    Really wish I had see. This a few weeks ago before we started solids. It gives me peace of mind that it doesn’t look perfect from the beginning. My expectations were definitely way too high 😅

    If millions of babies accross the world did baby led weaning imagine the amount of food wasted.
    Its not for me.
    I don't have the time , money and enwrdy to clean up.
    By the time the baby actually learns to eat without wasting it takes months ,by which time puree fed babies would have alao developes good enough skills to eat unmashed food and with hands.....so nopw not for me ...
    Ill save food and months of not cleaning up the mess by apoon feeding ...and slowly introducing coarse food

    i gave my toothless 8 months old a cuke cut per BLW and she somehow managed to take a bite out of it… a scary chocking hazard looking bite. I had to scoop it out of her mouth i was terrified. She also just smooshes food and then makes it not appropriate bite sized. So i am so confused how is this method safe??? I cut the pieces per BLW all i want but she breaks them up with her hands and then makes it a chocking hazard…

    we started doing blw at 7 months and now babe is 8.5 months. Not eating much to be honest. Only licking, playing and nibbling.

      It takes most babies around 8 weeks of BLW before they really get the hang of self-feeding. I know it can be brutally slow but hang in there....if I had to bet I would say the next 2 weeks will bring it all together for your baby! -Katie

      My baby was just sucking on food and then spitting it out. Until 9 months she finally learned the process of actually swallowing food!

    I started late, at around 11 months. Should i simply adjust my approach and expectations to match a 6 month old? Or are there other things i should factor in?

    I feed my baby on a blanket the floor with a little table that goes over their lap. (Like a tv tray) how does this affect the choking risk you mention in the 'common mistakes' video?

  • @lisam9490
    @lisam9490 Месяц назад +1

    Why make them chew without teeth?? We don't force adults to eat without dentures. If anyone knows the importance of chewing - they would be totally against this. Forcing a baby to swallow unchewed food is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Self feeding - no problem- but soft, pre-mashed foods. If teeth? Go for it. No teeth - just stop with the whole chicken drumsticks ok?

    I ‘ve started blw to my baby at 10 months. Is it to late to train? And my baby cry or scream when the meal started and doesn’t even touch the food😢

      ideally for safe high chair positioning try to get baby's waist at a 90 degree angle, knees at a 90 degree angle and ankles at a 90 degree angle

    Can you still spoon feed while doing BLW...can you combine both worlds?

    • @babyledweaning
      @babyledweaning  Год назад +3

      Hi Grace, thanks for the question! I like to use the pre-loaded spoon method created by SLP Dawn Winkelmann for purees or foods eaten with a spoon. This allows babies to continue to practice self-feeding + working on some spoon skills 😊
