- The arrival of the first two F18s from the USA at RAAF base Williamtown on the 17th of May, 1985.
For originality, the titles are the original ones on the tape I made up in 1985; the National A-2 VHS camera had a titling function that had 4 lines of 16 characters per line, which required preplanning on paper to get the titles centred (plus or minus one character!). Fun times compared to the ease of today's editing. :)
Awesome.. thanks from across the ditch 👍🇳🇿✈️
Ah, the classic hornet, that is a sexy airframe!
Still got my US/Williamtown stamped "First Day Cover" signed by the 4 pilots.
15 hours in a F-18 ? That's gonna hurt.

Aussie customs (AQIS) is more interested in dairy and meat products!
Why not say 3 billion dollars instead of 3000 million?
Australians
Must have used the "long scale" back then. Everyone uses "short scale" now
Because that was fairly common language in the early 80s.
Mirage still has the edge in the looks department ;)
High protein, low residue diet. Good idea for my through hikes...
steak and eggs.

Today we're fighting a different war in this country. Parents prosecuted or villified for parenting their children. People ostracized for saying 'Blackmans Bay', 'Coon cheese' or 'breast feeding '. I bet when they purchased those F18s all those years ago they had no idea what enemy the Australian citizen would actually come up against.
Cry here or go cry in your car, boomer. Why is it the baby boomer generation is so sooky??? Toughen up, princess, and change with the times. It's not 1952 any more.
