- BBC Timeshift tells the story of how a traditional working-class pub game became a national obsession during the 1970s and 80s, and looks at the key role television played in elevating its larger-than-life players into household names.
Siobhan Finneran narrates a documentary which charts the game's surprising history, its cross-class and cross-gender appeal, and the star players that, for two decades, transformed a pub pastime into a sporting spectacle like no other.
Featuring legendary names such as Alan Evans and Jocky Wilson and including contributions from Eric Bristow, Bobby George, John Lowe and Phil Taylor.

Wonderful footage. Eric was the leader of the revolt against the BBC and the establishment of the PDC, which resulted in darts becoming a big-time sport. He was a great champion.

I loved this documentation, had to watch it for school, but was very positivly suprised by the documentation.
Amazing archival footage. Surprised the BBC didn't wipe out the tapes so that they could be reused like they did with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.

Not as good as the itv4 documentary. Didn't want to pay the clip money to sky, to give a full picture of darts.
As good as Eric was in the day he wouldn't live with the PDC boys today
