I agree to an extent, but we have seen numerous clips in these compilations where a driver get mad at the cammer for being a bit quicker on the lane change, as what happened to the Avalon's driver in this clip, and then gets revenge by squeezing in later on, as what the Avalon's driver was trying to do here, and then brake checks them with varying results (I have seen accidents, near accidents, etc). In this particular instance, I see no good coming out of that Avalon's driver under the guise of 'revenge', so it was smart not to let him squeeze into that very limited slot.

    • @carcontrolschool

The law states that the vehicles should use BOTH lanes until they reach the marked construction-merge. At that point they are to use the "zipper" method, taking turns one-at-a-time from each lane. When vehicles do _not_ do this, the *one* lane they use backs up too far, way too far. My sons live on a road under repair. The traffic backs up a full mile through three traffic lights because everyone is so polite as to not use the lane they know will close up ahead. If the did merge at the last moment the traffic would not even reach the first light.

what are you talking about? 5:17 That is NOT how zipper merge works. If the Tesla had already been in front, it would have been rude (thought not illegal) for the cammer not to let him in. However, there was nobody ahead to merge and cammer was leaving a reasonable gap with traffic in front, which was already starting to brake. Then, out of nowhere, Tesla speeds until the lane ends and essentially bullies his way in front of cammer despite the lack of safe space. That was not a zipper merge, it was a cut off. The mistake the cammer made was trying to run the bully of the road. Can't outpace a Tesla. It was dangerous for possible workers and bound to fail. It sucks, but he should have closed the gap ahead of time, denying the cut off in a safe way.

BAD mistake when caught! Even worse mistake if getting into a crash even if it wasn't her fault.)

He's a fool of course, because he never bothered signalling right and probably still hasn't figured out how the convex part of the mirror works ...

Let me tell you, they've lasted an eternity and drive in the rain like the puddles don't exist. Haven't tried them in the snow, but they're supposed to be excellent (for an all-season tire). I've always bothered with decent tires, but this is the first set I've ever felt was worth telling other people to go get.

My dad has Crossclimate 2's on his 2014 Chevy Equinox and has been very happy with them. From what I understand, they aren't even all season tires, but rather snow tires that use a new rubber compound that doesn't wear out super fast in the summer. Planning to test them on the Chevy vs. my 2015 Subaru Forester with normal all seasons this winter, I might still have the advantage in traction due to AWD, but I want to see how the Crossclimate 2's compare when it comes to stopping distance, which is far more important.

How it works: Shoot the gap, they have brakes; never be afraid to put your 5' wide car into a 4' wide gap, take the shot, they'll move; be late for everything and expect people to understand that since you're on 'Mormon Standard Time' (leave house when meeting starts) cause, you know, everyone here is a mind reader, BUT, take time to brake check and yell at people when you are the who is totally wrong; speed limits are for sissies; take offence at any and all when stupidity is called out; act out like a primary child; rage mode is the default setting; prove you're the bigger idiot but never in the wrong; snow schmo, summer tires with half-tread are just fine. These and many more are the 'social norms' of the SLC valley.
