should have tested them with the K2 Thraxis boots. 😂
I have a 22-23 K2 Thraxis and the 22-23 Rome Black Label Bindings. My Thaxis, one of the BOA dials broke (after tens days worth of use), at Mount Hood Oregon, and I replaced the boot with my new 22-23 Burton SLX.
I have had the pleasure of pairing those two with a Bataleon Thunderbolt. You won’t feel any chatter, but on hard bumpy-snow, you can get bucked-around a little.
😂😂😂
Thanks for your take Anukulous.
@hazmatite 😂 Made my day!
😂😂😂
I put the 22/23 black labels on my Ride Berzerker and couldn’t be happier. The dampness of the board works great with the response and shock absorption that the bindings provide.
That's a great pairing and thanks for your take.
Just bought a set of the Katanas to pair with my Dart +.
Nice! That should pair up well.
Very good review, it seems that Rome (katanas) is stepping in more into your reviews. Will you replace the Atlas? I agree with your Rome tech review. I honestly have thrown the towel with my Atlas, they lack cushioning and kill my old joints. I have gone to the Katanas and Select Pros. Good response as Atlas, but a ton more cushion.
Great question. You know I recommend these Rome Katanas a lot but at this point I won't replace my Atlas. I have been considering adding 3 or 4 Katana's to the quiver though to compliment the Atlas as I still think both have advantages over the other. I love the shock absorption and response versatility of the Katana. However I still love the dampness, ride feel and extra stance width adjustability of the full size discs (especially for set back inserts) of the Atlas.
I really would love it if Union keeps the rubber on the bottom but ads a softer foam on the top like they have with the Force and Force Classic. Or if the New Force ads the rubber bottom from the Atlas. That would be my perfect binding.
I have a Capita mercur snowboard. I ride all over the mountain. Which bindings fit better? Rome Katana/Black Label or Nitro Team Pro?
I would probably go with the Katana of the three. Maybe the Phantom +. Review is coming but damp, responsive and shock absorbent.
Will you be testing the Bataleon Astro bindings at any point? i'm convinced that when you try the Astro Fullwraps you will switch off the atlas. my purchase doesn't feel complete without your review :'(
I'll try to get on them. They seem massively similar to Rome and I really like their designs as of late. I won't be able to use a hybrid mini disc for what I do though. I need full size discs with better stance width adjustability for the set back inserts I test and own. I did just switch from the Atlas to the new Force as my tester bindings last week Moving forward that is my ride.
It’s the same as the Rome but better damper footbeds(on the Astros) and way better straps. Very interesting that you switched to forces they definitely need to add some shock absorption to the atlas to make it complete
Hope I can get ahold of em. Yeah for sure. Thats why I switched. That rubber on the bottom and then softer eva foam on the top would have been perfect.
I have 2 pairs of Astro FW and a pair of Atlas. Astro gets the nod imo
Has anyone else ever had part of the foam bedding coming off? The piece under the toe strap on my Katana came off and I’ve tried 4 different glues from Loctite to Gorilla Glue and nothing seems to hold it to the base of the binding.
Can you send some pics to me through thegoodride.com so I can see what you are talking about? I'll send to Rome too.
@@thegoodridesnow Will do
@@thegoodridesnow Also I forgot to mention that this is an issue I’m having with my Katanas, not Black Labels, but they seem to have the same cushioning design on the bottom.
Do you notice the pivot mount getting loose ever?
I didn't in a few weeks of testing but most bindings need to be checked every month or so of riding.
At least they are not expensive 😂
These bindings do have a very unique and energetic flex and snap to tnem, gotta disagree about dampness though, the atlas is not a damp binding at all... they are worse than ESTs for feeling every micro vibration and wrecking your knees..
Thanks for your take but in order to help others you should share what boots and boards are on either side of the Atlas?
