if i won lotto i wouldnt be buying a ferrari. id go for a nice done up altezza, or rx7, or silvia, or skyline, or maybe even an integra, or levin, or mr2. something small with a lot of aftermarket parts and power etc. only for track racing though. id keep a nice car. maybe a stock altezza or bmw for commuting. pfft. ferrari, lambo, nah.
It can buy a dedicated second car stripped out with sticky tyres though. The car in front I thought took better lines. Weight and tyres are everything.
This is the best combination : lightweight dc2 chassis, k20 engine and short gears.. Perfect track monster. Great driving of course. What an amazing range of cars: itr, sti, gtr, s15, nice mx5.. Nurburgring was full of jdms these day. :)))
Everything about this was amazing. The narrow overtake at around 5:14 was amazing, the skills of these two drivers is insane and that finish where both cars ride of into the sunset was just perfect.

That Ferrari (F458?) was a little butthurt - he initially wasn't going to move over for "mere' Hondas and Subarus, then realised he didn't have the talent to make the most of his car
pauljh74 It's a 430 Scuderia...a very fast car for track, if he's good he could've pulled away from them easily but didn't have the balls & talent to nail it.
He definitely didn't have the skills to push it in the corners. Instead of showing off to the Subaru and Honda, he played it safe and probably made a very wise (read save him some expense) decision.

Driver had to remove the rear seats but it had nothing to do with weight reduction. Without the extra free space there was just no way a pair of balls that big was going to fit in that car. Nice driving man! 👍

That was me in the rx8 pz on the right of the carrousel. The first time i watched the video i was thinkin whos that guy pussing out driving the rx8 like mine... Then i realised it was me that was the lap i almost run out of feul, i thought best not bounce it round the carrousel so backed of next thing i hear scream by is the gtr, ferrari, scooby and the teg. I wish i had pushed it a little more the rx8 is quick in that section of track as it all about momentum and not power... Would have been good to watch, probably not worth having to get recoverd for tho.

Maybe the lotus was blocking him in every corner and he was frustrated... It's not always about the car, the driver as a really big influence, especially on a circuit like the nordschleife... And if that "piece of shit" is a GTI-6, it's much faster than you might think.

Also check Danny's driver side mirror as he moves back into the middle of the track, you see the Peugeot but not the lotus because the peugeot has overtaken. The only reason the Peugeot was hesitant was because he was being overtaken in a stupid position. Subaru and Danny at fault here 100%

That some beautiful skills you've got there. I don't really appreciate when people say that FWD are not competitive. While it's true that it could be less balanced, can't 0-60 as fast inherently ... It is much more manageable and can be driven agressively more often. See, that Ferrarri on the circuit was afraid to lose control over his precious FR vehicle while you could hammer it like there's no tomorrow. That's the beauty of FWD.

There could have been a small amount of luck involved there though, I wouldn't advise doing things that could potentially endanger others. Impressive cars and drivers.

Don't know if you can all that a real beating. Subaru was clearly faster, but I think the Acura driver was a little better. With no turbo, he was driving his ass off. I have an Impreza coupe but I gotta take my hat off to the Acura driver. Not only can he drive, but he knows his car..what it can do and what it can't. If the drivers switched cars, it would be a much larger gap between the two.

It has been 6yrs since I last drove my King Motorsports built '01 spec B18c5 w/Mugen Gymkahna spec manifold. I had it in a '92 GSR(DB2 chassis) w/ power steering and AC removed. Guys at King Motorsports(The Mugen Dealer) claimed it would blow the doors off a stock R-spec DC2. That car still got 30+mpg in town w/11.6:1 compression. Better mileage than the stock B17a1.
I've always been a Nissan guy and I've owned a R33 and a few S13's with SR20det and RB26det swaps but I have to admit, I admire Honda's for being able to pump so much horsepower out of such a small Naturally Aspirated engine, anyone can easily make crazy horsepower with a big turbo set up, but making that much horsepower naturally Aspirated is a whole other level... The Type R's and the S2000's are incredible for that...

Shorter gear is good for acceleration. But sacrifice the top end unless you have an additional gear.

I've always been a Nissan guy and I've owned a R33 and a few S13's with SR20det and RB26det swaps but I have to admit, I admire Honda's for being able to pump so much horsepower out of such a small Naturally Aspirated engine, anyone can easily make crazy horsepower with a big turbo set up, but making that much horsepower naturally Aspirated is a whole other level... The Type R's and the S2000's are incredible for that...

Imo the DMV is has the worst drivers in the country, I feel your pain. I never had road rage until I moved to the suburbs of Baltimore. Rolling road blocks with left lane campers and cops sitting on the major arteries causing slowdowns.

Terrence Francis low powered awd drive cars like this with sticky tires are very dangerous. Once you start adding tons of power with with no aero they start to understeer a lot.
