The "kill room" was the room where Shaw experiments on Erik. You can see the room from his perspective in his flashbacks when he first encounters Shaw on the yacht.
I liked the way Hunt for Red October handled the language barrier. Warcraft did something similar with the Orcs. I think it's a good way to deal with the language barrier yet still feeling true to the characters because they're speaking their own language.
I think that room is some sort of medical investigation/cirgury room... When Emma Frost triggers those flashbacks in Erik's head in the boat, we see he remembers being treated like a lab rat by Shaw...I think that's a memory of something that happened in that room. Stil, I understand Eric, is bizarre to have that just next to your office...and the way is shot, it just comes out of nowhere so Young Erik can have his epic tantrum/meltdown and display his powers
53:53 To answer your question, the misquote in DOFP is due to improvisation. The actual scripted line in the First Class Screenplay is what was said by Xavier in DOFP. Also that’s the way they shot it multiple times. Just on the last take Hugh Jackman changed the line by improv, and Vaughn liked that take best, so he used that for the movie despite it not matching the script. So when they came to shoot DOFP later, Bryan Singer used the line in the original script (due to him writing First Class) and Hugh Jackman and James MacAvoy couldn’t remember that they changed it because they shot the original line so many times, but the actual line only once. Hope that makes sense.
1:54:11 I never noticed... Mystique is wearing the yellow outfit and still shape-shifts into a guy in a suit. That's a problem. And I also don't understand why Emma Frost can diamondize her clothes. That's a problem.
Before this movie William Shatner was in 3rd Rock From the Sun with John Lithgow who was in Footloose with Kevin Bacon, so he was easily connected with any one in Star Trek.
I'm somewhat of two minds on this movie. I really, really enjoy it, but I've read the Magneto prequel script, and it was fantastic, and left the perfect opening for a First Class movie at the end. I wish that Magneto movie had been made.
I remember reading the Thor and Deadpool scripts years before release. It made me love the films more. At least Deadpool. Do you know where I can access the First Class script?
Just a little fun fact for you guys: In the original script for First Class, Logan said "F*ck off" in his cameo, but Jackman made a lot of takes until they were happy with "Go f*ck yourself" rather than the original line. When in DOFP Charles misquotes Logan, it's very likely though not confirmed that it's because the script for First Class said "F*ck off" and they either didn't rewatch First Class, didn't remember, or they made it intentionally as a fun easter egg. Cheers, great commentary!
Having a few mutants predate the atomic age doesn't preclude increased background nuclear radiation causing or contributing to a boom in mutant population.
jugulator95 That's really getting away from the point of the channel. Bond movies absolutely do not go under the category of "Geek". I draw the line there, and with other things too, that the fan culture has taken over. It pisses me off.
In DoFP Magneto says JFK was "One of us". This doesn't necessarily mean he's a mutant, he could have just been sympathetic to the cause. Eric, that shot you mentioned of Darwin had me and my buddy laughing in the cinema. Whether or not it was intentional on the part of the editor, it was so "on the nose" to be comical. Also, to your poit about subtitles in movies. I have noticed since moving to China 6 years ago, there a quite a lot of foreign language sections to English language movies. Unfortunately, unlike Hong Kong, mainland China doesn't provide English subs for these parts. I watched John Carter and had no clue what the aliens where saying until he drank that magic juice they gave him. Stuff like Mission Impossible and even Avengers, where there are spells of Russian thrown in can be frustrating.
In 1983 The U.S Embassy is bombed in Beirut, killing 63 people . A 5.2 earthquake hits Central New York and President Ronald Reagan proposes the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI).
Well comic book Magneto does more than just manipulate metal like he does in the films. Comic book Magneto is more geared towards magnetic fields and the applications inherent with magnetism like manipulating the Earth's magnetic field in the Ultimate universe or even manipulating the electromagnetic spectrum. The movies just make it telekinesis but just metal, presumably to streamline his powers. Of course this largely depends on the writer, but comic book Magneto, despite the inherent limitations with his power set, is capable of more amazing applications of his powers that I can buy why people think he's one of the most powerful supervillains.
Mangeto has the stronger story line in this movie and people are just confusing interesting character story with better acting. If McAvoy was any less in acting comparing to Fassbender, this movie would've never have the same appeal that it has right now.
Cap if you love McAvoy I recommend Filth, it's his best performance in my opinion he's amazing in it. He plays a corrupt Scottish police officer slowly losing his mind it's harrowing.
I think x2 is a far darker and more intense film than this. I really don't think any of the x-men films are really concerned with having a kid audience. From the get go they deal with the holocaust and have a nude woman walking around the whole time. I really don't get why the f bomb bothers Cap more than the violence and sexual stuff in these films
I can't give a movie called "First Class" that doesn't have the FIRST CLASS in it a pass. I do give Apocalypse a pass because I love Cyclops and Jean in it.
This is the best series on this channel. Getting almost 2 hours of content a day to decompress with every break I get is amazing. I need this.
"FINALLY... Marvel Mania has come back to RUclips!"
This is my favorite as well. I love the 60s James Bondish feel to it
I've been waiting for a How We Felt About Legion. It's good to know it's in the mindset!
This is easily the best (and arguably the only truly great) X-Men movie.
Until you see Logan. Lol
X2?

Magneto CAN move that comic book Cap, because it's held together by staples! :D

the line's in the movie. Didn't they see it?
To your point about starting here, I started with First Class and I followed the relationship and everything else just fine
Loving this Marvel Mania commentaries, keep it up guys!

B.A.G. Studios I suppose Mystique could be just projecting the suit in the first place. We never see her put it on

I love Stardust !!!!!
This is the best X-men film. DOFP got nothing on this.
ItsMichaelReid I can't agree at all.
5keeper7ful If your not with me...then your my enemy!
ItsMichaelReid only a mutant deals in absolutes.
Agreed for the most part. I still love DOFP but First Class is more up my alley.
Shaw literally calls mutants 'children if the atom'. So Eric's read on the matter was correct.

This movie confirms that Magneto and Professor X are in love.
Rider there was doubt before?
Glenn Morshower is also General Sam Lane on the Supergirl show.
Wait Michael Ironside was in this ?! So...TWO General Sam Lanes are in this movie.
I agree with Eric
this is my favorite x-men movie
They saved the Day of Future Past, so Banshee could be alive.
Rider no he dies before the timeline is altered
Bout time! I thought you were done with the long breaks between episodes!
Shades was the one who counted the blinking
Hell yeah, Eric! From Russia With Love is the best 007 movie
WATCH THE BOND MOVIES!!! XD
You're probably confusing the fall of the Berlin Wall with the collapse of the Soviet Union, which was in 91.
Ren Davis They both happened rather close together so can't blame them
cap you and Eric should do commentaries on all the Bond movies
jugulator95 That's really getting away from the point of the channel. Bond movies absolutely do not go under the category of "Geek". I draw the line there, and with other things too, that the fan culture has taken over. It pisses me off.
I'd sacrifice days of Future past for an O5 movie.
So ... which one of you three runs craft services?

DOFP was way more accurate with the 70's than F-C is with the 60's. I don't think "groovy" was spoken as early as '62.
In 1983 The U.S Embassy is bombed in Beirut, killing 63 people . A 5.2 earthquake hits Central New York and President Ronald Reagan proposes the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI).
But Eric...Kevin Bacon cannot be casted in any role in the MCU...because he exist as an actor in that universe! Remember Guardians of the Galaxy
NoPeopleLand there is precedent for actors playing multiple characters in MCU
NoPeopleLand I wish Kevin Bacon played Star Lord's dad
I know, I know, it was just a joke. Though I don't know if any of them played themselves AND a fictional character.
Cap & Eric, wall fell with Regan "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" Come on, esp. with Eric and DKR
Mystique doesnt age as fast, like Wolverine, that's why Rebecca looks younger than Stewart in present time
The Berlin wall comes down in 1989

I suppose there had to be some one in the world who liked Iron Man 3 more than Winter Soldier...
Did he say Banshee had a SCOTTISH accent?
LE COMMENCEMENT
There's a 13 year age difference between Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence.
He's making Cap watch Prometheus? That's just mean...
Scottish Eric? He's the most silly Irish stereotype ever. He has a daughter named shamrock or something

The Mcu movies have been exausting so far, except Hulk
