Had the wheels refurbed and did other work on it, yet had never seen the boot floor? Got access to the locking wheel nut though 😂
He definitely checked and knew about it. It's a basic check anyone would do never mind a mechanic.
@@jimmymcgoo8641 I think Calvin really let him off the hook there, and wasn’t bothered about the fact that he probably knew about the floor. It made a decent video, that’s all he’s bothered about. He’s happy and so is the ex owner 😂👍🏻

Alarm bells be going off when he said the chassis rails are not bent, yet didn’t see the boot floor damage, don’t make sense… never the less it’s still a cheap car and would make a good track toy!

So he knows it doesn’t need anything due to having it on the ramp and fully inspected, but he didn’t notice the MASSIVE dent at the back? Doesn’t add up, extremely generous offer imo.

He did seem genuine to an extent because I find it difficult to believe he had no idea about the damage to the boot floor, since it’s been on ramps ect and I doubt it’s damage that would be missed. Plus maybe it’s just me but I’d assume everyone has lifted their boot floor up at one point in time. Maybe I’m wrong.
Before the price was discussed, I was thinking £10000. Calvin was more than fair with his offer.
I might be misjudging the lad, but I’m sure he knew about the boot floor, and his body language when he said he was losing a lot of money ( hand to face). My guess is he bought it as salvage and repaired it himself.

Why would you spend £700 on a tune then sell it 2 weeks later?? Either he spotted the boot floor or there's something else.

Had my car i30n mapped to 365 bhp, month later I got rid of the car, happens mate. Undercar weather protector covers the majority of the back and front side of the car. Easily possible to miss it

@@jacklifeonwheels I've worked on plenty, had 3 i30n's, serviced etc. When checking for damage you're mainly looking at the structual bracing. Not the under body. Also, who goes in the boot liner LOL, I've not once opened it in 4 cars.
Definately knew about the boot floor, definately only paid £12k for it himself, and wanted to get that money back! Calvin is too nice for his own good!👍
I've got the Facelift i30N and its an absolutely unreal motor. Fair play to you on taking a risk with this salvaged one and hopefully its nothing more than the boot floor. Earned my sub here, great video and a generous offer considering all parties 👍

I had an i30n performance from new in 2019 and loved the car - on long journeys it still managed 43/44 mpg - I got rid of the p zero’s within 2 months and put pilot sport 4S’ on all round and it made a massive difference
My personal opinion is he fixed it himself and is trying his look because I'm not having it he has never looked under the carpet in the boot but its just my opinion
Car looks pretty well sorted except that boot floor. New refurbed wheels, Michelins, brakes etc - he’s spent cash in the right places. Glad you did a deal and the seller seemed to be a good guy.
At least you know a good body shop!
Fair play Calvin. I think you've given the lad a fair price there. You can see he's loved it and spent money on it and it's a nice car especially for a cat S. I think once repaired you'll come out of it ok. Most other dealer would've rinsed the him there.

Just been reading the comments, this chap said he’s done the servicing himself since he’s owned it therefore he’s been underneath it and he works at a dealer, he has access to a ramp so surely he knows about the boot floor because that would be noticeable from the underneath!

If that car was up on a ramp you would spot that right away. Looks dodgy to me, even struggling with the story of going from previous car to this one. I’m no mechanic but I would have spotted that when buying a used car. Great video Calv as always 👍

I don't know how you could miss that boot floor and in fairness it would be one of the things to check if you was buying it because even on camera you can tell it's had paint, if it's a genuine mistake buying it and didn't know if i was him i'd not buy another car i'd get someone who knows what they doing to look over a future car

Bro worked at Hyundai for a while saw many gearbox issues some of which were these. They are cheaply built cars and it shows in some areas.
