I actually highly considered using clips from that movie in this episode anytime I discussed what Mara looked like, but it ended up making the episode needlessly long and hard...err...confusing. But still, I probably coulda kept one XD
@@strain42 fair enough, not everyone likes long videos. It’s not about the size of the video, it’s how you use it.
I'll never forget the first time I encountered Mara in a Persona game. It was towards the end of the final dungeon of vanilla Persona 5. Not only was I thrust into battle against a giant penis monster, but at one point, he got hit with a status ailment, slumped over, and said: "Are you my grandkid?" I wasn't sure whether to be disgusted or bursting into hysterical laughter.

Mara being in tower isn't just because dick, The Tower arcana is suppose to be devastation that brings insight. Which loosely ties into Mara attempting to be a force of devastation that serviced as part of Buddha's enlightenment.
Just as well, Chariot arcana is about impulse control though focus, Reversed being a lack of focus and impulsiveness off. Mara being a pretty much the embodiment of that. So, might tie into his design to even if he got put in tower for both a dick joke and his role in the stories around buddha.
The NA release of Strange Journey Redux DLC also had one of the ATLUS USA members post a demon password on the subreddit "thanks r/megaten" that would give a level 88 Mara, yeah that was perfect
The Eechi Demon himself in all his LONG and HARD glory. Also Edit I gotta admit your Video on this Iconic nay Infamous demon was pretty informative not just on the Real life Mara but on his design now granted I knew his very Phallic design in addition to his chariot with it's large back wheel's which are Cleary made to evoke testes is tied into his nature as an embodiment of lust and temptation but I never knew it was a cheeky visual pun on Kaneko's part. Also if you cover Arioch please lay of the corny genital puns but I have to be honest Atlus really seems to love making fun of the fact he is a big ol' measuring stick as his Dx2 entry demonstrates.
I remember when I was playing Apocalypse I was trying to fuse Matador with phys passive skills and null ice but in the middle of all of that I got Mara through a fusion accident. I was going to just reload my save and redo the whole thing again but the thing is, he got the phys passive skills and null ice and he originally has Hell Thrust which is a really great phys move and I was tempted to keep him in the party instead of getting Matador. I kept a save file to compare them to see who's better but Mr. Red Capote was the winner. That was the first time I encountered the dude in the series.
Good work by the way I really like your videos and you've became one of my favorite content creators lately. And also, I hope that Chu Chulainn will get an episode he's one of my favorite demons in the series.

Welp... good to mention that in my language, "Mara" is a word for "Apparition" or a female wraith. Usually in reference to the "Night mares", as in spirits that torment you at night.
