Eau Intense Vetiver for me; it's the most 'mysterious' one out of the range and it balances citruses with root-y-earthiness with such ease, a really charming scent.
I like Eau Givree. I picked up a bottle at Bloomingdale's the other day. While I was there, I smelled Eau Intense Vetiver and loved it. Had grab that one as well.
Eau Tres Fraiche will never be replaced. The multi-dimensional sweet-sour-bitter orange peel depiction you get from it as well as the "light rain off a soil" watery nuance it gives off is just drop dead artistic. I'm sad though now it gets discontinued, but I can't do anything about it, just hoping Eau Givree at lest would do something in similar veins with ETF once I get its sample. As always, appreciate your review, Max--keep the game going!
On my skin, TdH EG is a beast critus fragrance! 4 sprays on my neck lasted me 2 days (autumn here in Sao Paulo). And that black currant like accord hanged on strong! I loved it!
It really pays to subscribe to a channel that has similar taste as you I felt the same about this fragrance when I first started my journey but I’ve evolved into loving it I love the intense vetiver perfect description….mature not aged great video
I never liked the wildly overrated Eau Tres Fraiche, with its cheap-smelling plasticky drydown. Eau Intense Vetiver is dense and one-dimensional, and gets on my nerves. Eau Givree is a big improvement on both of those, but the original and the Parfum are still the best. Honestly, though, Terre d'Hermes didn't need one flanker, let alone four. It was perfect right out the gate.
I love Terre d'Hermes Parfum (Pure Parfum). I think it is my favourite of the line so far (so underrated to me). I'm also intrigued about Eau Givree and I hope they'll bring that one here soon. This line is greatest and they work really well for summer and spring. I just wanted them to perform greatly, even though that might be too much to ask.
The balls on you Max Forti! Im impressed you didnt just hop on the bandwagon .. there is something unique and special about ETF. I havent tried Eau Givree but I think that as mass appealing as it sounds it is and with this fizzy grapefruity cool opening with the drydown people are reporting - it seems its a part of an evolving yet soon to be overly replicated segment of citrus summer fragrances. Im not impressed with people comparing this to D&G Light Blue Forever - sure I like that fragrance, but it isnt what I want or expect TDH flankers to smell like.
Great video Max and I enjoy watching it, I have bottle of NEW Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée and I real enjoy this fragrance . This is a great fresh fragrance for spring and summer.
I respectfully disagree. Def not ground breaking but it smells really good and I could still smell it after 8+ hours. I think it’s one of the better designer releases this year.
Great video and I enjoyed it and I like Terre De Hermes and Terre De Hermes pure parfum and Eau Intense Vetiver and I'm going to try the new one and have a blessed day
i have edt and eau givree... they smell very similar in my opinion but eau givreee is a lil bit fresher and has more citric inside.. i use about 10 sprays of eau givree and it lasts the whole day! used it this morning and i could still smell it pretty hard after work ....
Have not tried yet but Terre d' hermes is one of my top favorite fragrances that i have worn for years. I have both the edt and edp and can't begin to guess how many times i have been complimented when wearing. I will try a decant of this soon
Hello @MaxForti, can you please help me and tell me is it better to purchase D&G light blue Summer Vibes or this? which one last longer and better purchase? :) thank you!
Although not readily available in the US, found Bel Ami-Vétiver here in southern France while currently on vacation. Great classic Hermes vétiver EDT scent with a soft leather background note. Beautiful for cooler nights while hitting the nights for a nice brasserie dinner with friends. Also bought Hermès’ newest scent Eau Givrée at a Paris train station on my way south for 2 weeks. Nice lemon scent with a hint of coolness. Doesn’t last long in the high heat of southern France but still worth a sniff.
LOVE the scent of Eau Givrée. To me the weakness is the performance/longevity. Could’ve been a 9/10, but because of the longevity it’s a solid 7.5 or 8/10.
I have the original and smells so great. The problem is the performance. Maybe I'll try the Intense Vetiver to compare profile and performance as well. Obrigado, Max ;)
I'm a huge fan of Terre d'Hermes. Love them all including the new Eau Givrée although I have 2 back up bottles of Très Fraiche. Also enjoy H24 and hoping for an EDP version in the near future.
@@MaxForti Thanks. The original EDT changed my perception of fragrance. It literally stopped me in my tracks. It was and still is a special fragrance and even more so as I have great memories attached to it. I still have the original bottle.
Hey Max, thanks for the great overview. I bought Guerlain Vetiver intense and Terre de Hermes edt at the same time… If I layer them do you think I’m basically in the neighborhood of Terre eau Intense Vetiver, or does it have a different character? Thanks 🙏🏼
@@MaxForti Musgo de Carvalho e Vetiver , verdade viu, são mesmo Max, de fato os perfumes mais elagantes que tenho, contemplam essas notas! Muito bom 👏👏👏
Looking forward to trying the new Eau Givrée because I'm a big fan of the line and the reviews are good. However, I'm a little worried about reported "photorealistic grapefruit accord" "metallic accord" and "eucalyptus camphorous accord". I rejected D&G Light Blue Forever on opening due to it's too realistic grapefruit. I've rejected frags like Chanel Platinum Egoiste and MMM Replica At the Barbers due too being overly metallic. And I've rejected Creed Royal Mayfair and Nishane Sultan Vetiver due to the way-over-done camphor. Being more mineralic and less aquatic than Eau Tres Fraiche doesn't neccesarily scare me off. I'm wearing James Heeley's Sel Marin right now and I like it. But I am a big fan of Eau Tres Fraiche, and just received my second bottle due to it's being discontinued. It will be hard to equal let alone beat in my mind. We'll see. How close is Eau Givrée to Sel Marin? How about to L'eau D'issey by Issey Miyake and Creed Royal Water?
Hey James, thanks for sharing your thoughts... Eau Givrée is not close to Sel Marin whatsoever (completely different scent profile) Sel Marine is a very salty scent and Eau Givrée is more on the mineral side...
@@MaxFortiI just checked Fragrantica's "reminds me of....." list and L'eau D'issey did get votes as similar. Its worrisome to me though that D&G Light Blue Forever got a bunch of votes. I like L'eau D'issey (and Creed Royal Water).
Hi James, the new D&G Light Blue Italian Love might be more to your taste, it's less rindy. The grapefruit note is there in Eau Givrée but blended with others in a way that the D&G fragrances mentioned are not, it sticks out less there. The mid for me is quite sweet and resinous, with the drydown resembling Eau Tres Fraiche more (a touch of cumin perhaps) but the new scent has far better longevity I believe.
@@mattsmith1440 Thanks Matt, that's good information. It sounds like I'll like Eau Givrée. I like grapefruit notes, just not as photorealistic and prominent as in Light Blue Forever.
@@JT-rx1eo Yes, it's certainly not such a departure from the scent it's replacing as I first thought, and if you like the others in the TDH line I think you'll enjoy it. What I especially like is the progression - it doesn't seem like a linear scent to me. It hit the mid, which I initially assumed to be the dry-down, and I was asking myself if I would get bored of the sweetness that seemed would last quite a long time. At that stage, although it didn't smell exactly the same, it gave a similar feeling to Dior's Eau Sauvage Parfum. I was pleasantly surprised to find it continue to evolve and eventually end up resembling Eau Tres Fraiche. It is still easily detected up close on skin about 12 hours later, and not in a tiresome synthetic fashion. I'm blathering on here, you might think I have shares in the company. My summary is basically that it's not necessarily going to surprise or challenge anyone, but if you like the rest of the line, and enjoy fresh, 'natural' smelling citrus scents, with some resins and a touch of spice, this one appears to be one of the nicest in the designer realm. I would call generally it a safe blind buy, although perhaps not in your case due to your concern about the grapefruit.
Hi , thank you for the video👍 it was very interesting to hear reviews about this range editions from the company Hermés . I don’t mind the latest edition- much lighter- less wooden smell , in my imagination this kind of smell will take you in an earlier time of morning , in the warmer weather, when night time is almost gone and we already started to feel how sun is started to raise, a bit mist in an air, but not humid, smell of humid it’s already different tip of smell, to me , I guess it will be original EDT for women from Issey Miyake - it more jungle smells, smell of countries which are located close to women sides of earth… I m working in Parfume business around 15 years , every day I meet a lots of different people, different nationalities, different age groups and what I was discovering for myself for all this years of my experience with working with fragrance- that the best way , if you want to keep the smell of your favourite Parfum without dramatics changing, will be better not to use it on your skin - you can use it on your clothes, scuffs, hair but not close to the roots and if it’s very hot not on the top of your hair , perhaps behind your head but please move your top layer and spray under - in a cooler whether your hear will still have enough warm condition to keep oils from perfume stay open and alive, it’s safe for you and also everyone around will still smell it aroma… it also works very well if you going outside and it’s breezy or windy then it will be always leave a wonderful haze of your perfume behind you. About the spots on the clothes- usually only old Parfums , which already even changed a colour inside the bottle, can leaves the slightly yellowish spots on your light colour clothes or if you are using a very oily fragrance- like essential oils or very expensive fragrance which was based on a strong base - say price for fragrance like that will be around $800 … our skin always will change smell of perfume- some times in a better way, sometimes in the worst. But what about if you really like the smell by itself- the best way do it’s definitely not spray on your skin . I guess that the old way which was suggested to people 100 years ago- to put perfume on your skin - already doesn’t work in our time… lots of things was changed in our lives … Now we all much often have our showers, we can wash our clothes every day and we don’t need to try to cover the bad smells from our bodes like it was for centuries and smells of fragrances was much much stronger , so strong , that not any type of skin could change such a strong aroma😂. In our time lots of things was changed- even many companies with the big names using cheaper ingredients and less oils , which will not keep original smell of perfume on your skin - example - many people, who are using medications for the long time , there skin can easily change smell of there favourite fragrance if they will spray fragrance on there skin , also people who are using lots of spice , garlic, onions in there food - there skin already are no good platform to apply the fragrance on it, and it doesn’t matter how strong or expensive this Parfum will be - smell from the skin will tern all kind of perfume on a nasty side… perhaps a perfume which will include more woody or spicy notes can be blend better with smell of skin like this one. Have a good day ❤️
I agree with everything you said. I think the Eau Givree is a nice scent but the performance is a colossal disappointment. Like you said, it sits close to the skin but I literally have to put on 8-10 sprays sprays to get any kind of performance from it and it's very short lived. After an hour and a half it's a skin scent. I strongly prefer Eau Tres Fraiche and it's sad that it's being phased out. I was one of the first to buy it in the states so I didn't have as much back knowledge of its performance beforehand obviously, but had I known about how weak it is I likely would not have bought the 3.3oz.
Totally diferent perfumes. Givenchy reserve privee is a sweeter and boozier verson of dior homme intense with same performance. Ombre leather is leather, gas and fruity notes. The parfum has super performance
This is basically H24 with a twist. Not a Terre D'Hermes flanker at all. No glimpse of the OG or the other flankers. The more fruity mineral y vibe is H24 in my opinion. For those that loved H24 then this will work. If you hated H24 like I did, then sample first. I blind bought it and it is the only bottled I have bought in the last year that I want to throw in the trash.
I dislike H24, it's a one note stinker in the drydown IMO, opening is not bad though. I didn't smell the connection in Eau Givree strangely... to me it was totally different but I may have missed the link.
I was using the vetiver version which I love, and recently I got the eau givrée one. Strangely enough I got a sample of the same eau givrée in my order, and decided to use the sample first. I was surprised as the smell was nothing like I had read described, it was nothing like summer but very autumn. It had a very strong rotting grapefruit smell, and then wood. Didn't find it too pleasant at first but it grew on me. And then I used the bottle, and it has nothing to do with the sample. It's fresh and exactly like you describe it. Making me think that perhaps they put the wrong one in the sample. I have never tested the original one, but I suspect the sample was the perfume version of the original. Well I'm ordering one so I'll know soon.
Terre. d'Hermès Eau très Fraîche is a masterpiece. Luckily I bought 4 bottles of it. Eau Givrée is too sweet. Can't stand it. I also don't like Eau Vetiver Intense. Terre d'Hermes lost its soul: Jean-Claude Elena.
I bought the Terre d’Hermès After-Shave Lotion. So how does that compare? I love the scent. For me it is good enough but it does not come with a spray top. I read it is just less strong or concentrated than the others. That is basically also what I want since I do not want to smell like a French h00ker. The day I bought it I put on quite a bit since it does not have a spray top. So I think I left a trail of perfume that probably did not go unnoticed :) Which 1 comes closes to the after shave version scent-wise?
Disagreeing, Eau Givree is a lot better to my nose than Eau Tres Fraiche. In fact do not mind at all the latter is getting axed, while very happy finally there is a worthy fresher flanker of TDH.
Terre D Hermes is not a vetiver scent. And Eau Givree is overrated. Pure grapefruit and the Terre DNA hidden. Pleasant to smell but hugely overrated. That's my opinion of course

You have right . You taking right . I have 3 fregances from Hermes . Yes the new one it’s okay not bad. Thank you very much.
I was one of the first to buy it in the states so I didn't have as much back knowledge of its performance beforehand obviously, but had I known about how weak it is I likely would not have bought the 3.3oz.
hi Givenchy Reserve Privee vs Tom Ford Ombre Leather ?
Performance and Sıllage
Totally diferent perfumes. Givenchy reserve privee is a sweeter and boozier verson of dior homme intense with same performance. Ombre leather is leather, gas and fruity notes. The parfum has super performance
Tem dublado ? Sobre esses perfumes?
Tah legendado Tiago, eh so ativar as legendas! TMJ 🤜🤛
Very Nice Max!
Thanks Terry!
Thanks for sharing !!!!!
Thank you for the review
In conclusion, all Hermes men's perfume are nice! All have its own character..
Is anyone of theses a year round fragrance?
Great Video!
Tried this already, still the Original and the Vetiver are better frag from Hermes. Excellent review, though 👏👏👏
Max 👌🏻
I bought the Terre d’Hermès After-Shave Lotion. So how does that compare? I love the scent. For me it is good enough but it does not come with a spray top. I read it is just less strong or concentrated than the others. That is basically also what I want since I do not want to smell like a French h00ker. The day I bought it I put on quite a bit since it does not have a spray top. So I think I left a trail of perfume that probably did not go unnoticed :) Which 1 comes closes to the after shave version scent-wise?
Ship it to me 😁
Hermes love
I have purchased eau givrée (by mistake). I must say that I am deeply disappointed as the fragrance simply doesn't last, unlike the original. ((
Disagreeing, Eau Givree is a lot better to my nose than Eau Tres Fraiche. In fact do not mind at all the latter is getting axed, while very happy finally there is a worthy fresher flanker of TDH.
Nice! I appreciate your feedback - that's the beauty of fragrances Raul - whilst subjective, one man's gem is another's trash and vice-versa! ✌
Well this kind of feedback gives me hope. I'm a big fan of Eau Tres Fraiche and hoping Givrée equals or surpasses it. We'll see.
sounds like you are pulling back from your first thoughts
nu-blends ..... Cheers
much love Richard!
🤩🤩🤩
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
$137 for barely 5h longevity?! No thanks , albeit the quality of the composition.
I guess you must not like smelling good then because you the only person I heard say it's the least favorite from the line
Vetiver smells like mosquito repellent, worst one of the bunch!
It goes to show, taste is subjective - one man's treasure is another one's trash and vice-versa!
I think some spit got on the camera when you pronounced Hermes lol
..
I could swear you were italian or something, not brazilian
Terre D Hermes is not a vetiver scent. And Eau Givree is overrated. Pure grapefruit and the Terre DNA hidden. Pleasant to smell but hugely overrated. That's my opinion of course
Doesnt smell good
BS this is seriously good
Great Video Max!
