You can use this to automatically calculate the current raw material stock as well as determining how many units of each product you can make using the raw materials available. We can input simple Bill of Materials (BOM) where we define how we can manufacture a products from its raw materials.
There are five sheets in the Excel template: 1) Home 2) Products 3) Raw Materials 4) BOM and 5) Orders

Hello Sir. If I want to see in parallel multiple products availability how can I do it ? I tried to copy row 4 and insert it below multiple times and delete from formula the "$" but is not working. Although I don't receive an answer many thanks for your file !! It's amazing :D

Hello sir. This is very helpful and well done ! It could be even better if you could make it following the cost of BOM used in every order. That means that we give in BOM the initial price per unit of row materials and then in every reorder of row material the new amount is added to the initial, and in every order that we produce a product the cost must calculated from the average price of the row materials.. thanks again

This sheet meets my needs perfectly. I saw in a previous comment (2years ago) you have not tested them with Google sheets. Is that still the case? I have tried to import it and most of it works great but some glitches that keeps me from using it correctly. is there any guidance you can give toward this end. Again this sheet is perfect for me but I will have to use it on Google. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the video... Please I have a fabrics factory, and employees that produce for me.. sometime they do bad job and no one will tell truth about who does the job. Now i want to assigned a default bar code that will reveal who does the job. how do i go about it?

so there is no tracking of costs for your raw material?
example:
making a "super orange smoothie" costs me:
$1.20 in "parts",
I sell for $4.00

the sheets have no monetary references?

I have purchased this spreadsheet and have entered products and raw materials but when I go to build manufacturing of products raw materials are not available as a drop down on that page nor are they available as a drop down on the order sheet so that I can select them. what am I doing wrong?

sir, what if the recipe/formula for a product has to be altered often as per requirement? Then where to change it so that it would be effective throughout the whole template.
In this template, each product can have only one recipe/BOM. For a new recipe, please use a new product entry and enter BOM details.

What if you have a few steps in the process - so if it goes from flour to dough to cookies for eg and I need to track how much dough I have at any point as well as how many cookies are available? So its a two step calculation... pl advise

Hello, for some reason our "Today's Availability Check" function doesnt work, any way that we can fix that? When we choose a product on the cell E4, nothing shows up in the cell F4 and it remains blank even if the call F4 has the formula written for it.

Is there a way to have multiple lot's/batches for each raw material and product?
Currently lots/batches are not tracked individually. Once the raw materials are purchased, they becomes part of the total inventory.

Yes, first you will have to create a manufacturing order to add the starting inventory.
Then enter the starting inventory of the Raw material equal to the negative quantity displayed.
Then add that starting inventory quantity with your current available raw material.

Hello one question, what if I have a firm orders, banana Berry Shake 4 and Apple banana Shake 2, since they both have the same raw material (banana) you have enough bananas to build 2 shakes, If I check on the report how many I can build for berry shake it will say 2 if I I select apple banana shake it will say 2, I go with the customers and tell them I can make 2 each and I have enough to fulfill their demand but truly I only make two total, when a FGs use same raw material how can I check how many pcs can o build considering each FG has its own demand??

@@indzara may I know if the share raw materials issue has been fixed. I love to buy your template if it let me spent less time on tracking raw materials. My products have a lot of share parts and will definitely run into the false projection that mentioned above.

However, I have the same question regarding one raw material being used for multiple products which can result in misleading calculation of availability of the raw material. In our premium version of the template, once the orders are added you will have the option to check what are the products that can be fulfilled using the available Raw Material is shown in the invoice sheet.
For example:
Product 1 uses RM 1 and RM 2
Product 2 uses RM 1 and RM 3
Order placed for Product 1 and Product 2 one after another and RM 1 is available only for Product 1, the template will let you know that you cannot fulfill the Product 2 order. Following is the link to the template for quick reference:

How can I modify it to include an extra step, ie I process 3 raw materials into a new material that is then, in essence, a raw material for the final product for sale. The inventories of raw materials, processed materials, and finished goods need to all be tracked

How would I trace all those manufactured selling items? Example, if will make pancakes with 1kg flour as main ingredient and that flour I can create let say 10 portions…but the system knows only by 1kg and the selling items by per pc so how the systems deduct the selling items to manufacturing?

what will be the unit of measure in BOM, not working properly because below the header unit of measure nothing appears.

The unit measurement in BOM must be same as the unit measure entered in Raw material sheet as starting inventory or Raw Material purchase order. It does not depends on the Unit measurement entered in BOM and it is just for reference.

I have downloaded the free template I believe but it seems to be view only?
It should not be read-only. Please save the file in a safe folder (sometimes files in Downloads folder can just open as read-only). Also, if you are not opening in a compatible Excel version, it could happen. Excel for Windows 2010 or above, and Excel for Mac 2016 should be compatible. Please let me know. Thanks.

You will have to input that order as two lines. same order number, order date and raw material. However, the expected date will be different. 1st line: 90 units Expected date : Next day date; 2nd line: 10 units Expected date: when you expect the remaining 10.
Expected Date is the date when the inventory reaches or leaves your location.

The formula is entered as an array formula. Please make sure that when you copy, it is an array formula.

The number of products that can be made and raw material available both are calculated from the BOM sheet. It is not calculated using a single formula.
The number of Products that can be made is the minimum Raw Material available quantity according to the units required.
Available Raw Material Now is the Starting Inventory + Purchase - Sum of Used Raw materials from BOM sheet.

Our template is not limited to the number of items to be configured in BOM to manufacture a product. You can manufacture a product with any number of items.
We use Excel tables for data entry. Hence please ensure whether the data is entered inside the table.

I managed to upload this file to Google. I entered my raw materials and list of products. In the BOM and ORDERS Sheet, the drop down says "loading". It's been 10 mins....and I refreshed the page...nothing :(
Please use in Microsoft Excel. The template is not designed for Google sheets.

I am unable to find solution for my business. I tried countif formula but not worked. I have an stock of accessories. Each accessories have unique number (Serial numbers), I want to count that on another page where I can see how many same items are available. Pls help me.

@@indzara would you be interested in building a simple inventory only template for me as paid job. Your current paid for inventory has many extra features we don’t want in it. I would need most of the $ side of things removed without messing up the other formulas. We really would like an inventory that removes all the sub components when the main product is built and put into inventory but not adjust them when it’s sold from the shelf. That’s all it needs to do

How can I manage my inventory in case we we buy spent mix solvents and send it for recovery to another and then get back recovered products like Isopropyl Alcohol, Methylene Chloride, Acetone etc, which we sale. Please help me to maintain stock of these items in excel.

To sell raw materials also, please enter the raw material name again in the Products sheet. then, for BOM, enter 1 unit of Raw material A makes 1 unit of Product A.
