Welcome to the new build for the channel, this #salvage #hyundai #i30n which I have bought at auction ready to restore and modify.
I purchased this fwd hot hatch with no keys as a non-runner one of the first jobs to do is try and get the car started.

For the Apple car play system to work you have to plug a USB cable into your car and phone

I had one, enjoyed the drive but they have nice seats and nice steering wheel rest of the interior is soo cheap, much prefer a gti as an all rounder

I think it’s a good buy and resale should be easy for most young people in the market, something different from other RUclipsrs isn’t a bad thing too.

I used to sell these at the dealership and I always loved driving these! They are quite rare, but if one pops up at a good price I will buy it to use 😃

I've wanted one of these since they first came out but I've never been able to quite afford one with few enough miles on the clock for my liking, their residual values are crazy! Funnily enough I've seen 2 out on the road in the last 2 days. Lovely motors 👌
Great video and Great Content Chris! I think you should do a facelift front end and current i30n bucket seats. You can also customise the engine sound, suspension stiffness and so on through the N mode
When it was launched in 2017 the I30N beat the golf GTI and Cupra in every way. To get the same included standard equipment the Hyundai came with you had to spend over £6000 more on the Golf GTI. The Hyundai could catch a Golf Club Sport on a track and stay behind it it just lacked a bit more power to pass the Club Sport. Wheel tramp and weight were possibly its only weaknesses but it did have a 5 year warranty which included track use. I loved my 2017 I30N I bought 6 months old especially when it sounded so much better than all the other hatch backs. My Audi S3 auto was quick but nowhere near as much fun to drive.
No way, so glad you’ve got an i30n, more enjoyable to look at than the bland golf rs gtis n m140is/135is. The new i20n is stunning as well, theyve changed the game. Fun fact the designer that was in M sport for bmw moved over to hyundai and created these masterpieces

Cracking cars. I’ve had them since release in early March 2018. Both the manual and the DCT version. Lovely cars.

I bought one new and tracked it 3 days/600 miles later at Anglesey. Did 6 track days before selling it for a GR Yaris. Was a good car but you can feel the weight in it, plus syncro on 5th to 6th can be dodgy. Oh and it did 8mpg on track.

Hyundai did a fab job for their first ever hot hatch; poaching Albert Berman from BMW’s M division was a bit of a masterstroke on their behalf.
I really like these; for a four cylinder they make a very naught noise.
You will love it, i got the facelift and i must say it drives so much nicer compared to a gti

They're not very tunable, you can get them to 310 320 max without having to upgrade the turbo.
Yeah agree with the other comment, they aren't very tunable. Costs a decent amount to get it to 320bhp. Whereas the Honda Type R (FK2 or FK8) can get near 400bhp for the same price.
It's great when someone choose other options than the usual german brands.

Great cars these,very underrated and a good price for crash damaged. Only bad thing is that rear quarter as it does look probably worse than it is but a good bodyshop should sort it out if the rear doors open&close alright
Everyone goes golf or bmw. I quite like the i30n and wouldn't mind owning one In the future. For now I currently have my leon cupra 290 :)
The apple car play and android auto is to be used with a date cable near the wireless charge pad. I have one myself great car! Great engine to modify!
One thing to check is the gearbox synchros. Not alot of people realise how good they are and what more would you expect when it was developed by the same guy who ran the Mperformance division

The apple car play doesn't work because you have to plug your phone in I think (but I think this is the least of your troubles 😂).

I reckon it spun out on the motorway as it has barrier damage marks on back bumper. It took the heavier hit on the front.

I quite like the I30N nice looking car
About the seating position I highly doubt its from the original owner as this car is likely been to an insurance body shop to get assessed and then written off as the damage through insurance would have been about 17-20k to get fixed. The insurance companies only work up to 70-80% of cars value on HPI.
Did you buy this car from Co part ? You should have the key if it has been through insurance , its quite normal to see the car few months down the line in salvage auction not straight away as often owners are not happy with the payout and the going back and forth with the insurance company takes a few months sometimes and the car just sits at the bodyshop. So someone at the bodyshop or salvage auction has lost the key.
This car is from the same town where I live, but I don't recall seeing it around. Looks like the previous owner bought it back in May 2022 so didnt have it long before he crashed in it October 22.

I think that the issue with apple carplay is that its a plug in apple carplay rather then wireless, Try plugging your phone in next time and check if it works.
These came to my attention last year when at Donington Park race circuit to watch World Superbikes, sounded awesome and looked to handle very well, albeit in the hands of a racing driver.
Good lad, these cars are defo moving up in the world. I do alot of work with these and kia and once you get it up and running you will be surprised. The apple car play will work but you have to plug the phone is aswell. Good luck with this build mate.

FYI : You can't even crack the window in my 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz without rain coming in. Had to but vent shades for it. So you might want to pull that vent shade back out the garbage.
