INGREDIENTS:
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted: amzn.to/2MTRbcw
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg yolk, white reserved for another use
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour:
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon fine salt
6 peanut butter chocolate hearts (like Reese's)

I did not have a great day today. I came home tired.
I saw your video and decided to give it a shot. I hardly ever baked anything in my life. I did what I could. The mixture was not moist. They baked for longer time (almost double) and they were golden brown and did not come out flat. I gradually enjoyed the process though. The buttery vanilla smell filled my home and they tasted delicious. You turned my bad weekend to a good one. Thank you💁♀️

Edit: just made them/I let them cool. They taste amazing! I cooked them for 15 minutes instead to make them crispier. The edges are really crispy and the middle is soft. They are perfect!

I just made these sugar cookies, and I am so pleased. Thank you so much. I am home sick, and I was craving something sweet, so I Search for Small batch of sugar cookies and this is what came up. I don't know why anyone would add extra sugar. It was perfect as a matter of fact. I only ate one because it killed my craving for sugar. I cooked the egg white with salt n pepper and put it on a piece of toast and ate it while I waited for my cookies. Many blessings to you and your family. Much Love In Christ...D ❤️

This is my go to recipe! Haha I've made it so many times. This time I ran out of eggs, so I subbed the yolk for 1/4 cup applesauce. It became very moist, so I added flour by eye and they are baking as we speak. 2nd night in a row 😅 Thank you so much. Oh and my husband likes these and he isn't a sweets person.
So it didn't turn out the same obviously. Taste and texture were altered.
I should've added some baking powder to make them flatten out. These cookies were puffier. But still delicious and I could taste the applesauce.
I will wait until I get my egg yolks 😅

Hello. If i want to make chocolate sugar cookies. Would adding 1/4 cup cocoa make these too dry? Would i need to reduce the flour or sugar ratio to compensate for the cocoa? Thanks for the attention.

Can you turn them into snicker doodles by rolling the dough in cinnamon sugar?

These came out great - fast and easy too! That little bit of salt and buttery taste offset the sugar perfectly.
I used a 1 Tablespoon dough scoop/disher and got 10 cookies. Rather than roll the balls in sugar, I pressed them flat with a juice glass and topped them with sprinkles as an after-school treat. I ate 3 😁

Can you make these with brown sugar instead of granulated sugar?
I haven't tried it with this recipe, but it should work. They should be a little chewier because of the molasses in brown sugar and a little softer. Follow up and let me know how they turn out for you.

Hi Laiba! I would try lemon zest first to see if that gives you the flavor you are looking for. If not and you try lemon juice, you will probably need to add a little more flour to counter the additional liquid from the lemon juice. Let me know how it turns out.
@@ChristinaLane I gave it a try by adding only lemon zest of around 1 medium sized lemon and it turned out great! It gave a very fresh and light lemon flavour but I definitely think that if you're looking for a more "lemony" flavour, add that juice in :)

These cookies came out terrible. I'm not sure if it was a mistake on my part put they were dry and crumbly. They also didn't spread out in the oven, so maybe I didn't add enough baking powder. With every I felt like I was on the verge of choking, and needed a gulp full of milk with every bite. Please let me know if I made them wrong. Thank you.

Hi, I made cookies with this recipe before and I loved it. I was wondering if I doubled the ingredients would I use 2 egg yolks or 1 whole egg?
Good question. Alone, egg whites and yolks have different properties. I would just use 2 yolks, and save the whites, although it may be a little tacky.

No they aren't the same baking powder helps rising cakes and cookies and baking soda idky exactly but it doesn't make it rise so it won't work

I did exactly what you did, but my dough wasn’t as half as moist as yours. I mixed it more, but it made it worst! I tried it over again then it still did the same thing. When I managed to get 6 balls of dough and left them in the oven to bake, they didn’t flatten! I had to lie to my dad about them being sugar cookie biscuits...

I tried it again and it worked! I think I put a little too much flour in the last batch and that’s what probably caused it to not flatten
@@sleepyadventurer3756 Awesome! I'm so glad you tried it again! A trick to measuring flour or dry ingredients is to over fill your measuring cup and then use the back (straight) edge of a butter knife to scrape the flour straight across. This will give you a more accurate measurement. Same for sugar, and anything you measure with measuring cups.
ok so I really wasn’t keeping count on how many tbsp of flour I put (bc I couldn’t find the 1/2 cup lol) and so then, when I mixed everything, i knew I put too much so then I added a lot more butter and then I cooked them and... those did NOT turn out cookies....
Yeah, recipes can be like that: if you don’t follow the recipe you probably won’t get the item the recipe it for. You’ll get something different and it could be good or bad. It’s better to follow the recipe the first time, and then experiment.
As for losing count...either dump it all back in the canister and start from scratch or throw it out if it’s mixed with other ingredients.
Tried this recipe. Didn’t come out right. Mine never did spread I opened my oven after 10 minutes and they were still balls . Rewatched the video. Did everything exactly like she said um I’d suggest baking them for 5 minutes and then taking them out use a fork to do a criss cross pattern press down to get them down to a cookie shape. Oh and the time was in between 16-20 minutes
Truly I am not the greatest baker...like at all so I waited till my family was gone to ty this. It was all going smoothly and was the easiest recipient I’d ever followed till I put it in the oven for about 7 minutes and realized I forgot the baking soda I panicked but took them out and lightly sprinkled 1/4 tsp bs on them and cooked them for about 7 more minutes they tasted GReAT will def make again
