Thank you again for your terrific reaction. I agree John Farnham is the best singer in the world! His backing vocalists and entire band are always on point as well!! xoxo
Jack Jones and Phil Buckle from Southern Sons was the guitarist on this tour , Brett Garsed wasn’t available for Chain Reaction tour Brett was in the US as member of the band Nelson at that time . This is originally a Mondo Rock from 1983 song John asked lead singer Ross Wilson to write him a song & Ross just offered him A Touch Of Paradise to cover . The same happened again with the Age Of Reason album with the song We No Angels was also a Mondo Rock original.
Venetta Fields, backing vocals to greats Aretha Franklin, Tina turner, the doors, Barbra Streisand, Niel Diamond, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd to name a few. She has backed John for years and says he is the best male vocalist she has ever worked with.
Thanks for your very enthusiastic reactions of our John. John would be stoked to know that you were singing along with him. This concert the backup singers were Venetta Fields, Charles (Chuck) McKinney who sadly passed away in 1994, and Lisa Edwards and over on his own to the left is one of John's regular backup singers Mr Lindsay Field. This follwoing URL is of John introducing all of the members on stage for this concert. It is definitely worth viewing as it shows John's high regard and appreciation for those he works with. ruclips.net/video/zAI4cz_neGk/видео.html. Keep up the great reactions Torben
I would love to see you react to some John Farnham songs you haven't heard 😄 (if there are any out there because you're clearly a fan like the rest of us) 🎉 cheers
John Farnham is always better live - the vocals are always studio quality if not better (often he belts out live in a way he doesn't do in the studio version), and his stage presence and charisma just add so much to his performances as well!
Thanks for another John reaction! I'd love to see some John with LRB - Reminiscing is my favourite ( /watch?v=iYgh_Irk46M ), closely followed by We Two ( /watch?v=dxPILjZlLlE - video is slightly out of sync at times unfortunately). Hopefully RUclips leaves my comment up if I put the links in this way instead of fully! Also, the other backing vocalists here are Venetta Fields, who you'll see in almost every one of his performances since the 80s (worth looking her up, she's sung with some other greats as well), and I believe the man here is Chuck McKinney, who unfortunately died quite young in 1994. John's other regular male backing vocalist was Lindsay Field, who is actually playing guitar and the little mini bell/cymbal in this song. I think in this concert/tour he played acoustic guitar as well as singing, hence not in the backup singer lineup as he usually was. Lindsay started with John in the 80s, and was still with John at his last performance just before Covid hit. Venetta would have been as well if she wasn't in her 80s and retired!
Looking Through a Tear from his Jack of Hearts tour is lovely. Otherwise Age of Reason from the concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is a must.
One of the backing singers is Vanetta Field. You should check out her singing Amazing Grace with John. She is a fantastic singer in her own right and has backed John for decades.
Its wonderful to see such enthusiasm and joy as you react to all these performances from Farnsey. He is special isn't he. I think everyone touched on the regular backing vocalists. But you will also note that base guitarist, Wayne Nelson the tall balding guy who followed John from THE Little River Band also sings back up as does Jack Jones with the very long hair and playing rhythm guitar. Jack went on to become the lead singer for another Aussie Band called Southern Sons. And Wayne went on to be the lead singer for the reformed Little River Band which are still performing back in the US now. Check out Southern Sons with Hold me in Your Arms. Jack was influenced by John and many people say that he sounds a lot like John as well. There are times when you can definately hear it. But possibly not as much in this song. m.ruclips.net/video/Dho9t25jcq0/видео.html As for another song from John try Love's in Need ..it's accapella and the whole band joins in singing .... m.ruclips.net/video/9m8-dc6FlCI/видео.html
Love Is in Need -a capella with his whole band so you can see the massed talent on stage with him. Also We’re no Angels from Classic Jack Live with stellar guitar solo by Brett Garsed.
Surely one of the best love songs ever written and performed by one of the best singers of his time.
Enjoy singing along with John. I’m sure he’d enjoy it. At his concerts everyone sang along with him and he encouraged it.

Great reaction appreciate your love and respect of John ❤❤
We here in Aus are extremely proud of our John. It's great to hear a singer who appreciates the quality of such an incredible vocalist.
Agreed. Best singer in the world for mine too.
You’re a true fan of John Farnham so I had to subscribe
Great choice Torb and great reaction, this song sounds better every time I listen to it.

My go to song to bliss out. Every day I would put this song on 🔁 for my drive home in peak hour traffic. I even have a Christmas album by John.
Such a beautiful song and phenomenal performance

I’ve only listened to the studio version of this.
But this live is amazing!
And this is a gorgeous song

Venetta Fields was also an Ikette for Tina and Ike Turner.
Lindsay Field is the other
