I think that Terre D'Hermès is a masterpiece by Jean-Claude Ellena. I would rate it as a TOP 10 designer fragrance of all time.
You darm right it is!
I would drink this if i could
Yeah, that DNA is hard to beat. So different
True.
@@kingkrubb8880dior fahrenheit its better i think
I really appreciate that Aaron can be comfortable in saying that although a fragrance is "amazing" and "excellent", etc, while also saying "it's not to "my taste" and "I dont like" while also talking about it's "pros" is refreshing.
Most YT reviewers either love every single fragrance they smell, or they bash ones based on their own personal likes and dislikes, regardless of the quality and craft involved.
That's Aaron for you :)
This is the reason why he’s my absolute favorite reviewer. Unbiased and honest. And able to appreciate something of good quality regardless of it not matching his personal preference. Definitely agree with you.
Aaron is a pleasant contrarian. Most contrarians are annoying. Aaron is more of a likable contrarian.
A professional
thats why i like aarons channel, he cant appreciate quality and artistry without actually liking the aroma personally
I love how you make the fragrance a visual experience in addition to a smell. So engaging and unlike any other reviewers. The way you gesture actually makes the note breakdowns make more sense to a layman as well, making the channel more accessible. I can feel your passion for fragrance and its thoroughly enjoyable to watch 👌
so refreshing to hear a perfumer talk about fragrances! love this technical talk about notes !!!
I just love how even when you don't like a fragrance, you can appreciate the art for for what it is and still give the perfect scenario where it would be worn.
Terre d'Hermes is a regular staple in my work rotation and always will be. Easily among my top designer choices and frequently brings positive feedback. Jean Claude Ellena is just brilliant at putting together these airy type scents that have a little twist in them even though they're quite safe.
I gifted this to my father more than a decade ago and recently when I asked him what to get him for his birthday he said, his Terre d'Hermes was almost gone so he needed another fragrance. 😂 You are a fascinating reviewer. Thank you.
I always search your reviews before I buy something. As someone who wears a suit to this office every day, I had to jump on it. Just got it in today! Love it! Definitely a classy scent.
Your a fragrance physician the way you dissect and examine the fragrance reviews with precision and yet make it simple for the regular people to understand, learn and enjoy perfumery
Absolutely the best fragrance reviews around; I learn so much everytime I have the pleasure of watching one... Bravo!
Without a doubt THE best perfumer videos on RUclips (and there are many). Always makes me smile when I am about the pull the trigger on a blind buy and see you have already reviewed. It helps make or break my purchase.
On to this, I have the terre d'hermes eau intense vetiver which I adore and adds more of that creamy vetiver. Maybe that one would be better suited.
Fantastic and honest review, thank you Aaron. Love your fragrance Maverick I purchased a full bottle recently been rocking it regularly I love the smell of it and so does most of everyone I work with .
Absolutely love your reviews, sir 🙏🏻 I’ve been wearing Terre D’Hermes as my signature for some time now and I think it’s great for most occasions 👌🏼
Cheers from Denmark 🇩🇰
You hit the nail right on the head. While this might not be for everybody it is undoubtedly a masterpiece. Jean-Claude Ellena is a genius.
This is a fragrance that given how people describe it, I didn't think I'd like it. But there is something about it that I find alluring. Also compared to many other citrus fragrances I feel like this maintains the fruity citrus notes for a lot longer.
I love how you include the science of the perfumery in your reviews. Also, you give it such an honest review and you don't down play how great it is just because you personally don't like it. Love your reviews, Aaron. Keep them coming.
This is a masterpiece timeless classic musculune fragrance. It has everything you need, fresh, green, woody, earthy and musky fragrance.
I love your reviews Aaron! Thank you!
I do have a bottle of this and yes I get the cigarettes too. Now you’ve mentioned it as the Vetiver, I am gonna embrace it for what it is. 😊👍
Aaron, please make a vid where you talk about how your love and obsession with perfume developed. And when you decided to devote your life to the art of fragrance
Brother, I feel an indescribable pleasure in the way you speak, how you untangle the description of any perfume, it's something divine... this is POWER
The more I 'watch you' the more I appreciate your honest opinion. To say that it's exelent and well crafted but at the same time you don't like it is just awesome. To appreciate the craftmanship and work that has been put into it but to say that it's just not your favorite. I REALLY love your content. Thank you for posting this content and for being 'you'. Please never quit and keep posting this wonderfull content. I admire you a lot.
Thank u Aaron, great review n excellent as always. God bless u brother 🙏✝️
I have such special memories of this fragrance. It blew me away and still does to this day. An absolute masterpiece.
Love this channel. It’s like having a fragrance professor lol
About to pull the trigger on Smolder 😎
Great review Aaron. I really like it and have been wearing it for years. But I have to be in the right mood for it, it could never be a signature scent for me. As always, so much information, thanks!
Thank you for always giving your honest opinion. I have learned so much more from you than anyone else on RUclips that ‘rates’ parfumerie. Typically others have something to gain but you truly do this for the love of scent. I know you only do the ‘best of’ at the end of a year, but I truly would love to know what your top five that you wear are. Cheers.
I'm obsessed with this man, love your breakdowns love your physical expression.. art expresses itself through you in so many forms 🤍 fascinating. Will you ever review women's fragrance?
Yes I got 8 womans perfumes and will be reviewing soon.
@@AaronTerenceHughes I feel like you might be biased because of your friend an would be forced to say kind things about it.....am I right? I find it bitter but I see why someone would like it

This is it, the point of perfumery at which peak mastery is achieved. Beautiful from Hermes, a timeless scent that remains as individual and refreshing as it was when first released. Very glad that you like it!
Are you F kidding me. This garbage is 45% iso e super.
Like half of the world can't smell ISO E super and Terre d'Hermes contains 45% ISO E super. So, to 50% of strangers you small sharp offensive and UNBEARABLE, because they cannot smell the huge amount of softener that is need to blunt the pungency from the other notes. I'm one of the people are anosmic to ISO E super.
So well said. Been wearing EDP for about six years
Great review. 'Terre D'Hermès' is a newer aquisition to my collection. I truly love it.
ps. You are amazing. Perhaps, my favorite fragrance expert!
I adore this fragrance which has been my spring and mild summer day signature scent. It's still unique despite being released in 2006. Even the ones who don't love it do acknowledge its quality.
You're correct for what season this is the best. I like Voyage D' Hermes for the hot summer days.
Great, I was so curious about your opinion on TdH! Stay well and healthy, Aaron.
Talking about citrusy fragrances I'm absolutely impressed by Haze Blue. The fragrance is so classy, sophisticated, and well blended. I was never expecting a fragrance with so well-known compounds to smell like this. I literally can't stop smelling it and I love the opening and the dry down equally. I plan to get haze black soon. Aron, you are truly a master!
Thank you. Thats very kind🦄
I been waiting to pull the trigger on getting this one, but after seeing your review of it I think I just might have to get it.
Can't wait to see your take on vetiver by the way
I really appreciated your review, particularly your point about it having an earthy & cigarette like feel. Love it for work.
I was super curious about this one because you said, on you previous review, this would probably be reformulated. Great review, as always 🦄
I actually prefer the parfum version... Sometimes I mix your Oud with the parfum terre d'hermes
Your reviews have gotten better with time. Kudos
I was wearing a white shirt yesterday and ,..I sprayed this cologne on it put me in such a good mood it's definitely a classic it's not for everybody . Great review I always love to hear your opinion.
Terre d’Hermes has been my signature fragrance since 2016. Still packs such a punch. Absolutely love it. Class in a bottle. Works all year round

@@dextermorgan2117 too bad so sad
@@dextermorgan2117 does dylan blue contain ISO E super? I hate it and it gives me headaches and i cant work out why
Thanks for your review Aaron. I only found your channel yesterday. I can barely pick up on Terre dHermes with my nose. Just can't smell the stuff. But Ultimate by Baldessarrini is full of iso super and I love that juice. Great for layering with woody scents. I love vetiver in Bvlgari Man Terrae Essence and Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum as well. Two different but lovely vetiver scents. I'm quite interested in your new creation guapo. I'd like to experience the bergamot and vetiver you described in it. Sounds magnificent and sublime. Thanks for your passion. Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭 😀.
You such one of your kind …I mostly listen to before I make my purchases.
Spot on review. I'm also smelling a phantom tobacco cigarette note in it, which I love. It's both my favorite woody and my favorite vetiver fragrance.
I'm glad you like this, it's one of my favourites when I have to wear something clean.
Thanks for making a review on this fragrance. I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on this :). I just recently picked up samples of Terre d'Hermes and Terre d'Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver. I think I'm currently liking eau intense vetiver a bit more. I would love to hear what you think of that one too.
I also prefer the Eau Intense Vetiver!
Such a unique perspective on fragrances. An actual perfumer breaking down other fragrances with an honest assessment. Love it bro.
And by the way, I've tried boss bastard and jasmine narcotique by Aaron and they are absolutely phenomenal. He's the real deal
Thats amazing to hear thank you! 🦄🦄
Terre D'Hermes is a legit masterpiece for what it is. It's been a decade since I've worn it routinely, but even with a niche collection now, it's just undeniably nice. That cigarette aspect you mention, I'd explain as "flinty" & really love it... Kinda "its thing" with this one, IMO. Especially considering it's a 2006 release, I have mad respect for this one as a still-great, modern, pre-Tom Ford banger for men. Its flankers are also surprisingly worthwhile fwiw.
@@solokom Grew up collecting Zippo lighters so it's surely a reference I'm more familiar with than most - replacing flints all the time - But yep it's exactly what makes TdH so compelling. Brilliant scent.
Hi Aaron. This is one of my favorite fragrances and I have had many compliments from it. It works very well on my skin. I appreciate your assessment and it's spot on!

I feel like I am watching somebody really experienced and pro next to others fragrances channel. I love your gesture when you speak, it give me a "visual" idea of the scent. Really fantastic and I don't say that a lot.
Omg your beard suits you so much! 😍
First time getting in contact actually with the soap terre d'hermes. Then searched for the fragrance and found the power of nature in a bottle.
Your reviews are always on point!
I've got the Parfum version/flanker of this, and to say that I'm in love with it is a big understatement. I think you should maybe give the Parfum a go as it's not as heavy on the Vetiver as the EDT (even though I love my Vetiver). It's just so smooth & elegant.
Love the review.
I love Vetiver as well. Cheers
The EDT creates a really nice scent cloud. Very classy and soft yet somehow masculine. The pepper and patchouli in the drydown really stands out to me making the whole thing unusual. Love it.
Would you prefer it to the EDP and the parfum?
@@TA-ht4jo Yes
Aaron: and if you *LOVE* it…£137 for 200ml.
❤️ your expressions whenever you say this in your reviews. Always makes me smile. 🙂
I got it for 99€ for 200mL on Notino.
Had my first whiff of this today & I fully intend on coming back for it 🤞🏾
Hi Aaron, great work as usual! Pleaseeee please could you review 'Blessed Baraka' by the house of Initio Parfums. You will LOVE it! Sweet, unique, seductive, interesting perfumery. I highly recommend to add that to your list of fragrance reviews. Will be eyeing out the future video..! Keep up the good work.
One of best designer fragrance ever. Period.
I like this fragrance and after getting it I realized I like grassy, earthy non sweet fragrances (on most days). It’s good that even if you don’t like this type of “genre” you still manage to give it a decent review. Most reviewers out there would just bash a fragrance just because it’s not their thing.
This is a favorite of mine. Along Ambre Narguile, is why Hermes are probably my favorite house.
Took a while for Maxaroma to restock but finally ordered a 50 ml of raw cherry! Arrives Tuesday. I am so excited. I love cherry. Forbidden is one of my all time favourite fragrances! Can’t wait for Guapo! And the US exclusive!
amazing!!!!!🍒
Always a great review, I think your on point with the fragrance. You might like the perfume version a bit more.
OMG First time i looked up reviews for this on google last night not sure if i should or if should not but your review will help seal the deal lol. Sold 👏👏
Aaron, great vid. I think you would really like the Eau Tres Fraiche version better.
You’re a beautiful reviewer. Really authentic and interesting.
Hi Aaron! Hermes! Thank you! This is fascinating! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great review! Would be interesting to see your thoughts on the Parfum, how you find it in comparison to this the EDT
🙏🏿love your review of this scent
I think the review was spot on. I don’t like Terre d’ Hermès either, but I do appreciate M. Ellena’s direction for this fragrance and how well crafted it is. As with all of Ellena’s work, this is a modern reinterpretation of Edmond Roudnitska’s classic creations for Hermès, Rochas, and Dior. I would be curious to see Mr. Hughes’ appraisal of the Terre d’Hermès parfum and also of Eau Très Fraîche and Vetiver Intense versions, since I have a completely different take on these.
You are beautiful and I love the integrity and passion behind your reviews. I'd love you to review Amouage Honour Man. I think you would really appreciate it based upon your taste.
This is one of my favourite office fragrances. So glad you loved it!
Do you think it would work for blue collar workers?
@@RonaldJapenga thanks RJ, I’ll be coping a bottle. I’m getting tired of these sweet and kiddy colognes we’re men not little boys.
you pronounced it perfectly!:)great review, thank Ar!*
great informative review as always, you should review Amouage Epic man next.
Great quality, awesome review, I actually got this fragrance for my father, I thought it was a unique take of "fresh and clean" bit spicy bit woody, I loved it and he did as well.
Aaron, I have a request, obviously if you like to do so, can you do a review of "Andres Croxatto Man" is a perfume made by a fragrance reviewer from RUclips, I would like to hear your take on it because there's so many opinions and thoughts about it, but I REALLY want a professional to kinda pick it apart and really tell us what's the fragrance like. Thank you so much!
I’m fortunate enough to have a bottle of the original version and love it 😍
That’s my signature scents… glad to hear it from you.
I literally just got this this week. It took me on quite a journey. From kinda liking it. Then feeling a bit oh when the orange rind smell came in (but still couldn't stop sniffing). I ended up really liking it.
I have to say this is one of my favorites for sure. Top 5 off all the scents I’ve been through and smelled. It hits everyone different for sure
I’d love to see you review any Orto Parisi!
I was so happy to find this fragrance and know not only do I have a signature I have a signature for life. Hermès quality control for their products is outstanding.
Awesome review as always. Still waiting for The Scent from Hugo Boss
Aaron, your voice is soothing, rough, gritty, smooth, and I think someone ought to do a proper review of that. I give it a 10/10. When you talk I believe you.
Awesome video! I would love to hear your thoughts on Cedrat Boise!
I love TdH and as a chemist so appreciate the chemical breakdown!
Terre D' Hermes is a timeless classic. Both this one and Voyage D' Hermes are terrific.
Love your reviews and the way you explain things. Please review philip plein no limits i would like to hear your opinion!
TdH works in the office, Church, t-shirt & jeans. I find it very uplifting. Great stuff, even better value. Your reviews are detailed and concise so keep that up.

@@dextermorgan2117 iso e super is such a common ingredient in perfumery. I buy and wear what I enjoy for myself, not those around me.
I love how rough it smells. The oranges makes it fresh and lovely too.
When I saw the title, I immediately thought, ATH would like this, but it’s not for him. And I appreciate that about you. 8/10 is about perfect for this type of profile for you. Good review.
Amazing review, TdH EDT is one of my most favorite fragrances. Please review Ganymede by Marc Antoine Barrois, I would love to know your thoughts on it.
You are a genius at what you aaron much love
love this frag, but also that sweatshirt!
Great review I’m not too big a fan of the original I purchased the 200ml Eau Terre Fraiche in my opinion it’s the best formulation my friend agrees as well he owns the EDT . The fragrance is a perfect Orange note NICE FLORALS & natural woods the aquatic note makes it super bright & juicy I know you will love the fragrance ✌🏽 please give it a try if you can it’s my signature Summer scent 🖤
@@solokom I guess I got lucky & purchased an original my bottle has great performance & projection works in So Cal 100 Degree weather last 6-9 hours on me give or take
Love this stuff Arron but I know everyone has different tastes and it's great that your honest. One thing I love about Terre d'hermes is how it smell completely different in the air when I smell it on my skin I automatically think that, even though I love it, it won't be a complement puller but ladies just stop as I walk by them and tell me that I smell absolutely gorgeous.
the scent in the air is what really matters, reviewers or perfumers sniffle with their noses close to the skin, in order to analyze what notes are in there. the end. but in most of the fragrances, it smells very much different from the scent in the air. this is a fact, that sometimes makes me even angry, because it is so stupid to do it, in order to rate the smell of a scent. 1 example: Polo green smells a bit bitter and harsh before the late dry down with the nose pressed on the skin. does it matter? no. in the air, there is no bitterness at all. or spice bomb extreme. the caraway. some people say there is a body sweat reminiscent note in there if they press their nose on the skin. sure, but, thank god it is in there, it generates that seductive alluring sillage with all the other notes mixed in the air.
Very Nice Aaron!
Dude. I once read this fragrance will work for anyone over 40. Not sure what that means but I started wearing it at 40 and I'm now 60. I've never worn anything else. Both men and women still compliment me on the fragrance. Many women ask "what is your aftershave" and I think they mean it in a good way. Your breakdown of the fragrance was really informative and educational. Thank you.
@Carter you’re ahead of your time! Great choice, hope it works for you!
Aaron, would you ever be willing to make a video that shows you actually formulating/building a fragrance? I would love to hear you talk about your process. It could be for something very simple, not saying give away trade secrets or anything but to be able to visualize someone actually mixing a fragrance might be interesting. Dunno, just a thought.
I'm facilitated that you enjoy the scent. It is my signature scent for all concerts I visit. Last were that Imagine dragons. Very sad, that much concerts were cancelled as The weeknd and so on. I have much extreme good memories with this scent. Hope, it will be a better year.
I liked this fragrance so much that i went ahead and bought the flankers as well.
Hey Aaron I'd love to see your review on Frederic Malle French Lover. Has a similar vibe to this one.
I purchased this 3 days ago. I absolutely love it.
Thank you Aaron.
Can you do Tom Ford Oud Minerale? I just picked it up recently and I absolutely LOVE it! It is a very unique scent and I would love to hear your expert opinion on it!! You are awesome Aaron!!
Same here. I had a sample and even though I appreciate it the craftsmanship but dirty, earthy vetivert is not my thing. Great review as usual.
