I know I'm a bit late but if it helps. You CAN use a wireless controller BUT your headset can't have a built-in mic. Detachable mics will work as long as the mic is taken off. In a simple explanation. The usb mic and the headset mic both try to record audio but just end up canceling each other out...hope that helps anyone
@@Twizzy_Mario No that won’t work. It’s an internal thing with the headset. The headset and usb mic overlap each other when going though the splitter canceling themselves out. So you NEED a detachable mic headset.
To help anyone one with the annoying buzzing sound instead of using headphones use a speaker that has a 3.5 millimetre jack and plug it in where normally the headphones would go after plugging in the speakers if your in a party your friends voice will come out the speaker
This is good, i’ve seen so many videos showing you requiring to buy the stereo adapter. But the adapter isn’t even available in australia. Your a life saver mate.
Hi, does anybody know why my mic does not work? I have everything needed but when i plug my mic in it only works for about 2 seconds, and then turns off. Could anyone help me?
Can I plug the mic into my headset without the adapter because I have a detachable mic so if I plug the usb mic into 3.5mm spot on the headset using the 3.5mm aux cable male to male will it work ?? Hopefully you can understand this
Most of the gear I was able to find that I have laying around the house such as my headphone and mic splitter. (orginally I was using it as part of a Raspberry Pi project.) Though I'd just use a 3.5mm mic and headphones with the mic being on a proper arm for me to use and the headphones as well.
I still don’t understand how to use a USB mic with the Xbox one, I have Xbox one S I got the splitter and I got the 3.5 mm male to male but when I plug everything in nothing works.
So I had recently got a blue yeti mic along with the splitter and two 3.5mm cables but when ever I hook everything up nothing works but when ever I get in a party it detects a mic but the bubble doesn’t move. I’m on the series s so I’m not sure if that’s why but I’m assuming so because I have yet to find one video of a how to for a series s/x
It was doing that when I used the turtle beach controller adapter. Don’t use the adapter, just plug the splitter itself directly into the bottom of the remote
Hi, so if you follow all the other directions and then use the splitter to connect your mic to your controller but leave the headphone side empty, then it should work! Since I don't have a USB headset I can't say 100% sure but theoretically it should work!
For some reason when I plug my USB Mic into my Xbox itself it doesn’t work. But when I plug it into my laptop it does. When I plug it into my Xbox, I get audio for 4 secs then it turns off. Any advise anyone?
Well I got a quick question I have a headset plugged into my controller but I have a USB mic one that plugs into the Xbox ports is there any way u can help
Holy hell I thought I was just missing something. My PS5 I just plug it in and it just works. This is just silly. Guess I'll keep using my over ear headphones for discord with game audio through earbuds on Xbox.
Does anyone else get random lag spikes in input delay with your controller after doing all this? It seems the amount of hardware/wires/splitters is causing my controller input to lag. Is there anything i can do about this?
Hmmm, what controller do you have, and is your Xbox connected to your router? I have had no issues regarding input lag since it has been the same with and without using my mic!
After doing all of this how do you communicate in game chat? I’m able to hear others and they can hear me while in an Xbox party but outside of an Xbox party I’m unable to hear others and they’re unable to hear me while playing warzone etc

I just downloaded the Xbox App and ran remote play then I Used a Bluetooth mic from my phone Audio...... I had issues bc I run my Astro Mixamp TR through a 200w DAC. (Dac easily Doubles the Volume level) DAC will not allow Mic audio pass through so hince why I use the App. that way I get audio through the daisey chained Mixamp and Dac and the Mic works through my phone mic Via shareplay. Just and easy fix if someone has a Bluetooth Mic and doesn't want to deal with Microsoft privacy hurdles. This is also a great alternative for individuals using a Series X as the next box doesn't have a Optical output. the only other way I have found is to Extract the audio via a HDMI Audio Extractor which will cause audio lag thus wasn't a viable option for me.
The mic I’m using has a bunch of static when you plug the aux chord in I’ve tried two different chords any ideas it works in party chat just so much static it’s unbearable
Hmm thats weird, have you made sure that everything is in the right spot and it is all plugged correctly? Usually this happens when the microphone does not have enough power thus reducing the gain it has which is basically the static. I reccomend trying to change the port that you connect your microphone to for power, or just plug it directly into a wall!
