He is not kidding. These are the best cookies ever both with and without the cocoa powder. Nothing compares and I have been eating cookies for over 50 years as well. This cookie is top notch.

Chef JP, I saw this video and had to make this cookie. AAAAMAAAAAZING! These may be the easiest to make and best tasting chocolate cookies I have ever had. I worked in bakeries full and part time until I was 40 and had an opportunity to learn some techniques with a French Pastry Chef years ago. I have never made or tasted anything close to these cookies. The simplicity of the recipe was the best part. A child could indeed do it! My wife said she is glad they are so rich because she would be tempted to eat the entire batch! Well done Chef!
Just finished these. Amazing! I only got 18 out of the recipe, though. I jammed the 2” scoop with batter. Anyway, I knew these would be terrific not only because it’s your recipe, Chef, but because I could smell the baking soda in the batter. There’s something about baking soda and chocolate. I made it my signature cookie by pressing a whisk in the cookie making it look like the spokes of a wheel and putting a chocolate covered raisin on top. Fantastic. Thank you for the recipe. Top honors.

Made these today...and they are awesome. There is a gem in this vid that is easy to miss... the chef mentions that the dough can be frozen. Cover a baking sheet with foil or parchment. Make scoops of dough. Freeze. When the dough is frozen, put in a zip bag. Now you can bake one, two, five, or whatever number of cookies you want. Just reduce the baking temp by about 20 degrees and add about five to ten minutes of baking time. Super yum. Thanks chef!

Wow Chef! I made your cookies today. I only had light brown sugar so I used 1.1/4 C and added 2 T. dark molasses with wet ingredients. I used zero sugar dark chocolate chips, macadamia chopped, and tossed in 1 tsp. powdered espresso when sifting dry. Sorry for altering your recipe but I have certain dietary restrictions. I followed your directions for baking, cooling, resting. THEY ARE DELICIOUS! So happy I discovered your channel on YT. I discounted all cooking channels long ago because they were too rigid, too Hollywood, too self-promoting, or even too vague. You are legit! What a life you have lived and continue doing so! I have 4 grandchildren, 3 boys and a girl. Ages 16, 12, 10, & 5. Everytime they stop by they want Grand-Marie's cookies and now they will be craving Chef Jean-Pierre's!

Just finished making these cookies and they are certainly delicious and probably the best cookies I have ever made. Since I don't bake very much, I followed the recipe to the letter but I noticed my dough seemed drier than in the video. I was not sure how to adjust or if I should, so I continued as is and the cookies came out a bit thicker and fluffier which was fine with me. Still great and the texture is firm and a bit crispy on the bottom and top and soft on the inside. Thank you chef JP for helping me overcome my fear of baking!

I just made this cookie recipe. Chef is right, these really ARE the best chocolate "chip" cookie I have ever eaten. I was a little worried that all that molasses would add an unusual taste, but it disappears into the gooey deliciousness and is not detectable on it's own. Instead, they will become a constant confectionery in my home. I LOVE this cookie recipe. I printed out the page and placed it in my favorite recipes folder. Thank you Chef Jean Pierre! Yum Yum! 😁

My cousin is a professional chef but would never give me some of his cooking secrets or special ingredients. Chef Jean Pierre is amazing. I enjoy his recipes and have tried a few with my twist. This Ultimate Cookie recipe looks tasty. I would add some dark black brew coffee to give it that rich dark chocolate taste. Thanks Chef. I will definitely try this one.

Just finished making these cookies and they are certainly delicious and probably the best cookies I have ever made. Since I don't bake very much, I followed the recipe to the letter but I noticed my dough seemed drier than in the video. I was not sure how to adjust or if I should, so I continued as is and the cookies came out a bit thicker and fluffier which was fine with me. Still great and the texture is firm and a bit crispy on the bottom and top and soft on the inside. Thank you chef JP for helping me overcome my fear of baking!

I just made this cookie recipe. Chef is right, these really ARE the best chocolate "chip" cookie I have ever eaten. I was a little worried that all that molasses would add an unusual taste, but it disappears into the gooey deliciousness and is not detectable on it's own. Instead, they will become a constant confectionery in my home. I LOVE this cookie recipe. I printed out the page and placed it in my favorite recipes folder.
