it's got a good track history from the company that builds it. But it is with some risk. Any of you guys if you have a tym dealer call them up and see if they will get parts for you for your tractor I think most of them would like to say no. So I'm willing to risk that I'm willing to believe with their 8-year warranty that they probably won't have that many problems especially if you take it easy on the tractor. That's just my two cents also remember that Rural King wants you to buy all the oils and materials from them to maintain your warranty which I don't think is too excessive because they'll give you a fairly good deal on it. If you do your own maintenance you need to keep your bills and show where you bought them materials from Rural King. Other than that I might say this for people who are not tractor owners. These are diesels and don't rev the crap out of them! And yet they are small diesel so yes don't go ahead and expect that you're going to do pulling in high gear. You must consider that this tractor this big giant hunk of metal is being pulled around by about 25 horsepower or the equivalent of your Zero Turn Mower probably. There are some cheaper tractors out there now from what I understand something by a company called Summit. Those are a great value but again you have to again see what there's going to be the most sold and I think that Rural King's program here is going to sell a lot of tractors and therefore they will be prevalent enough so that the resale will be pretty good. With John Deere and Kubota you can pretty much count on selling it for as much or more than what you paid for it. RK probably not but you shouldn't lose too much

    I test drove an RK25 in the parking lot at a store and was surprised how much I hated the auto throttle. It barely worked in high gear on a flat paved surface. The engine would bog down unless you pushed the pedal down very slowly. It was easier to just use the hand throttle.
    It seems like they got so much extra into the tractor for such a low price I'm not sure they did it well. Maybe it just needed some adjustments.

      Yes, that is what Rural King has done. Other tractor companies do the same thing like LS, Kioti.

      I agree! I remember all the manual work I use to do. With a tractor the work is much easier.
