You don’t have to open the charge port in the car! There’s a button on the charge cable itself that opens the port when you point it at it.
You can also tap the charge port cover and it will open and will auto close.

I was temporarily confused.....lol.
I only use premium (wind power) in my Tesla! ...when I charge at home at least.

I have a Model 3 since April; bought it from my son who bought a Model Y. The more I own it and drive it, the more I like it. I took in on a 1000 mile trip from NM to Boise and it was wondaful; no problems; no long delays. And that trip involves a lot of driving through mountains - high altitudes. It was so nice!
I have to say it, I was a Tesla skeptic. But now, I’ve decided my next car will be a Model 3!

For practicality get the Model Y, way larger trunk space. For better interior go for the Model S. Model 3 is the worst of both worlds.

@@vortex6085 Look at the cargo space, the passenger space, interior quality, design and drive. Model 3 is inferior to Model S in every way. Model Y has the same bloated dolphin design as the Model 3.

Changing for 30 minutes to an hour? On a Vancouver to Halifax road trip of 3612 miles the average time spent at each supercharger was 18 minutes. The most efficient way to road trip is to only charge enough to get to the next easily accessible charger and to arrive with around 10% state of charge. The lower the state of charge, the quicker the charging times are.
I think all superchargers along the trans Canada highway are V3, so they can be twice as fast as older versions in the states. Some super charging stations in the US are quite dated so I won't be surprised to see them being less efficient than the latest iterations.
@@jiaweizhang4166 The ones that completed the Trans Canada route across the Prairies and north of the Great Lakes are V3s but everything east and west of that are V1s & V2s
That comment stood out for me. It is totally inaccurate. I have rarely been at a supercharger for more than 30 minutes and never been there for close to an hour. 20-25 minutes is typical.
Average life of battery for Tesla or any other EV assumes that people will keep their battery life over 50 percent, it might be hidden somewhere in the fine print. There is memory effect on battery which will degrade battery much sooner if you run in lower charge.
@@PG-er6ez Please find that quotation. Ni-Cad batteries have memory issues, L-ion batteries don't. Regardless of what you do to the battery it is guaranteed to maintain at lest 70% of its capacity for over 100,000 miles. What is more important is to not allow the battery to either remain below 20% or at 100% for an extended period of time. Supercharging puts more strain on the battery than using a level 2 charger but very few drivers are able to degrade the battery within the warranty period. (All of this is for what we have now. The next generation promises to be far more robust.)

I like everything on the tesla but some things I would like conventional like having a display directly in front of the steering wheel, having gear selector on the center between seats and climate and radio knobs. Having knobs allows you to adjust radio or climate with out taking your eyes off the road and that's a safety issue. Other wise I like the tesla model 3
I'm glad more and more people realize how amazing Tesla is once they driven one.

The fact that you can play games, watch Netflix and stuff on it without using Bluetooth is amazing

Your front bumper looks like it was replaced and paint matched poorly. You should have that re-painted. Tesla is starting to put paint booths into their service centers. They repainted mine after a replacement bumper didn't match quite right. Now it looks perfect.

They don't come that way. I had to do it custom.

That’s nuts having most of the controls & gauges in the tablet requires the driver to look away from the road to find & tap the icon. gauges are in front of the driver so we can check them at a glance controls are large to find without looking. Theres to many dangerous features that distract the driver from driving
I booked a test drive - went to Park Royal, W. Vancouver location ... picked a route that took us up from sea level to Upper Levels freeway, then up the steeper incline of the switchback highway up to Cypress Provincial Park’s ski resort area at 2,000-2,500 ft elevation above sea level ...man that car has power and torque it felt like a supersonic jet on takeoff & climbing effortlessly ... felt the G forces . & ears popped like in a plane ✈️

The only downside is the long charge times but that's only an issue on road trips. It'd be nice waking up every morning with a full tank or I guess in this case a full charge.
I want one. The only thing is that some physical buttons should stay. Why? Because the radio and air can be used by just feeling without looking away from the road which can cause an accident. The screen is just a big phone and using phones on most streets and roads, is illegal. Other than that, it’s an excellent car

Man oh man how I want one. Seen a few by me here in Dallas. Few black ones and I think a blue one like this with the same interior color! Then another blue one in Houston. Going for about 20-30k all under 100k miles. Definitely gonna check one out and if the numbers are right I'll take it home on a finance

Someone kerbed those wheels really badly.
First thing I noticed as well. I curbed the wheels on my model 3 about 2 weeks after I got it. Ordered a kit off of amazon and fixed it in 30 minutes.
@@TowfieFanous What does curving a wheel mean? Do you mean curbing as in scratching the wheels against a curb? Why would that damage the tires? I have so many questions.

I'd miss the heated steering wheel I have in my LEAF. It feels sooo good on the arthritic hands, especially on cold mornings. I suppose one could preheat the car though, and get a similar result. Still, I wish Tesla's had 'em.
I would like to see more voice command options so the driver doesn't have to take his eyes off the road. And faster charging times which I am sure are coming.
Also how do you pay at the charging stations?
The charge is added to your Tesla account, which can be paid at any time using a debit card.

you should have an owner show how to use the features, you either missed or omitted the convenient and easy ways to control the car. for instance it has voice control for everything so 1 button on the wheel that is under your thumb already gets you every feature on the car basically.
Is the slowing at stop signs and stop light feature only available with the add-on self driving capability, or is it a standard update for the stock version? Thanks!

Just saying you have to wait up to an hour to charge at a public station is kind of misleading. Driving a BEV is a completely different paradigm. New V3 Superchargers now support charging rates that get you up to 75 miles in 5 mins. But that is significant, and not, because 99% of the time you're (level 2) charging at home and waking up to a full "tank" everyday... that is the paradigm shift. So unless it's long distance, you typically only put in just enoungh to get you in your way at a public station.
