  • After running a string of 9.2-second passes, Mark Drew was again piloting his wife's Holden HR street car at Heathcote. Recent changes include a larger 4in exhaust, Dominator stall converter and a custom inlet manifold which saw the turbocharged LS V8 make a touch over 800hp to the ground at MPW through street radial tyres. The old Holden still retains the factory style column transmission shifter and stock style rear leaf sprung suspension.

    Utterly fantastic. The stock steering wheel and column shifter just reinforces this car's sleeper status. I shudder to think if it still has the original HR front end, steering box and brakes in it LOL. Thanks for posting this.

    What an awesome ride! However how does one run repeat sub 10 second passes without harnesses, a cage, a parachute etc without being pulled up by ANDRA officials? Has some of the rules changed since I last raced?
    I take nothing away from the car though, once again, awesome ride!!

    • @fullboost
      @fullboost  8 лет назад +1

      +Firebug454 Heathcote does not run under ANDRA rules. The car now has a cage in it however.

    • @ChrisM-kf4rp
      @ChrisM-kf4rp 7 лет назад +2

      I wondered how he could run without a cage or harness . Great car but Heathcote should change their rules , running 160 mph without safety gear is a disaster waiting to happen .

  • @myjizzureye
    @myjizzureye 8 лет назад

    I don't see a cage, or a chute for that matter. I thought both where mandatory for cars that run sub 10 to run on most tracks?

    Scrap the steering wheel - get some handle bars. 1:45

  • @greglasiter
    @greglasiter 8 лет назад

    Very Cool, but here in the US it is illegal to race a car like that without a 10 point certified chassis good to 8.50 any faster it needs even more cage & any other rules NHRA that apply.

    • @ldnwholesale8552
      @ldnwholesale8552 6 лет назад

      But you do notice that unlike most US cars it actually handles,, and as well it has brakes not gokart brakes and a parachute, both which are bloody dangerous.
      A decent seat may be the go however. And a harness. Drag race rollcages though are a joke, as often are harness mounts. His three point is better than some of those. It seems so many have not learnt by Dale Earnhardt killing himself, it was the belt mounts that killed him, not the crash.

  • @rfhracing
