I went from Strathfield to Richmond airbase, on all 3 days; Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was the highlight of my life, being able to actually see the aircraft I'd only seen pictures of, in books/magazines, while growing up in Fiji.
I really enjoyed this airshow at Richmond. I was there as ground crew with the RAAF Roulettes Aerobatic Team deployed from RAAF Base East Sale. This was the last time the Roulettes flew as a full five ship Aeromaachi team prior to converting to the PC9.
Wow! Magnificent filming! Right on th nose! 😊 very kool! I was but a kid at this. My Father worked in aviation for 40 years at Bankstown H.D.H. 🤘🏼🇦🇺🤘🏼❤️
Great footage, I was at that airshow in 1988. I recorded a lot of footage myself, unfortuantely, I no longer have the mini vhs tape cassette. This video is great to watch as it brings back a lot of memories of that day. Thanks for uploading.
I had the privilege of being at RAAF Base Pearce when the beautiful Macchi was being phased out. Great memories and an awesome plane to watch fly. Sad we can't keep one flying today but thanks for the video as it brought back great memories. Thank you :)
Great day, I was 14 at the time and had been to Farnborough two years earlier seeing planes like the Blackbird among others, but this was still a great day out on home shores!
