Just ordered the same knife this morning. Didn't know about the titanium bolstered one until I was going through Knifecenter's webpage. I was gonna get the version with the waves but I seen this one and fell in love with it.

It’s the best version to me. Only upsides. Downside is $25 for titanium and micarta. Not a bad upgrade price.

I think BladeHQ had an upgraded steel version with carbon fiber scales and it was around $199. I went for this version, and the all Ti handle version. EDIT - just checked there, and it's out of stock but it's an S35VN model with the title, "CJRB Pyrite BHQ Exclusive Ti Button Lock Knife Purple Haze Fat Carbon (3.1" PVD)"

Yes. A good one too. Same with the Kizer Original I believe.

The knife is fine as it is, mate. I'm sure it will sell well without the need of upgrades.

Probably does. The handle material and design was something that went wonderfully with the base platform of an excellent knife. I personally like the upgrades and the mix-n-match capabilities the different forms allow.
I’m glad you like the knife!

I ordered this version (with the titanium bolster) specifically with the idea of making my own wood scales to put on it to truly make it my own.

I’m poor too! I just don’t have kids or enough of a life outside of knives! 🤣
And the $50-$80 range are some incredible knives these days!!!

How long did you have to wait? KC keeps saying Delays by manufacturer on that same version

It was a bit. They seem to get them in batches and they just send out as fast as they can. There’s also the new stabilized wood version now too, if you can get in on the preorder. @knifecenter
is there any info on those?

@@adoseofdrew it's worse when you are weighing out dabs that are the consistency of peanut butter, talk about a mess. Had to trash a few sets from that.

@@OnlyGamingClips 😂 blue lube or good ol’ rubbing alcohol are my best recommendations for that

    Great video!
I know you mentioned "good detent" but how strong is yours? I love my KC exclusive pyrite, but the detent is so soft that I can barely flick my wrist and the blade flies out.
Mine also has button stick and does not make even close to the "ding" sound of yours when opened. Sound muted and slow.
So I feel there are QC issues and different people will receive different levels of quality from the same knife.

I can’t speak to any other examples. Either way, it’s a small sample size. It may be that yours was an outlier, or mine was. I haven’t seen bad reviews, and most reviews of the standard Pyrite are pretty good. It’s one of the reasons I wanted the dealer special, to be honest. I have had several instances of hit-or-miss with dealer-special QC across brands.
I always like it when I get the good side of that spread though 😎👍🏼🙏🏼🖖🏻

I forgot to answer your question about detent. It’s a bit heavier, but mine is tuned somewhere between my Para 3 LtWt. and a Civivi Elementum on wrist-flick ease. It’s definitely tighter than my standard Bugout.

@@adoseofdrew Thanks for the reply! I have seen mostly positive reviews too, but I have read people complaining about both extremely hard and extremely light detent in forums and some customer reviews too... in contrast to the consistency in youtube knife reviewers.
I guess what I meant is that it seems inconsistent, so quality control seems to be hit or miss. I absolutely love everything about this knife other than the detent on mine. No biggie. I'm sure I can just open mine up and mess with the spring.
I'm so glad yours is tuned just right. Thanks again for the reply!
