    The Burton Cartels are a pretty easy choice if you are struggling to pick a good pair of bindings. With a medium/stiff flex, they are not a pair that you are going to grow out of, or find that they are holding you back.
    They have nice straps, that are light, don't create pressure points on your boots and are easy to tighten, and get off.

      @@SnowboardRobot Dude, wanted to ask the compability of the Cartel's (plain) with non Burton boards . Want to pair them with RIDEs TWINPIG. Am i gonna be able to make micro adjustments in order to center the binding to the board ?

    • @SnowboardRobot
      @SnowboardRobot  3 года назад +1

      @@andreas49er There are three positions on that you can make with the re:flex disc that it comes with - forward, centered and back. As long as you get the right sized bindings for your boots, I have never had a problem centering my boots on the board. It might be a little more difficult if you are in a crossover size boot that fits in Medium and Large bindings, though I would almost always recommend going for the smallest bindings your boot fits in.

    How much stiffer is this compared to the malavita? I'm consider changing the asym straps to the regular hammock strap so it stiffen up a bit.

    • @SnowboardRobot

      They would both be good, the Cartels are a little stiffer, but if you can get the Malavitas on sale they would be just as good for that type of riding.

    Hi! I own a malavitas and i wanted something more powerful in turns.The problem is footprint of these 2 bindings are the same,in my opinion cartel base should be longer to get more pressure in board edges like stratas for example.What do you think?Are these bindings reactives and easy to turn wide boards with them?thanks!!

    • @SnowboardRobot
      @SnowboardRobot  3 года назад

      I find them to be quite responsive, adding forward lean and the right highback rotation should get pretty much everything you would need out of them. To me the majority of the flex is left to right/nose to tail direction through the disc and the baseplate, rather than the toe to heel, though maybe I don't push them hard enough. Though they have changed this season, the Cartel now has been downgraded and has less features, so the new Cartel X is much more similar to the Cartel I reviewed. If you just wanted super stiff and responsive, also take a look at the Nitro Machine or the Flux XF.

      Thanks!,im analyze my carve and its true that i use the binding base long section (nose tail),i realice you are in right,but at the end i use transverse section too( toe heel). I will see nitro machine.Thankss a lot.

    I ride a us10.5 driver x boots. How should i mount the disk so i don t have toe drag? I have them centered and sometimes i feel like i touch the snow?

    • @SnowboardRobot
      @SnowboardRobot  3 года назад +1

      The easiest way is to mount the bindings centered, then put the boot in the binding and strap it down. Then flip the board over and look at the base of the board, and see if you have roughly the same amount of toe and heel showing - if you don't, move the disc forwards or backwards to even it out. As a guess if you have medium bindings you might need to go back, and if you have large forwards for size 10.5s.
      If you are touching the snow with your heels or toes, you'll definitely know it, the board will jump as you hit the boots, and probably slide out.

  • @michaeljaksa
    @michaeljaksa 2 года назад

    Question, with the reflex base plate? How did you feel stance width adjustability was? Are these bindings only Able to move, in heel, toe directions to center up ? Is there ability to adjust nose to tail on insert packs ? To dial in stance widths ? If not did you find setting your stance wasn’t an issue. ? Thanks

    • @SnowboardRobot
      @SnowboardRobot  2 года назад

      There is only the toe/venter/heel positions for adjustment, so they can be a bit more limited. It isn't a big deal for me as I ride pretty much every board with the back foot on recommended, and front foot on the narrowest insert. When I had other bindings I would put them both on recommended and use the disks to narrow the stance slightly. If I had more adjustment with the disk I would use it, but I can deal with the trade off because I like the bindings.

    Have you ridden any skate tech bindings, and if so, do you think they are worth it?
    Edit: also, I'm currently running the burton custom bindings, would the cartels be worth it, or will there be not a huge difference?

    • @SnowboardRobot
      @SnowboardRobot  Год назад +2

      Yeah I have been on a few Jones/Now skate tech bindings, I never noticed them doing anything different than any other bindings, and the straps are really hit or miss depending on the model.
      The Cartels in this video are the equivalent of the current Cartel X. I don't think you will notice too much of a difference upgrading from Customs to Cartels, but you would if you went to Cartel X - you will get a stiffer and much more responsive feel.

    hi , I have the 2017 EST Cartels Large , my boots are size 12 but it is usual that in the middle of my ride the toe strap comes off , in which position should I put my toe strap ?

    • @SnowboardRobot
      @SnowboardRobot  4 года назад +1

      I would check to see that when the toe cap is tight, it is about halfway down the ladder. If it isn't adjust it on the other side to even it out. You could try taking the bindings off and turn it upside down and move it to the back position, that might help help lock it down a bit more. Can you post a photo of what it looks like when it has your boot in?
