I haven't posted a comment yet but feel I should and say THANK YOU for sharing your process! I actually watch your videos EVERY single night until I fall asleep, LOL! I love hearing the pallet knife on the canvas! I love hearing the mixing and feel I am absorbing your inspiration as you call out the colors you mix! I am a HUGE fan of your videos and this Texas USA girl, LOVES the beautiful views you give us in every video as well 💝
Hi Richard, wow fantastic colors, love to watch your color mixing skills, great words "the last light of the day when you feel anything is possible" thank you 👍😊
I also paint and 80% with the palette knife. I really like the way you use it to create shapes, shadows ... really good. I come from a family of naive painters, I do not adopt this technique, but I have always painted in oil and still today it is my favorite pastime. a warm greeting and good luck!
Really beautiful painting, sir! Fantastic job! Or "Fantastic stuff!" as you said. Amazing art! Brilliant colours and technique! You're a real master! I love it. All the best! Greetings from the EU! xx
Full of life. I’ve just tried using the pallet like you did. Oh dear! You make it look easy. A pop of colour here, smudge there and you have a masterpiece. What a mess I’ve ended up with. Hopefully when it dries off a little I’ll be able to fix it. I’ve already scraped the canvas twice :). Thank you for the inspiration.
COBRA VIDA!!! Me encanta el estilo.
Hi Richard, thanks for another valuable lesson and also the importance of that last 40 seconds of daylight and its importance. Your corrugated studio reminds me of the film the Bridge on the river Kwai and the prisoners in the corrugated huts sweltering away in the heat. Just like you when your on a role getting that paint on... (hope you take no offence to my remark).. Will come back to this one as a lot of learning and great techniques. Thanks, Bill
Your paintings are always beautiful. If I painted with a pallet knife, I would spend about $500 for paint on one large painting. Ha ha. My paint runs around 20-65 dollars for 40m tubes. I will probably stick to brushes. Painting materials here really went up this last year. I learn a lot by watching your painting tutorials. Thanks Richard Keep up the good work--- really enjoy **ps.. Richard what’s the benefits of painting on LINEN INSTEAD OF CANVAS??? THA KS RICHARD
G'day my friend, what a delightful display of vivid colour and tone to accentuate the sunset lit landscape. As you say, often the opposite view from a sunset gives a different feel than looking into it. Then we see the delicate tones on the sky and the play of light across the landscape and hills and highlighting the faces of the trees. It is surely a magical time of day to dally with one's passion. Another masterclass showing your knife skills and attention to composition and form. Can't wait for the next one Richard. Cheers, Rich
Absolutely fantastic Richard! I have learned so much from your videos. I took up palette knife painting last spring after watching you, and sold every one I did last summer! Got a long way to go compared to your amazing skill but it's a fun challenge! Thanks so much for all the info. (p.s. I even ordered Art Spectrum paint cans like you use, they work great!) From Canada, Cheers!
Hi Darryl, If you are still around. Could you please let me know where you got the Art Spectrum cans of paint? Thanks very much. I live in Darwin and nobody sells them here.
