This may be the most underrated WH40k game out there, it's definitely the best turn based strategy game of the franchise right now and it keeps getting better.
@@GaiasWunderkind I was pleased to see the level of support / new content the game is still receiving. Just slightly disappointed there aren't more factions really
What about Rogue Trader, Gladius, and Mechanicus? I’ve never played any turn-based 40k games, but I used to play a lot of Soulstorm awhile ago. Now, I want to get into turn-based games, but there’s so many. Recently I was really into turn-based games after playing Tacticus, though I quit it not long after because of the amount of microtransactions that literally flooded the screen. Also in your opinion, which of these games has the best gun sound design?
@@mediumsurmoon6283 Well, they are all good games. Gladius is just not my cup of tea. The thing with both Rouge Trader and Mechanicus is that they are too limited for my taste. In Rouge Trader you play a campagne with only a mix of few different characters, which you can also upgrade, what gives it a certain rpg touch as well. Mechanicus is also very limited, since you also just play one faction (Adeptus Mechanicus) against the Necrons, in which you also just play a campagne. Both games also lack multiplayer, yet what makes Battle Sector so great (besides his multiplayer) is the variety, you have like 7 different factions with their own unique tactical play style and they will add even more in the future, also it's pretty much the closest expirience to the original turn table variant. There is also a map-editor, which allows people to create their own maps and put them online, which everyone can just download while in game, that's just another cool thing. All in all, it's just the best when summed up, but i suggest you to watch a few reviews for the games that interest you the most.
Fair review. The game has its shortcomings but somehow I regularly find myself coming back to it, specially to replay the main campaign, which is very fun.
@dte1096 thank you, I'm glad you think so. What do you think of the daemonic incursion and planetary supremacy modes? They're pretty cool but not fleshed out enough for me personally...
@@twiglets2 I agree with you on that. I played daemonic incursion once or twice but I didn't quite like it. Planetary supremacy I found to be more engaging, and is a good way to play against the new factions that the developers have introduced (like orks and Tau) if you are not willing to buy their DLC. But yes, those two modes feel more as a way to spend some time while we wait for the new upcoming campaign(s) that were recently announced, instead of full-fleshed experiences.
Good review and video! c: also I’m pretty sure in the last dev vlog they mentioned making more narrative campaigns in the future which will be really interesting to see
@jacobrigg5095 Thank you! I was glad to hear them confirm more campaigns as I was a bit disappointed the dlc's don't currently include more campaign content.
Great video! Does the Blood Angels army here feature the death company or sanguinary guard? The BA are my favourite chapter though given the recent content announcement, I might wait until after those have been implemented before buying. Just picked up Chaos Gate and been really enjoying that.
I don't understand why the game looks so much smoother and overall better than on my system. May I ask, on which resolution do you play the game? I play on 1920x1080 and especially the field "boxes" are very edgy as there would be no Anti-Aliasing (which of course is turned on). Thanks in advance!
After Finishing Space Marine 2 and playing more Ops mission i crave a more Traditional Warhammer 40k game and after 5000 Hours in all Dawn of War games i looked for a game and this game ist around 5€ on keyseller sites so it is a instant buy for me
@@twiglets2 It is just great. Loved the first one but this is just old school fun. Great Campaign with easy coop. Operations that are extra coop missions that show side plots of the campaign and you have a solid PvP mode.
As a WH40K enthusiast, I bought all the DLCs, and to be honest, I have played all the factions multiple times through skirmish, planetary supremacy, and custom campaigns. While the game has plenty of content, some more engaging than the other, what I would like to see is new mechanics to the current modes and the armies, perhaps to match the rules of the tabletop. Overall, it was a very demure experience and I can't wait to see what's more to come.

@@twiglets2I would recommend it because even though it's a much deeper game (which is not a nad thing), I really think it's pretty easy to understand what's going on and how to play every faction.
