I have both. To be fair I have had to upgrade the bracelet on the Duro which has added around £20 to the total cost. Now the main difference for me is that I can actually read the date on the Addiesdieve. So for me the Addiesdive is cheaper and more functional. Both are within 1s per week for me. So both excellent value but the Addiesdive is my beach beater.
Hey guys, what do you think, was the winner the right one? Also only 70 away from the next milestone, so make sure you sub if you haven't so we can unlock the next giveaway. Thanks guys and have a good one.
The Duro's availability is affected by the fact the MDV-106 is being phased out by the MDV-107. It's exactly the same watch, but without the marlin image due to expired copyright. So the marlin version will become harder and harder to get; opt for the non-marlin version instead or viceversa, depending on your specific region's stock.
If Casio made Duro at 40mm with bracelet it will be one of the best watches for the price, 44mm is huge for daily wear even if its light cuz its quartz. Thanks for comparison man.
They do. It’s the MTD-1053D. It has 200m water resistance and a dial similar to the Orient Mako, I own all three and believe they all have the same Miyota 2115 quartz movement.
I have a addiesdive. I love it. Works great. Fantastic lume. The bracelet is ok. I plan on hydro modding. Should work good with the wr rating. Thanks for the comparison.

I own 2 Casio Duros. The one shown in this video (my very 1st dive watch) and a pepsi dial one that I keep on a stainless steel bracelet. Love the Duro! That being said, while I'm not a big microbrand guy, I have had my eye on Addiesdive for a while. They have a great lineup of watches and pretty solid reviews. I may pull the trigger on buying one soon.
Seems like you're a duro fan. I'm hoping they make a 40mm version at some point then that would be perfect. As for the addies, it's a solid watch for not a lot. Thanks for watching
@@syahrulk9294He doesn't need to tell you which to buy. That's not what that is. He's pointing out the differences. You decide which one to buy. This is called doing your own research. Sorry but as a woman sometimes 'individuals' need to much hand holding.
I have a dozen watches and although the Duro is my least expensive watch it is the one I wear every day for work. As a 3D designer for industrial equipment, I spend a quarter of my time in the shop crawling around on excavators and the rest in the office on the computer. The Duro is a perfect watch for this atmosphere. I will admit though that the first thing I did before wearing it was to put on a nice Melenas bracelet. Looks good in the office and holds up out in an industrial shop. BTW, here in the States Walmart carries them for $55 all day every day.
That's awesome to hear its so durable and that's really cool, I'm jealous., that's like £42 which is way cheaper than what we have to pay, even if you can get one at all. Thanks for sharing your experience with it.
Very nice comparison. I'd lke to add a few things you may have missed. The addiesdive also has ar coating whch the duro is missing. Also the duro does indeed use the myota 2115 as well
In Australia the best price you can get online for the Duro is around $110-$120 (Amazon US don't ship it to us), while the Addies will only set you back around $55 (cheaper if you can get discount codes). Even with its medicore lume the Casio I feel is the slightly better watch but with that price variance the Addies is the one I'd recommend.
My main complaint against the Euro is the size. It's not heavy, but it's larger than it needs to be, as can be seen by the amount of blank space on the dial. No doubt many have requested shrinking it down to 40 mm but it still has not happened after over 10 years following its debut.
We've spontaneously decided to go on a week long dive trip to Egypt, so I wanted a cheap watch, mainly for snorkelling, swimming and surfing in the sea, as my Submariner is in for service. I have a separate, designated digital dive watch for scuba and free diving. So I ordered the Addiesdive on a whim from Ali to tie me over. Paid 39 Euros for it. It arrived 2 weeks ago, and I can only say positive things about it, especially the lume and the build. The water resistance claim of 200m makes me somewhat nervous, as I've heard of Addiesdive bezels falling off after 5 minutes in seawater and watches flooding, so as a sort of insurance I've ordered the Duro too. I have friends who own the Duro and they love it and it has never let them down, even on proper dives. If the Addies holds up, I’ll just sell the Duro on. If not, I'll put it down as an experiment and I'll have a back-up watch with the Duro. I'll let you know how I get on.
Sounds great and the addies is a solid bit of kit but never took it in the sea sadly. Would be interested in seeing if it holds up but the duro will. Enjoy the vacation
@@WesWatchRoom Hi, as it so happens, I got back from Egypt yesterday. So, I took the Addiesdive down to about 10 meters free diving, then swimming and snorkelling every day in the sea. Even wore it in a 90 C sauna almost every day. The watch held up very well. No problems whatsoever. Still looks like new. In fact, a few people asked me about it, and now they want one themselves. Tested the Duro too. No problems there either. I'll keep them both. Got black Nato straps on both, as I don't really like the rubber one on the Duro. Oh man, when you needed to check the date- and you looked for your phone- what an opportunity to check it on your watch 😉… Thanks for the vid, I probably prefer the Casio. I would feel more confident about it.
Yeah, I know mate, but, turns out that the watches had the wrong time and date so, I win 🤣. Agree with you mate, the duro is better if you want to go swimming, but not sure mine would hold up. Thanks 👍
Ooh, that was a close. Totally agree with your opinion mate. A solid link bracelet would take the Duro to the next level. A lot of watch for the price. Awesome job with the comparison mate!.
I’ve a black and a blue Duro……absolutely awesome watch for the money. The supplied strap is pants though…..I put mine on a Barton Elite. Nothing wrong with the bezel on either of them. You’re right about price though…they do fluctuate. Tracked the pricing, and although I bought them at different times, they came in at less than £100 the pair.
Nice, the black and blue is my favourite and agree with you on the strap, it's not great. Barton Elite are brilliant too, so good call there. Price can be crazy. Currently £50 pretty solid but give it a few weeks and it'll be £70. Great work getting them both for sub £100. Thanks for watching

Nice competition, thanks for that! I own the Duro and for me it´s the winner. Primarily because it has not the typical sizes of the other Rolex-clones. 44mm works perfekt with my 8,5 inch wrist
I would like to share a couple of thoughts, letting clear that I'm a casio diehard fanboy: 1) The bezel on my duro don't have that back jump, and lines up perfectly 2) The duro is really heavy and unbalanced if you use it for a long time. The best solution is to get a bracelet and milled clasp on aliexpress, that improves drastically the weight balance, as suggested by Jodi at JOMW 3) As far as I know, casio uses miyota movements in some of their analog watches, but I'm not sure if that is the case in the duro. I'm waiting until the battery dies to find out. I had another casio analog watch (HDA600) with a miyota movement Anyway, I think the addiesdive homage is a very good watch too, but if you compare it to the duro it always looks "cheaper" Thanks for sharing
Appreciate your insights mate and I personally find the duro wears well because the size helps spread the weight some. But that's just me. Thanks and have a good one
I have two Duros and an Addiesdive. The bezels of both Duros are extremely hard to turn. In fact, I can't turn them when the watches are on my wrist. I have to take them off and hold them in my left hand while turning them with my right. Not so with the Addiesdive.
Nice comparison. I have the Addiesdive, which I feel is superior to the Duro. The Duro is too big I feel for an average sized wrist. Also, The lume is far better on the Addiesdive. They both have the same movement and keep very good time. Nowadays, Homage watches for the Rolex Sub are common place, so it's not a real problem owning one. Casio is a great watch with it's eco-drive movements. Their quartz watches are ok, but IMHO don't give as much value and looks as the so many others out there.
Personally it's the duro for me, I absolutely love mine and wouldn't part with it,something about it makes me smile when I look at it....that is something I don't believe I would say about the AD....🏴⌚🏴⌚
With the lume on the addies you will smile. It blows away other watches. Really. I own 6+. All have excellent lume unless it has patina/coffee looking paint. The lume on the cheap one is as good as their top bronze divers. I recommend you to give it a look.
