I’m non load bearing on one foot and desperate to try this. However, even the one you mentioned doesn’t offer enough adjustable leg difference for the rise in steps. I’ve looked until my eyes are crossed 😁. Have you found a better one offering more inches to adjust?
Good morning from Athens Greece.Gongradtlation for your effort to find new ways of doing things. Have you tried to navigate in a narrower or curved staircase?
Hello! Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately narrow and curved stair-cases are often unique and therefore specific interventions are custom to the environment. When climbing stairs overall, if one leg is stronger, it's recommended to start with that leg when going up. When going downstairs however, start with the weaker leg. This helps prevent knee buckling. Sorry I do not have specific suggestions for your situation.
Hi Kris. We usually use a standard one on Amazon linked below... I'm this video, for this step height, the legs are adjusted so that the inside ones are on the very shortest height and the outside ones on the very longest hight. As a disclaimer, this technique isn't safe for everyone, however if appropriate for the right person, can be effective:) Medline Bath Chair, Bench, Seat, Stool for Disabled, Seniors & Elderly Bathroom Transfer Inside Shower/Tub/Bathtub - 400 Lbs. Yes the demo video is an example of how to manage stairs when one leg is injured. Sometimes after surgeries individuals are restricted in the amount of weight they can bear in that leg. This technique can be safer than hopping or climbing for some ❤️
In general, the shower chair method requires a railing. There are a few instances in which individuals have modified walkers (shortening the one side of the legs and lengthening the other side of the legs) to create a standing frame... However I have only seen this method when managing one step, not multiple stairs
Yes unfortunately this technique isn't meant for so many stairs. 4 flights is quite a bit and yes, those sit to stand transfers would wear anyone out! Thanks for your feedback 🙂
@@LittleStepsBigGains I have heart condition..do u have any other techniques that could help me up them? Also, do u have any exercise or yoga videos suitable for heart conditions?
I usually like your videos but not this one. Too unsafe. Most patients and caregivers are elderly and that technique may be too overwhelming for both. Maybe ambulate with crutch/ cane or quad cane.( even a hemi walker could be used) with opposite rail. Descending with same technique , with some people going backwards if unsure due to safety concerns , scooting on buttocks if able. Convert first floor to meet needs if it’s a temporary situation and if all of the above doesn’t work.( when I had a thr revision the dining room was fitted with hospital bed and commode.) Just my thoughts otherwise I enjoy your videos.
Thanks for your feedback Doug. I learned this method years ago from a PT and was also unsure of it. Since then, we have found it to be very helpful- however - only for certain people in certain situations. You're correct that it's just not safe for everyone.... which is why I appreciate your words of caution. Thanks for sharing your thoughts to me and ideas for others :)
Mind blown!
Great work, I wish many meaningful occupations upon you 🎉
Thank you! Yes this method isn't for everyone, but I had been helpful for those who've needed this set up. Thanks for the comments and blessing🙏
Oh wow thank you ! I have to see the surgeon and was worried about how l was going to leave my basement apartment. Xo

You're welcome! Please be careful as I hope this technique helps keep you safe

What brand shower chair? I've never found one that the legs adjust enough on to work.
