The youtube channel where Zack Argyle and some other authors have uploaded their audiobooks is called "Epic Fantasy Audiobooks". I highly recommend listening to the Threadlight series, the narrator does a fantastic job 😊. I'll definitely have to look into some of the other books that were mentioned, they sounded great.
Thank you so much for having me on Worldhoppers for this discussion! It was such a fun chat and I’m delighted you ended picking up all of these :) I hope they all work for you ✨
This is incredible! Thanks to Kris and Taylor for all they do to promote Indie authors, and incredibly grateful to you Elliot for taking a chance on our books! Hope you enjoy all the reads from your haul, including A DROWNED KINGDOM! BRIGHTWASH & THREADLIGHT in particular are books I've read & loved.
Thank you for showcasing P.L. Stuart's series. He truly is a wonderful person and an exceptional supporter of BookTube so it's great seeing fresh eyes on his books! Cheers!
Lindsay Buroker!!! I love her. She also has free audiobooks posted on her RUclips for some of the first books in her series. All free. I need to reread her Dragonblood series...I got to book 5 and got distracted. plus pick up her new stuff since thats her older writing.
yay promote those underhyped authors. some of my favorite books are underhyped.. and I am always hoping people will review them.. or promote them on social media.
Wait wait. What do you mean IF Atlantis existed!? 😊 a drowned kingdom sounds really good! I’m adding it to my tbr. I couldn’t get into five broken blades, I haven’t officially dnfd it but i was 8 or 9 chapters in and it felt kinda formulaic :/
Excuse me, WHAT meets WHAT? Two of my favorite video game franchises, including my favorite franchise of all time?? The Last Ranger is now definitely on my radar 😂 Btw, Horizon (which I meant when I said my favorite franchise 😅) is basically 100% sci-fi - but it has a strong fantasy vibe to it, especially in its world building and gameplay. ☺️
Really need to read The Last Ranger, A Drowned Kingdom and HC Newell. I unfortunately did not like Threadlight, couldn't connect to the characters/story. Brightwash I had to dnf cause it was the opposite problem and it was just too heavy for me at the time lol. I absolutely love Emperor's Edge though and basically anything written by Lindsay Buroker. I also dnf'd Five Broken Blades, didn't jive with the writing.
Some of these are on my TBR also. SPFBO has really introduced me to so many indie authors. One that I’m really excited to pick up is A Touch of Light by Thiago Abdalla! I’m only nervous because the first two in the series came out in March 2022 and January 2023 and there’s been no word of the progress on the other books since a post on the third one that it’s coming in 2023… 😬
The Emperors Edge series is one of my favorite series. I read it almost 10 years ago but still have my copies. Not the best writing but it will always have a place in my heart.
Threadlight... oh, men. I really tried to enjoy the trilogy, but it was not for me. The magic system is similar to push and pull allomancy, but with his own flavor. It was interesting to see in combat. But, the rest of the books...The characters are so plain and unremarkable. The plot was kind of generic and the ending was just horrible. A lot of settled points didn't pay off, and it was so frustrating to read a series with potential failing that hard. The execution was amateur at best, and the worlbuilding was as generic as you can expect. Like an uninspired Stormlight Archive. Same plot with the old Gods and everything! I can't recommend it.
I'm sorry it didn't end up working out for you! Hopefully I'll feel differently, but regardless, it's still a bummer it wasn't for you (totally reasonable though; not everything can be for everybody!)
I think gaslamp is fantasy and steampunk is scifi when in a more historical setting? I'm pretty sure I've mostly read Victorian steampunk, but it's a little interchangeable in my mind and more about the vibe. I am very intrigued by The Emperor's Edge, though!
I actually met P.L. Stuart at a book signing and he lives relatively not far from me. He’s the nicest guy and we had a great conversation at the signing. I’ve even dm’d him on instagram to ask him some writing questions and he was more than happy to chat with me. This is first time I’ve seen his book be highlighted on booktube :)
Ah, well those other booktubers I mentioned might have some other recs you'll appreciate! All the credit goes to them :) And that's so nice to hear about the author. I'm excited to try his series :D
Yay for under hyped books!! Esp indie!! Always there for that content ❤️ tho idk if 5BB counts as under hyped anymore I see it everywhere. But Emperors Edge sounds right up my alley so thanks again for the neeeeverending TBR

Five Broken Blades was my favorite book of the last 2 months!! I really enjoyed the characters and the way the author crafted the story
Tomb raider meets Horizon Zero Dawn?? I am intrigued 👀 lol that plus Threadlight
Right? I can’t wait! :D
Thanks! I am currently reading Five Broken Blades and am enjoying it.
Threadlight is in my TBR too! I got the kickstarter edition because it was just too beautiful to turn down and I have only heard amazing things 😬😆
Ohh, how fun! That edition is gorgeous. I hope we both end up really enjoying the story 😄😄😄
This is incredible! Thanks to

Yassss 🎉🎉🎉 love the self pub choices Elle!
Here is hoping you enjoy your time with them. Very keen to hear your thoughts on Brightwash 🤣
If I start getting upset reading that, I'm blaming you! :P
Thank you for showcasing P.L. Stuart's series. He truly is a wonderful person and an exceptional supporter of BookTube so it's great seeing fresh eyes on his books! Cheers!
Great Haul!
Totally picking up The Last Ranger because I love Tomb Raider and Horizon Zero Dawn. Thanks for the recommendations!
I'm so glad H C Newell is getting a lot of love. She's a friend of mine and her books are wonderful!
I think you might like the Iron Crown by LL MacRae. A great found family with Shinto inspired dragons.
Lindsay Buroker!!! I love her. She also has free audiobooks posted on her RUclips for some of the first books in her series. All free. I need to reread her Dragonblood series...I got to book 5 and got distracted. plus pick up her new stuff since thats her older writing.
Good to know! Thanks for mentioning that :D
I love the Emperor’s Edge!
Heyy you should check out Trudi Canavan's Millennium's rule saga, you may enjoy it
I loved Curse of the Fallen! It really gave me Witcher vibes. Its like if Ciri was the main focus of Witcher 3.
Welllllll that made me even more excited 👀
yay promote those underhyped authors. some of my favorite books are underhyped.. and I am always hoping people will review them.. or promote them on social media.
The Last Ranger/First Ancestor were really interesting, an indie series I've really enjoyed!
The first 3 books in The Emperor’s Edge series are free in a box set on kindle. Just grabbed them! Thanks for the rec.
I enjoyed Emperor’s Edge
loooove under hyped book content!!
Ah, thank you! I'll try to keep it coming :D
I absolutely LOVED the emperors edge
Ritualist by Dakota Krout in a few other of his books are really fun fantasy.
Wait wait. What do you mean IF Atlantis existed!? 😊 a drowned kingdom sounds really good! I’m adding it to my tbr. I couldn’t get into five broken blades, I haven’t officially dnfd it but i was 8 or 9 chapters in and it felt kinda formulaic :/

I'm currently reading and loving "The Winged Histories" by Sofia Samatar --a beautiful yet underhyped book
I wish you could have seen my reaction to when you said, “Skyrim meets Witcher”. I have been looking for that kinda book for years.
Thank you for the links and the review!
Unfortunately, most of them are underhyped because, well... because they are not good.

The Last Ranger sounds intriguing. ❤📚❤️
I thought so as well so I just looked it up. It's on Kindle Unlimited (if you have that)
Right? I hope we both end up liking it (if you pick it up of course :D)
@@ebnovels 😄👍👍
All of these books sounds so good. I have them written down on my list.
Take Care & Happy Reading
❤️🤗🔰❤️
The Emperors Edge series is one of my favorite series. I read it almost 10 years ago but still have my copies. Not the best writing but it will always have a place in my heart.
This is my first time on your channel and I'm immediately subscribing! I need more indie books so badly and I love your taste and humor ❤
I hope you like Five broken blades, I am finding it a struggle to finish 😢
Any update or news about Peace and Turmoil sequel?
I’m in the middle of five broken blades right now!

I plan to try reading more books that fall into those subgenres; then hopefully I'll know a little better 🙃

All of these sound amazing!! ❤
I’ve read three of these and have two on my tbr!
Omg Skyrim and The Witcher? Two of my favorite things lol that's all I needed to know😂
I'm glad I'm not alone in only needing to hear such a brief amount 😆
The legacy of the brightwash sounds amazing!
I agree! :D
LEGACY OF THE BRIGHTWASH YES
Yay for under hyped books!! Esp indie!! Always there for that content ❤️ tho idk if 5BB counts as under hyped anymore I see it everywhere. But Emperors Edge sounds right up my alley so thanks again for the neeeeverending TBR
I see it quite a bit now too. I see it everywhere since recording this 😆
