    1000km - 11h30m , 87 km/h avg speed....means compare to old small Ioniq it is just ~30min faster :D I really have to buy used old Ioniq after I sell my Prius :) Good Job Bjorn.

    • @alexanderkeene6704
      @alexanderkeene6704 5 лет назад +14

      Hmmmm I have a question. If you were thinking about buying a hatchback like Ioniq, why are you looking at an SUV like EQC for comparison? Shouldn't you be looking at other hatchback (or maybe sedans) since they're more comparable and comparing Ioniq to SUVs would skew the result of comparison? Have you already made up your mind that you want an Ioniq and are just comparing apples to oranges to justify that you want an Ioniq or am I missing something?

      @@biziluxgames8924 I know that but that isn't even what I was discussing though. Not even close to my point.
      He is considering buying an Ioniq so I assume he can afford to buy a car. What I don''t get though is - which is why I asked in my first comment - why is he comparing the performance and price of an Ioniq hatchback to an EQC SUV. They're different cars made for different needs of people.

    • @reijerkok6136

      I am happy I bought an Ioniq back in 2017. Still good value with hyper efficiency, high charging rate of up to 67 kW, fairly low purchase price etc.

    Thank you Björn for this vid. Last week i was on the road back from Barcelona to Lake of Constance with my Etron. From Perpignan up to Lyon we have had very strong, constantly headwinds up to 130 km/h. The fully loaded car with 3 Ebikes on a Thule behind, needs about 34,5 kw/ 100 km. Setting of ACC 130 km/h, driven by auto mode. It destroyed my calculation on ABRP completly. But the trip was nice and we are still waiting for more IONITY Chargers in the south of France.
    Thank you so much for your work, and i agree with you, EQC is not a bad car. The power train comes from ZF, here from my Home town, Friedrichshafen and i think they have made a good first project.
    EV ist the future, no doubt.

    Hey Bjorn, you should have set the car in Eco and recuperation in D Auto, for sure while driving on highway. Now you where not taking advantage of the coasting capabilities of the car. The consumption would be much lower if you did. So, redo the test! Last weekend I drove 300 km and I got 21,3 kWh/100 km at where possible around 120 KM/H.

      Please compare apples to apples.
      You are comparing motorway fuel prices and a large SUV with lots of godies on board with a diesel doing 5l/100km.
      It really is a bend comparison.
      Audi Q7 with 3.0Tdi 130km/h on cruise control takes 7.9l/100km (this is no aircon, no music, 1 person, flat road and no headwind at least what I have achieved recently).
      8l/100km motorway speed is a great result for a badly shaped SUV.
      With aircon and music and headwind I would most likely hit 9l/100km.
      Price of fuel was £1.42 so €1.60.
      8×1.6=12.80
      €13/100km.
      Compare it to EQC which is quite uneconomical for an EV and here you have your comparison.
      When charged daily at home there is not a single moped which can touch my own EV when comparing fuel expenses.
      So I prefer my silent SUV rather than a screeming moped.

    • @kardy12
      @kardy12 5 лет назад +2

      batmann2o
      Well. GLC consumption is around 6-7l/100km. Add a bit more for 130km speeds and headwinds 7-8 is not unreasonable.
      The Ionity chargers are a bit steep - but that applies mainly to longer trips. Everyday commuting, when charging at household electric tariffs, is a lot cheaper, whereas for a fossil car the cost per litre is no lower.

    • @patterisepi
      @patterisepi 5 лет назад

      @@batmann2o If you can afford a EQC then some 20e per 1000km roadtrip is no issue, you would probably use way more money on the road anyways so the rapid charging is a bargain.

    We have that issue in the UK with a lot of rapid chargers being at hotels, or petrol stations "off the beaten track". Bit of a pain when you're on a motorway like the M25 around London and have to pull off and take a 20km detour into a town to find a place to juice up. Quite a lot of the chargers on main routes are either broken or heavily used, so sometimes a detour is the only option.

    • @Haveagrated
      @Haveagrated 5 лет назад

      Real pics of the UK chargers right now.
      My favourites are Holiday Inn but I mainly work and charge around my town now.
      However I hope all the recent price increases we had will be followed with their promises of the new ultra fast Web of chargers.
      If it will go into pockets of fat cats than we are all doomed when we get more EVs at least when travelling far.
      Around the town I say EV is the best choice ever and I'm 100% certain I will get another one for my wife as soon as I get my ICE car sold.

    I just wonder if anybody knows if a Nissan LEAF of USA spec can be charged and used in Europe?

    • @harsimranbansal5355

      nevoi comerciale it should be able to since it uses CHAdeMo, if it were to use CCS then it can’t charge as CCS port in Europe is different than the one in USA

      @@harsimranbansal5355 How about household charge? In Europe is using 230 V 50 Hz while in North America 110 V 60 Hz. For old EV with small range household charging is most used one.

      @@harsimranbansal5355 I meant slow charging at home which is most common case for commuters in Europe and elsewhere. One always can buy an adapter but the household current in Europe is 50 Hz 230 V while in North America is 60 Hz 110 V, thus the charging device built in the EV has to have support for this range of current abilities. Moreover in North America the so called relatively fast chargers installed in homes using 3 phase current are designed for 220 V while in Europe it can be as high as 380 V. One can read on the adapter of laptops (designed for worldwide use) support for both types of currents while that support is lacking on single market oriented devices such as TV, blue ray players, home appliances, vacuum cleaners, hair clippers and so on. I highly doubt Nissan spent extra money to build in the worldwide support in their Nissan LEAF.

    I wonder why all the “infotainment”-screens have to be so freakin laggy.. seems to be like that for most cars, Tesla’s seems to be a bit better though?

    This is a classic example how high consumption completly ruins good charging. The charging speed is completely alright, ober 80 kW at over 50% is good. But if it eats 35 kWh/100km, the fast charging is completely irrelevant. With my 'old' 2015 Model S 85D I would give this car a run for it's money. And I can barely charge 60kW at 50% with my 100k km battery.

      And this car is really inefficient at speeds above 100kmh, as a matter of fact its a joke at 130kmh! They say its a large SUV but I only see a huge bonnet !?, not so much big car...(compare to e-tron let alone model x)

      Right?? They looked pathetic.. it looked like he was on a big phone.. lol.. I guess I'm way to used to Teslas at this point.. these screens are just not acceptable to me.. I would never even consider this thing, just based on that alone. It looks horrible! But there's a lot of other reasons I'd never consider it too...
