Actually not true. In the Daizenshuu, the soul punisher is stated to be nothing more than an energy bullet. The English dub of fusion reborn started this misconception of the attack affecting the soul.

It is called Soul Punisher, and is designed to destroy evil souls (Or the evil IN a soul) much like DBZ's afterlife's Hell works. It seems likely that this attack is the power of Hell.

Soul Punisher/Stardust Breaker are synonymous with Gogeta, so his use of it was a reference to his old movie. However, this attack harmed Broly despite the fact the Broly isn't necessarily evil. In other words, it ORIGINALLY was only meant to harm evil people, but for the sake of fan-service, it can hurt ANYONE now.
@@godzilla... even back in fusion reborn it never had the ability to harm only evil beings. The English Dub of fusion reborn began this misconception, it was a dubbing mistake. In the original Japanese dub of the movie, Gogeta never states “your own bad energy will be your undoing”, the power of the attack is simply what eliminated Janemba. This is backed up by the Daizenshuu.

Tbf Gogeta coulda rinsed full power broly with SSJ3 imo. Gogeta ssj was already to be proven to be far above SSJB goku/vegeta so a SSJ3 would’ve been enough for broly. SSJB was just for the Gogeta merchandise lmfao

Broly is considered to be a genius character, kinda like frezia. Frezia trains at a minimum and gets Hella strong! Broly gets stronger as he fights to match his opponent with a side effect of no control.

In Broly case, it is different. With him it’s an “on-going/constant state of” rage boost. Not just a one-time incident.

This exactly. Every other Saiyan we’ve seen go gold used that amount of rage as an initial trigger, but has since not needed it after further training with the form and its higher grades.
Super Saiyan/LSSG Broly is that rage on full blast, be it sadistically so in the Z movie or so animalistic in Super. He’s a berserker that doesn’t so much transform into Super Saiyan form as he explodes into it every time we see him.

I definitely agree with you there. Using pure strategy to overcome an opponent was abandoned pretty much from early DBZ. There was no need for Gogeta to strategize as he outclassed Broly once he went Blue.
That's what I thought too before this video (the key was just having higher forms), Gogeta went SSJ Blue and Broly woudn't catch up to him anytime soon.

Geekdom isn't that smart. Lol. 99% of his videos start with "So, umm..." His videos are of decent quality. But, it's clear he speaks at an elementary school level. This is true for his commentary and conversations. Also, you'll notice his simple vocabulary that doesn't seem to expand. He uses the same words with usually 3 syllables or less over and over.

One of the things that held Gogeta back was that he did not want to kill Broly. The goal was to stop the fight without anyone getting seriously hurt, and at this level finding that balance is a razor's edge
I always looked at it as the vast amount of training and focus Gogeta had vs Broly. That story is what's expressed the most in the fight for me.
If the theory about the Stardust Breaker being able to purifying things from within (not just evil, maybe anything negative)is true. Does that means gogeta used it to clear broly's mind of rage?

According to a guide from TOEI , they mentioned Stardust Breaker from Fusion Reborn was just a massive ki bomb, they didn’t mention any “purifying souls “ , I believe it’s the same with this version.
No. Right after the attack you can see Gogeta is worried, then he smirks. What I and others get from this is, he used to the attack similarly to Janemba. Its a purification to see if Broly is evil or just confused.
No, cause clearly what is known as the Stardust Breaker doesn't function the same way it did in the film it debuted in.
That sux if it was just a "massive Ki Bomb". They really should make the purification theory real though, making what the character can possibly do is amazing and interesting.

(Plugging the kick-ass Geekdom101 podcast here too) As a 35 yo Dragon Ball fan from a little kid watching the constant and crazy dub/ studio changes and the myth-driven nature of the DB fandom starting in the early 90s etc. you dispel the nonsense and confusion dealing in straight tangible facts and an opinion of obvious love for everything Dragon Ball. Much respect man. Didn’t intend to drop an essay on ya, it’s just a small show of gratitude for the quality and quantity of great, research/ source-cited content that you so often and consistently produce for our enjoyment. Dragonball theory: the hulk from marvel gets stronger and is green, broly gets stronger and green, therefore broly could be a saiyan interpretation of the hulk
Broly does not get stronger the angrier he gets. The old broly wasn't angry and new broly like the old get stronger the more he fights. His energy keeps increasing
thats not even a theory, just a fact. they are both generally nice dudes who dont want to fight, but when they transform, they cant really control their power and they get stronger the angrier they get. broly is pretty much a carbon copy of the hulk.

What's also interesting is that from the moment they leave that other dimension, gogeta try's his best not to clash head to head with broly for the rest of the fight. There's a moment when gogeta is coming to punch broly, but broly cocks his fist back to also through a punch. Rather then clash fists with broly and potentially break reality even further, gogeta stops and throws his punch early, which blows broly back to open him up again.

Erick Santos Gogeta Blue seems comparable to UI Goku, and UI Goku’s a bit stronger then Jiren, so while Broly might be incomparable to Jiren, Gogeta Blue, who STOMPS Broly, is probably comparable to Jiren. Besides, Gogeta could use Kaioken, so if there was a difference between Gogeta and Jiren, Kaioken could possibly close that gap. Since their power is not added, but multiplied, Gogeta is probably comparable to Jiren

Bruh did u see the damage of vegeta? They gave that guy a whole fucking big ass swolen flab of skin. Same thing happened to Gotenks but atleast he has some blood to shed and the damage shown to proven he got his ass whooped. Same thing in DB Goku vs Piccolo one of the most brutal fights in the hIstory of the anime is better than what super calls "Battle Damage"

I also noticed when Gogeta started to punch a lot, all of his punches were in imbued with ki. Maybe that is how Gogeta pulled off the Stardust Exploder.

Not really, Gogeta was beating Broly pretty badly throughout the later half of the movie. And I'm pretty sure that final kamehamema would've killed him, or, at the very least incompasitate Broly.
