You wash your stone gods and worship them. You offer saffron, sandalwood and flowers. Falling at their feet, you try so hard to appease them. Begging, begging from other people, you get things to wear and eat. For your blind deeds, you will be blindly punished". (Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Ang, 1240) Notice in the above quote the guru says that idol worshippers will be punished blindly for their blind deeds once they appear in front of God for judgement in the next life (after death)???? So how can the sikh in this video preach his own philosophy and say that it is ok to be an idol worshipper and still make it to God?????? I think both of them made good points, although the Muslim guy as usual was confrontational and disrespectful, he did have a point. The Sikh guy is saying there are various ways to the truth and the "highest" truth is good action. Beliefs matter but not nearly as much as good action. Stay in your religions and be a good person , do good deeds. This is a very deep , inclusive and beautiful message which no one should ignore or belittle. The Muslim guy was trying to get a clarification as to "what is the point to be sikh if all you need to do is be a good person?" . And he has a point, which the Sikh guy clarified but didn't expand on "beliefs are secondary and not as important". That's what the Sikh should have emphasized because the Muslim fella didn't seem to get it. He is far too obsessed with "belief" and having the correct ideological label which is somewhat childish. Although the answer of the Sikh guy "ultimate truth is love, compassion..etc" was a bit evasive from a rational point view, it is the correct "attitude" in the sense that there is no point in saying "sikhism is the ultimate truth" and then getting sucked into these sophomoric pissing contests of which religion is better. Obviously a Sikh guy isn't going to be Sikh if he didn't believe in Sikhism being the best path, the question was pointless. What the Sikh guy was trying to do is to "indirectly" calling ppl to follow the path of the gurus while still keeping their respective faiths. This is a far more inclusive and effective method for solving things, rather than the "me right, you wrong, repent or hell" broken record. If the Sikh says "yeah our religion is the best, bla bla bla" it becomes more about ego and dick measuring contests. But at the same time if he didn't, then it begs the point "whats so special about Sikhism then?" . Basics of Sikhi had a far better and more consistent approach that clarifies this issue. Sikhi IS supposed to be spread but in a very nuanced non-confrontational way, it also doesn't believe in hell or bad karma for non-Sikhs, but rather thinks they can be saved if good, but Sikhi is the best guarantee for salvation. Anyway you cut it, this is a far superior and religion to the divisive nonsense of the Abrahamic faith. I.e "Jesus is the only way to salvation", "Islam is the only truth or hell", "jews are the chosen ppl, fuck the goyim" . The contradiction of course being, is they should spread Sikhi more.

I'm afraid this Sikh brother is trying to say his religion is better than Islam. I know he didn't directly say that, but it's what he insinuated when he was talking about 'giving'. The Sikhs give food to 'serve' humanity and to get rid of poverty. There are a lot of Muslim 'feeding the homeless' organisations. Muslims HAVE to give 2.5% of all earning in 'zakat' which is essentially charity. Imagine if everyone in the world thought like this, there would be no such thing as poverty.

So it's all external rituals. There's no internal feeling of bliss when praying (for people whom don't understand Arabic) If you see where i'm coming from? Like, for me, when I was younger. "In your home is the Lord God, along with all your other gods (idol gods). You wash your stone gods and worship them. You offer saffron, sandalwood and flowers. Falling at their feet, you try so hard to appease them. Begging, begging from other people, you get things to wear and eat. For your blind deeds, you will be blindly punished". (Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Ang, 1240)
Notice in the above quote the guru says that idol worshippers will be punished blindly for their blind deeds once they appear in front of God for judgement in the next life (after death)???? So how can the sikh in this video preach his own philosophy and say that it is ok to be an idol worshipper and still make it to God?????? I think both of them made good points, although the Muslim guy as usual was confrontational and disrespectful, he did have a point.
The Sikh guy is saying there are various ways to the truth and the "highest" truth is good action. Beliefs matter but not nearly as much as good action. Stay in your religions and be a good person , do good deeds. This is a very deep , inclusive and beautiful message which no one should ignore or belittle.
The Muslim guy was trying to get a clarification as to "what is the point to be sikh if all you need to do is be a good person?" . And he has a point, which the Sikh guy clarified but didn't expand on "beliefs are secondary and not as important". That's what the Sikh should have emphasized because the Muslim fella didn't seem to get it. He is far too obsessed with "belief" and having the correct ideological label which is somewhat childish.
Although the answer of the Sikh guy "ultimate truth is love, compassion..etc" was a bit evasive from a rational point view, it is the correct "attitude" in the sense that there is no point in saying "sikhism is the ultimate truth" and then getting sucked into these sophomoric pissing contests of which religion is better. Obviously a Sikh guy isn't going to be Sikh if he didn't believe in Sikhism being the best path, the question was pointless. What the Sikh guy was trying to do is to "indirectly" calling ppl to follow the path of the gurus while still keeping their respective faiths. This is a far more inclusive and effective method for solving things, rather than the "me right, you wrong, repent or hell" broken record.
If the Sikh says "yeah our religion is the best, bla bla bla" it becomes more about ego and dick measuring contests. But at the same time if he didn't, then it begs the point "whats so special about Sikhism then?" .
Basics of Sikhi had a far better and more consistent approach that clarifies this issue. Sikhi IS supposed to be spread but in a very nuanced non-confrontational way, it also doesn't believe in hell or bad karma for non-Sikhs, but rather thinks they can be saved if good, but Sikhi is the best guarantee for salvation.
Anyway you cut it, this is a far superior and religion to the divisive nonsense of the Abrahamic faith. I.e "Jesus is the only way to salvation", "Islam is the only truth or hell", "jews are the chosen ppl, fuck the goyim" . The contradiction of course being, is they should spread Sikhi more.
