I think an interesting thing to note is that in games where demons can evolve, Angels can progess through most of the rankings in the christian hierarchy.
I always keep the first one I get and evolve it all the way up. It is so worth it, especially when Cherubim fusions lead to the top tier demons!

While I get the appeal of the Nocturne Angel, I personally prefer the more modest one from SMT 1. And also the absolutely adorable one from Demkids, who totally should have a plushie. I mean just look at her! She looks like something straight out of a fantasy children's anime!
Higher ranking orders of angels are often described as looking like Lovecraftian horrors? After replaying Bayonetta, I don't doubt that for a second.

I don't like the current look of the angels, not because I dislike her design per se (I actually really like it), but because it doesn't really fit with the aesthetics of the Law alignment and the other divines. I could understand if they used Angel's design for some special type of divine (fallen angel, maybe?), but I think the classic "woman in robes" look is more fitting.
Well, I see were you are coming from, though you could argue that a submissive angel that accepts their lowly status despite its apparent shamefulness, and quietly obeys to their Lord and Superior also fits the Law Alignment well, though in a more negative way.

yes, I agree, but still think that they look a bit out of place. After all, SMT is known for being mostly faithful to the aesthetics of the cultures it takes its demons from, and I've never seen an angel painted like that. I would have accepted it had the whole divine clan looked different.

I think the leather angel design also has some inspiration from the cover for the song "hot limit" by tm revolution. The outfit and pose are sort of the same.

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Angel has a brand new design! This time, they're much more painted-esqe, with a flowing robe, perfectly unmoving wings, a gold spear, and a creepy iron mask with a big metal halo. (So there goes Strain's comment about how Angel's Devil Children design is the only one with a halo...) Personally, I really like this new Angel design. It's fittingly angelic, but at the same time a little unsettling, with its unfeeling mask. Angel is the first demon the Protagonist actually sees upon entering Da'at, as a pair of them found him and Ichiro Dazai, before they fly off with Dazai.
Persona 5 the Phantom X: Angel has another new design, being censored for China - her black straps have been upgraded to a black sports top lookin' thing, and black briefs. Personally, I don't really like it.

Angels are sometimes considered to be emissaries of the Demiurge. After all they appear in the Old Testament.
Why didn't you mention the fact that she evolves into the Archangel, and is best to keep in order to get Cherubim.
