That S2000 showed some amazing driving some really impressive cornering and braking, I could see a lot of confidence in the driving, the M4 driver, however, didn't seem as confident and it showed when braking in the corners, the M$ driver could probably have carried more speed in the corners.
The confidence probably came from the difference in value, put the Honda in the wall not too bad, put the M4 in the wall it’s a mortgage your paying back for a tin of beans

Pilot: Oh this? This is actually a pajamas, I forgot to wear a t-shirt for this race. Passenger: So you think me in a shirt with no helmet and gloves I’m okay for this? Pilot: For a race on the Nurburgring in a cabrio? Totally 👌
Probably about 6% (2800/180) of the vehicle weight, maybe less.....that said my point about the right left weight balance maybe negatively affected...or positively. It's impolite to ask "does it make that big of difference?"....it all adds up...and yes 180 lbs makes a huge difference IF and big IF one can drive the car with perfect tire squeal...
The BMW driver just doesn't know the track yet, i think. It takes many dozen laps to fully learn this track, it's not like some other short racetrack you can learn in 10 laps or so. So the BMW driver is driving cautiously in a faster car, and Xav_S2000 is driving all-out in a slower car with proper track knowledge.
Mike Miller you need to drink more water so you can learn the tracks easier!! 10 laps for laguna seca or this nordeschlief or anyone i think its too much!!!! XD
Yeah on straightline speed and double if not triple the cost. You can get a used S200 with high miles a lot of places for 10k still... The GTR belongs in the Supra, rx7, NSX, v12, v16 block.... of cars the average joe can't afford.
The full throttle, full lock drift @about 7:23, right after passing the BMW for the second time, was spectacular. And they were both like, so? Wanna go. Wanna go there. Wanna go to Germany...🙏
Shame BMW and other German cars are overrated crap. Honda has alot less power but is way better at handling and has much better balance on corners. Honda never intended the s2000 to be a BMW M rival but if they did it would have much more power and would totally destroy the BMW "M" cars at Nurburgring or on any other tracks
@@Th3_0_h8 those were the later versions, the ap2. America and Japan had those increased 2.2 (UK and others like received facelift ap1 -the 2.0l engine). The 2.2 was made to produce more power and torque, however lost a bit of revs up top. On the track, both engines are very similar, as the loss of power from the 1st gen engines make up for it with the few extra rpm, meaning staying longer in that lower gear...
This is a stock 240bhp AP1 2.0L - I own the same one, I can tell from the engine sound and gear shifting times its a stock s2k - if you want to know why a 240bhp car is able to beat the 420bhp bimmer I can explain
The M4 driver has an awful line, taking corners from the wrong side of the track or moving over last minute, M4 is only quicker in a straight line, because duh its got like 400bhp compared to the 240 in the S2000
Im a BMW driver but People don't realize how big a difference the driver makes. Money doesn't buy skill, skill comes from practice practice practice....

At 5:52 when he enters the corner a little hot and starts that tail happy S2k sliding, my man instinctively started to correct it then halfway through transferring the weight to correct the slide he decided to casually drift it on through the turn... AWESOME DRIVING 😎
I very rarely sit and watch a 9 minute RUclips video from start to finish but I did with yours. Very entertaining from start to finish and looked like a lot of fun!
Well, in Korea, we actually learn english from very young age. But for some shitty reason, that english education is not really useful when we actually have to communicate with english users like you guys. Sad thing, isn't it? So don't blame him. It's not his fault. It's a fault of the way how to teach a language of our country.
Ha...thinking the same thing. The passenger is just chillin there like he's going in a nice sunday drive, hardly any reactions. If it were me riding shotgun!? while riding along on that track id have been laughing/screaming my ass off at those speeds. Especially during the hard breaking & turns and especially the WOT on the starightaways with the slight inclines leading into near-blind-turns
No way is he a bad driver ,friend....go there( take it you have, not) he is going hard believe me, any lap close to 8 mins real time is mental fast for the ring, but the Honda guy is braver
Darren Lucas I agree with you, an 8 min lap at the Ring is mental. Hell, even a lap in the 9+ range is scary to be honest. The Ring is a really unique and scary place, can't compare to other tracks in the world and those who had only seen the track on RUclips or videogames can't figure how these tight corners, slopes and elevation changes look in real life. It's like a freaking roller coaster if you ask me. The track is narrow too, with portions of the pavement always moist (even in most summer days), so you can experience grip changes in a matter of a few metters, while in a braking point for example. Also, camber angle is a real bitch in some corners. Anyway, with all this, I still think the M4 driver is not great or he doesn't know the track well. It's not a matter of bravery IMHO. His lines are all over the place, he doesn't use properly the available track width, his technique is definetly not refined and it's clear that he relies too much on power. The S2k driver is much faster at every single corner while still being much more refined and delicated driving on the limit. To me, it's obvious that he has much more seat time not only at the Ring but any other track.
Well written.....I don't think you could say it much better, I just get a little miffed at times with all these comments about so called " bad" drivers by people that don't have a clue what the ring is like and I couldn't help myself that day to reply lol😂,hey ho. I went twice and my balls are,not big enough......it's like a trackday is a GCSE, the ring is a Master's degree....enough said.
Short wheel base, 50:50 weight dist., front-mid engine layout. High speed, cold weather, elevation change, passenger. Ran up on curbing mid drift, full lock, perfect recovery. One of the best real life amateur racing drifts I've ever seen.
That this car is really hard to drive at speeds like this. You can see, that the car is always trying to oversteer in the turn. S2000 is really deadly and it needs to have some skill to drive like this on the edge.
@@supertreme5559 No, the bmw driver was not a good driver, took the wrong lines and was braking where he shouldnt. Video should be called "S2000 vs slow driver in an M4"
Wow great driving! I've been owning and racing S2000s for over 15 years and I thought I can drive that car well.. But you have great skills! Awesome stuff man, respect!
+Gordon Clark The BMW did seem to have a very well tuned engine under the hood, but he was going really slow around the corners, as if he didn't have the traction to go faster. He might have been an all-season tires, they don't perform that well on a racetrack.
+Gordon Clark Well, to be fair, he wasn't THAT slow, he did after all do a lap almost as fast as the S2000 driver. :D He could also just have been overly cautious. But I think his main issue was lack of grip because of tires. Just my opinion, ofcourse, I could be wrong - but it would fit his behavior. But you're absolutely right, there's almost always something to consider that you might not know about just from watching a video of them.
+Xav_ S2000 Ah, good to hear I'm not just talking rubbish. :) On a sidenote: It looks like your upgrade have been centered around better grip and lighter weight, rather than more brawn from the engine. Which has the happy upside to it, that the engine doesn't have to be serviced nearly as often as a heavily tuned engine.
Wow this is one of the best video of the nürburgring here on youtube. The driver is so damn skilled and i absolutly love this car. The engine is a masterpiece
Different comfort level is reason of different speed in the corners. S2000 is roadster, like Z4. Absolutely different cars. S2000 is a little bigger than cart and no even normal trunk. But in BMW you can sit with your wife, dog, grandmaa, childrens in same time ang go whatever you want with this big company, and you will be a little bit slower that f@king sport ready roadster with no space and no comfort. Think about ths first.
@@nauvofact993 Nah, there's not enough space in the trunk. You need a wagon to do that. When you're talking about sportscars, family space doesn't matter. It's all about speed, agility through corners and fun.

Holy shit that was intense, this driver is ACE at getting the max from the S2000!!
That S2000 showed some amazing driving some really impressive cornering and braking, I could see a lot of confidence in the driving, the M4 driver, however, didn't seem as confident and it showed when braking in the corners, the M$ driver could probably have carried more speed in the corners.
The m4 is considerably heavier than an S2K and appears to be on stock tires. S2K is on semislicks essentially with a very fast driver.
The confidence probably came from the difference in value, put the Honda in the wall not too bad, put the M4 in the wall it’s a mortgage your paying back for a tin of beans

One of the best S2000 drivings I've ever seen... Congrats, you have some serious balls mate! Keep Driving like that!
Passenger: I don’t know about this mate, I don’t have an helmet, I don’t think it’s safe.
Pilot: But you don’t need an helmet, at all.
Passenger: So why you have an helmet?
Pilot: Mosquitos, very annoying.
Passenger: And why you have gloves?
Pilot: Cold hands, since I was a kid.
Passenger: ... I don’t know... Why do you have a full sweater on, almost looks like a suit?
Pilot: Oh this? This is actually a pajamas, I forgot to wear a t-shirt for this race.
Passenger: So you think me in a shirt with no helmet and gloves I’m okay for this?
Pilot: For a race on the Nurburgring in a cabrio? Totally 👌
OMG! You killed me lol :D
Passenger: And with no seat belt? Am I fine still?
WTF?
Lmao 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
The S2K sounds great, love the driving.
Imagine that same run but without the extra weight in the passenger seat.
Thinking the same thing
nah throws the left / right off balance...this driver is PRECISE!! ahahhaha
does it make that big of a difference?
Probably about 6% (2800/180) of the vehicle weight, maybe less.....that said my point about the right left weight balance maybe negatively affected...or positively. It's impolite to ask "does it make that big of difference?"....it all adds up...and yes 180 lbs makes a huge difference IF and big IF one can drive the car with perfect tire squeal...
I dont see how that is impolite, its simply curiosity.
Une S2000 qui mène la vie dure à une M4 ! Bravo au pilote Honda je suis fan !!! Super vidéo on a l'impression d'y être !! 👍💪👏

Idd right 😃
Nope. Honda is simply superior in every way.
Mike Miller you need to drink more water so you can learn the tracks easier!! 10 laps for laguna seca or this nordeschlief or anyone i think its too much!!!! XD

Shame the m4 driver didn't have the skills at the turnings.
Shame BMW and other German cars are overrated crap. Honda has alot less power but
is way better at handling and has much better balance on corners.

Well, in Korea, we actually learn english from very young age. But for some shitty reason, that english education is not really useful when we actually have to communicate with english users like you guys. Sad thing, isn't it? So don't blame him. It's not his fault. It's a fault of the way how to teach a language of our country.

He doesn't seem to use seatbelts too...
Magnificent driving, truly superb, wish I could drive my S2000 like that!
That’s what the S2000 is capable of behind good hands👏🏻👏🏻Well done mate great driving skills
The GTR with AWD says: "get out of the way". 😂😂😂
This S2000 was tuned for sure! And the guy on M4 is a bad driver!
Always learning breaking too early
GTR is a dull dull car, if the honda had the same power, or even a 100 more, he would've taken the GTR
I went twice and my balls are,not big enough......it's like a trackday is a GCSE, the ring is a Master's degree....enough said.

what do you mean? non car fanatic here just wondering
That this car is really hard to drive at speeds like this. You can see, that the car is always trying to oversteer in the turn. S2000 is really deadly and it needs to have some skill to drive like this on the edge.

+Gordon Clark
The BMW did seem to have a very well tuned engine under the hood, but he was going really slow around the corners, as if he didn't have the traction to go faster.
He might have been an all-season tires, they don't perform that well on a racetrack.
+Grumpy ol' Boot Thanks for the explanation. There is always an explanation that needs to be considered.
+Gordon Clark
Well, to be fair, he wasn't THAT slow, he did after all do a lap almost as fast as the S2000 driver. :D
He could also just have been overly cautious.
But I think his main issue was lack of grip because of tires.
Just my opinion, ofcourse, I could be wrong - but it would fit his behavior.
But you're absolutely right, there's almost always something to consider that you might not know about just from watching a video of them.
+Grumpy ol' Boot You are right. The tires of the M4 are less efficient than mine. This degrades the speed cornering and braking distances.
+Xav_ S2000
Ah, good to hear I'm not just talking rubbish. :)
On a sidenote:
It looks like your upgrade have been centered around better grip and lighter weight, rather than more brawn from the engine.
Which has the happy upside to it, that the engine doesn't have to be serviced nearly as often as a heavily tuned engine.
that counter steer at 7:19!

Lmao that's not an R32.
Anyways, did you see how much faster the S2000 was in the corners?
