In this video i'm going to show how to remove the pan and change the transmission filter in this 05 chevy express 3500.

The process is very similar to many trucks and vans that have the 4L80E transmission, and similar ones.

Ok so you shouldn't make videos. Its not your thing! You made no effort here to show video of the filter actually being removed. Thats what is needed. You showed a picture of the filter which everyone can find on amazon. You also didn't show the bracket being taken out. Sorry but plenty of people here make very thorough and comprehensive instruction videos. And that becomes the standard thats expected. Less is disappointing!

My 2000 Chevy 3500 has a drain plug from the factory, very helpful.

Was this transmission the 4L60e in the Chevrolet Express, just wondering because some places say you need to loosen the exhaust and others say no. I know on GM pickup truck with 4x4, Tahoe you need to loosen the exhaust. I have a 2005 Chevy Express 1500 5.3 with the 4L60e, I just have not looked at it yet but want to change the fluid and filter myself Thanks and keep the great videos coming

I got a few quotes to change my tranny fluid and filter, both being over $200 . I cannot justify paying this cost when I only have to wait unit warmer weather comes along and can do it myself

Hi, How many quarts of transmission fluid do I need?

The 4l60 E trans takes 5 quarts, the 4L80E takes 6 to 7.7 quarts. From my Hanes repair book. They say to measure the amount that drained and use that amount, some fluid wont drain.
