It’s funny - I know you’re not the biggest fan of this fragrance, and it’s certainly generic and derivative but it will always have a place in my heart. I recently got a bottle of it with knowing nothing about it . I wear it more than my chanel let alone dior . It just stands out to me so fucking much , favorite to date.
Montblanc Explorer is brilliant. I directly compared it to Creed Aventus and both myself and my wife couldn't tell the difference between them. I own a 200ml bottle after instantly buying it when I smelt it on a colleague. (Not that I wanted to smell the same as them, just it was the best, strongest scent I think I've ever smelt!). Performance, sillage, everything is great on it, it's clean and fresh and woody and masculine. It works in pretty much all situations, all year around. I would literally rate it 10/10, and I have hundreds of pounds worth of fragrances. I would say it suits a man aged 30+.
It’s my favorite fragrance and yes you actually can wear this all year everyday day or night and literally any occasion you can possibly think of. I think it’s the most versatile fragrance out of all fragrances whether it’s designer or niche.

I picked up a 100 ml bottle of this for about 30 quid! Absolute bargain. Love the bottle and it smells really nice on me and lasts well. It's an easy any time any day kind of spray. Have a lot of compliments aswell if you're in to that. Nice to know I don't smell bad.
Not everyone can afford creed so for a designer to get you near the experience for less is good, but I love montblanc getting their back on creed was a baller move.

Aaron, I recently received your sample set. After a 48 hour testing I'm confident that Haze, Daddy, Guapo, Boss Bastard and High Voltage will be in my rotation. This is saying a lot because I usually only connect with 1 or 2 fragrances from a house. The only other house I have bought multiple style fragrances is Tom Ford. Having said that theres one fragrance in particular that grabbed my attention. Hard Candy. After reading your description I decided to give it a proper run instead of assuming it would be too sweet. I grabbed my sample of Hard Candy and went into my room. It was nighttime so the mood was set. I turned on the blacklight and turned on the soundtrack to Charlie and the chocolate factory. I closed my eyes took a healthy inhalation of Hard Candy after two sprays..... I opened my eyes just as Mr. Wonka himself started to speak "Come with me and you'll be in a world of pure imagination" Hard Candy is an absolute masterpiece, Mr. Hughes. I then went to purchase a few bottles and it appears sold out as it was a limited run... Is there any chance you can do another run of Hard Candy? Otherwise Hard Candy will remain a mere whisper to my senses. Hair looks great, btw🦄👍
Hey, you remastered the old, scuffed Explorer video! It was so good in its own right, but the way you do things now is so much more informative and contemplative. I won't lie and say that I don't kind of miss the old semi-ranty style, but I'm still really glad you're looking back at the old stuff with a more analytical and mature perspective. Yesterday I sprayed it on my hand in the store...even after I showered some 8hrs later, I could still detect it. Potent stuff. I'll probably go back and but it today
The background change is interesting and different, and hair change is very cool. We all get in our comfort zones, the black background is all of ours, I read that you'll go back to it due to location which is great. There _is_ something more dramatic about the dark that suits you, but again, occasional change is all good. Very interesting/neat cut to the hair, hope you're well, cheers!
I recently bought a bottle off eBay but Im getting no performance from it I put about 6 spray's around my neck and before I know it I can't even detect it in the Air. The seller says it could be my skin but I see you've said In previous vids your skin isn't the best for fragrances but here you say the scent is strong and lasts a long time. Guess maybe I got a bad bottle 😭
I like the new hair style! I have Creed Adventus, Explorer and Hacivat. None are clones imo. I like them all but drydowns are all different. To me, I get huge performance from aventus, that has fresh/sweet/wood drydown. Explorer is more ambroxan and peppery, and Hacivat is green and earthy.
Love your haircut looking good. I have this frag and it smells good. Though the sillage and projection is not that good but it lasts on my skin for 6-7hrs on 4 sprays
Glad you reviewed this again. It deserves a fair look. I always keep a backup bottle. If you ever do your own version please include birch... It could be a potential top-seller
LOL You look younger here! :D This is a citrus-acid white musk and smoke bomb cloying bomb. For $40 bucks on Discounters it's a good frag, but it's cloying in the high heat. Suppose to be an Aventus clone. Aventus is much smoother and tame with the citrus-acid, and Patchouli comes into play in the Bottom Dryoff. I smelt a girl walk past me corporate Downtown wearing it, and for some reason i just find it tacky.
Even if you don’t like clones. I would love love love to see you review a Lattafa or Al Haramain fragrance. I would like you to tell us how it is even possible that they sometimes sell a 100 ml bottle for less than 20 bucks and still gets amazing reviews on Fragrentica or Parfumo. The Old review was INCREDIBLE 😂 I got this for $28 for 3.4oz as a cheapy… the ambroxan is harshhh but I’m PISSED that this gets me more compliments than my niche masterpieces.
I prefer MBE to Aventus because it's heavier and smokier. But I don't get that great of performance from it around 6 hours. Hard to complain given it's cost.
While I find myself not particularly fond of Aventus , I rather like Explorer as a safe work scent. I rarely wear it outside of the work environment however. On my own time I prefer dark, rich scents like your Onyx.
Prefer Hacivat over Montblanc Explorer if I’m going for that Aventus vibe. However Montblanc is so much better than Aventus IMO. Aventus unfortunately just doesn’t last on my skin at all anymore.
We switched haircuts at the same time, I had the exact one you've got now for the longest time haha. If Galaxolide is used here, that's already a change! Aventus uses Helvetolide, and according to that Creed exposé book, the combo of Helvetolide + Ambroxan was the birth of Aventus. The whole development process started there.
I saw you have fragrances on Max Aroma, including a 23x2ml discovery set. Most if not all showed a notice that they’re expecting to be in stock around November 1st or 2nd. I hope those are on track to hit early next month. As a long time sub I’d love to purchase some.
I don’t associate this with Aventus…..at least not with the bottle of Aventus I own. I got explorer as a gift when it came out so I had no expectations to what it was supposed to be inspired by and I liked it….it isn’t ground breaking but very pleasant and can be worn almost anywhere. The price point is fantastic and lasts a long time. I would love for you to make an improved version of this with a little more character and distinction.
IMO this is a great cheapie alternative to Aventus. I do find differences enough in Explorer to not feel like I’m wearing a dupe, which I don’t do. However in a similar line I think Hacivat is better then either and can be had at discounters for around $100. I really enjoy the touch of earthy notes in Hacivat as well so it’s another to consider if you like this one. As always, a great review.
Hacivat is okay its good and terrible at the same time great performance but smell compared to creed is not even close creed is way over priced but it is better.
Not sure I'll be keeping my Explorer bottle. The Armaf CDNIM alternative works better for me since it seems to lack ambroxan. For me Explorer is just that same old pineapple of Aventus thing with some 'blue' added.
I would suggest Parfums Vintage take on Aventus, Pineapple Vintage Emperor. They have mastered the Aventus inspiration to a level unmatched. The Emperor EDP and EXTRAIT are what Aventus SHOULD be.

I apply two sprays of Office for Men first then I apply 4-6 sprays of Explorer over it. The combo works well together and helps push off the skin.
