Hard to tell from the video, but it looks like it may also have a "pancake" body which was a common construction method of Gibson in the 70's. The Japanese copies of the 70's would, in some instances, copy that detail. My guess is that it's a Japanese copy from the 70's. I'd remove the pickups and see what they have for markings. Also remove the back plate and check the markings on the pots for more clues. The Japanese copies also replicated the head stock shape so that's a common feature.
Might be one of the japanese lawsuit Les Paul clones produced in Japan. Since the neck is bolted, I assume it might come from the late '70s (pretty common for that era). My educated guess, mainly looking at the shape of the headstock: it's an Ibanez You might find other clues on the back of the pickups, in the cavities or in the back of the neck/in the neck pocket.
The body seems to be somewhat of a les paul custom style too though because of the amount of binding and block inlay The color is definitely something you would mostly see in on a standard though
after watching the video again it seems to me that this guitar has originated most likely from japanese factory overseas. the bolt on with the bolt screws are a dead giveaway. plus the triple binding instead of double binding makes it a custom les paul style build. i like the looks of it so far
Have you taken it apart yet? Take the neck off, pickups etc maybe you'll find some markings or numbers somewhere or at least get a better look at the wood & build quality... either way looks like a good garage sale find!! If it sounds good, it is good! Right?
The bell cover over rod adjustment has 3 screws indication Chibson. Same as Bridge and tailpiece screws are not flat head. Allen wrench is used on real LP's
The bridge and pickup rings are metric in style and assuming the guitar is original, if all of the patina is original and pairs with the rest of the hardware than the pickups along with all of the gold hardware is likely original to that guitar but doubtably pulled off of a Gibson. Lawsuit era LP’s are phenomenal nevertheless, enjoy it!
I had one that looked very similar that was made sometime in the early 80s. It was a no name branded Les Paul copy with a bolt on neck. Sunburst finish in lay in the first fret. Only difference is on my neck the heel was a lot closer to the body.
This allows you to customize it with the pickups you like best and the way you like best without worrying about the value, you can truly make it your own and everyone knows that Gibson quality is not the best so so enjoy. Plus I liked the idea of a bolt on neck I read somewhere that the reason Leo Fender made Bolt on necks was out of practicality if you accidentally break a neck it is simple to replace. So if you break a neck order a new one online from 1 of many websites and you have a replacement with a lot less hassle of a neck repair
That hardware is definitely not from a Gibson. That type of bridge is what would be on an Asian made copy. No Gibson bridge has flathead screws in the bridge It's not that high of quality, its the same bridge used on most import copies The same with the pickups. They don't sound like Gibson pickups and you can't tell from looking at the cover what type of pickups there are. There are literally hundreds of copies of PAF style pickups made to look like the originals. This is also a Sunburst Les Paul Custom copy, not a Standard. The multi ply binding, binding on the back of the body, split diamond headstock, inlays, are all Custom specs, not Standard.
You’re gonna gave to open it up to get more info…that is definitely not a Gibson bridge…my best guess would be late ‘70s or early ‘80s Japanese…aria or Ibanez or who knows!!!
i picked up one just like that several years ago at a pawn shop for 75 bucks it was a great little guitar i wish i hadnt swapped it off those are pretty cool guitars i think its a Hondo 2
Hey Every Single Guitars! I don't really have an overwhelming knowledge of guitars, but I play around with two of them, one of them being a Squier Strat and the other an Epiphone Les Paul. How much did you pay for it? Maybe it would a hell of a lot more if you had bought it at a guitar store. I'm just guessing there. It definitely sounds nice. Hope you get some good use out of it!
Definitely an interesting Guitar! I’ve seen a bunch of off brand style Les Paul Customs but none with a bolt on neck! Or a legit Gibson headstock without a logo It’s definitely nice though! And sounds good! I would maybe try looking up to see if they’re are any similar like yours! Loved the video! And quick question have you tried any of the newer Epiphone LP Customs? If not maybe you should do a review for it!

Why do some Ibanez lawsuit headstocks have their name branded on it, and others don’t?

Looks like one of the Japanese Les Paul copies.

Also, the next time you change the strings, pull the pickups out. See if someone wrote anything in the cavity

The “CUSTOM” truss rod cover is very similar to what Ibanez was using in the 70s. I think it’s Japanese.

Check the mother board / pots and check serial #'s. Might have a replaced neck.

Who thinks this is a Gibson ?
That guitars been played quite a bit you can see is aware on the fretboard so then pick ups might be the ones that came with it
thats a fake ass chibson!
Wow《☆》Congratulations👍✔It's a Nice LesPaul. I prefer a bolt on neck. The pole pieces on the pickups look larger than Gibson PAFs so they're copies🖖🤓🏈
70s/80s MIJ Les Paul clone…
Bolt on Gibsons, Gibson WRC, Gibson Sonex, Gibson Marauder...

That bridge is a cheap bridge it’s not a Gibson bridge it’s more like Epifoam bridge screwdriver style
That’s a Korean/China made guitar. Most likely a Burny. Those are solid guitars. You got yourself a fantastic knock off. Good job.
Burney's are marked.
