That was one rock solid phenomenal review thank you 🤙
Keep up the great work!!! You're videos are extremely helpful and I enjoy how much you get into all the tech. You do a great job. 🤘🤘🔥🔥
Many thanks!
Thank you for the review! Just wondering that for an all-mountain free ride
esort ripper kinda style of riding with some carving, would you prefer the cartel x or Ride C10(cuz this binding is on sale at my local store)?
Thanks. We like the Cartel X Re:Flex better because there is a more aupportive ankle strap
Just picked up the Cartel X, wondering if it's the best fit for a freestyle leaning all-mountain board/riding, or if I'd be better off with something softer?
I wouldn't go EST and not sure if Re:Flex is right for you either. Need to know the board and more about you. YT is a bad place for advice. Hit me up here if you want to get proper help. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
Do Cartel X's seem like a good match for 2022 Jones Hovercraft or should I look at Union Force/Atlas? I heard adjustability is not amazing, will I be able to center the boot properly? I have size 11, looking at L size bindings.
Burton Cartel X bindings are pretty solid bindings. Love the ankle support shock absorption and the smooth turning experience and ride. You do get more response with Force/Atlas vs. Cartels X's. Burton's boot to binding adjustability is not great and stance width adjustability is non existent with factory discs. You can get a few millimeters each way if you can find the older discs that go sideways but it's still far from ideal. So if adjustability is important best to go with Union, Rome or Nitro. Or hit me up here for more detailed advice. thegoodride.com/snowboard-reviews/korua-dart-2019-2024-snowboard-review/
Great video! What do you think of the Kendo step on?
nm you mentioned it at around 11:00
I like it and it is more my kind of step on boot. Was going to review it. but its discontinued. Only thing I dont like is the front folds a bit where the ankle strap would go.
Hello 👋 I have a question for binding. Would be very appreciate to having answers🫡 I’m carving lover but not much as lay down on the snow. So considering between genesis and cartel x. Which is better for riding?? According to burton website cartel x is stiffer than genesis. So generally stiffer things good for riding. Cartel x is right choice for me? Thank you😀😀
So yeah the Cartel X will probably be the better binding if you want something a little stiffer/more responsive. However, based on the info given I'm not sure if either are right for you. Hit me up here if you want to do this properly and find the best binding for you. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
If I’m a size 11 Solomon launch boot, do you think I’d be a better fit in a size large Burton Cartel X? I ride a YES Greats 159 also, thanks!
Yes that is the Large Cartel X Re:Flex (not EST) is the right call. Just make sure you can center the Cartel X Re:Flex on the greats with your stance width. It has no stance width and its best to be centered on the YES Greats.
@@thegoodridesnow sounds great. I’ll do that, ordered up a set. Thank you!
On the ankle strap which setting is better the top setting or the bottom
It's personal preference. Top is good for a little more support/response and bottom for a little better freedom of movement.
Beastie my cartels have two settings for the ankle straps can I talk about the difference
I think I hit you in another review. The higher is for a little more support/response. Lower is for a little easier freedom of movement.
Burton cartel vs Rome vice. Need new binding that'll be on my board for the next 5 years doing all mountain riding.
It depends on what you need. Vice is more damp, has same shock absorption, more adjustability and better response. Cartel is more reliable, has a smoother response and I like the ankle strap better. If you can swing the Cartel X or Katana that would be a better call.
@@thegoodridesnow more reliable, smoother and more comfortable. Exactly what I need. Thanks a bunch. Cartel it is for me.
@@thegoodridesnow what's the reason for jumping to the cartel x or the katana? Are they more reliable? I thought they were just the stiffer versions of the cartel and vice. I don't know if I need stiffer for all mountain riding.
Just better bindings but based on how little info I have from you it's all a guess. If you want real advice hit me up here so I can know a ton more about you to help you properly. YT is a bad place to ask for advice. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
So the benefit of having better board FEEL with EST is not worth going with EST over Reflex? I have this weird fantasy that the better board feel that EST offers will make me a better Rail and box rider and allow me to do bigger jumps because I"m finally ONE WITH THE BOARD.... I'm an intermediate rider and stay in the park most of the time, so I"m wondering if EST will improve my abilities as a rider in general. Note: I'm coming from Union, never rode Burton before.
Not if you want to ride more than 3 brands of boards with those Channel System only bindings. I can't tell you how many people have to buy new bindings to get the board they want/need because they bought EST. So if you are ok with getting another pair or using your old Union's for non Channel System boards then give it a go. Yes EST is a little better than Re:Flex but to me it just isn't worth it to have a binding only compatible with 3 brands and not the hundreds of other brands out there.
Excellent! "I Taint-You" (I Thank you) :) :)@@thegoodridesnow
Ha!
Hi all, I’m almost new to this community and have been riding for 2 years, and I don’t think that I understand fully what does it means that this bindings are not great with “Stance Width Adjustability” could someone please explain/help me here? Does it means that I can’t adjust width of my stance or it’s just limited to certain positions? Thanks 🙏
Planning to go with Jones Aviator 2.0 163W and Cartel x re-flex
The ability to slide the binding tip to tail to get your ideal stance width. AKA how wide or narrow you want your feet apart on the board.
I would need a lot of info from you to determine if that works. Hit me here if you want help.shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
@@thegoodridesnow does it mean that I cannot adjust stance width at all or it’s just limited?
With Burton Re:Flex. Yes you have zero stance width adjustability on non-est boards. With most non-burton full size disc bindings you have a lot of stance width adjustability with EST and non-EST.
