This is what true remorse looks like. He has taken full responsibility for his actions and has also done everything he can to educate others. I have a lot of respect for this young man.

@@GrandMasterKai As he said, his sentence is living with what he did. He could sit in a prison cell with that, or he could use his experiences to try and help others.

I've been in cars with drunk drivers before. I knew they weren't fit to drive but I didn't really care because I was drunk.

Agreed, but at least he turned his life around, some people with the same type of childhood and growth would spiral down and always go to worse. So the worst scenario led him to a change in the right direction. But actions have consequences, and he will carry that pain and sorrow for the rest of his life to remind him what choices can do
I don't think it's fair to say, "Sad it took the death of his best friend for him to turn his life around." People have no clue what it would be like if he hadn't lost his best friend. He could have changed his life around over less extreme events. I don't think it's fair to assume that in an alternate reality, he would have never improved without such a dire event to shape him.
I mean the consequences of drink driving take an entire life.
Addiction is not an easy disease to cope with so unfortunately, the situations that occur are devastating. Some people never wake up despite the awful consequences bc I know someone who killed his best friend drunk driving yet he continues to drink & drive.
unfortunately many addicts have to hit absolute rock bottom before they realize they need to turn their lives around.
His level of sincerity, regret, loss and pain are heartbreaking. Never watched one as real on video like this young gentleman. My heart pours for him. God bless your heart

I really think that Reefer would be happy in heaven if Rocco does not suffer his whole life instead he would wish that he forgive himself and get happy for his children and live with Reefer inside his heart a good life with happy moments. After this life the two soulmates will embrace each other again and will discuss what Rocco have learnt after his death. We are endless souls.
His remorse is crystal clear. I can`t help but feel that he too was a victim, given the awful circumstances he was raised in, something like this was almost inevitable. I really hope he can find some peace, he deserves it. I`m sure he has made a difference in this world, sharing his story and educating other youngsters. Love and light to you Jason.

Plenty of people grow up like that. I did. We don't end up druggies getting wasted and crashing cars and killing our mates. It's not an excuse or a justification. He had a choice and he made it, that's on him.

My little brother was killed aged 17 in a drink drive accident, his friend who was driving survived. I pray this kid has forgiven himself where ever his now. And you too must forgive yourself. Thankyou for sharing your story ❤

Jason - you’re not a bad person. we’re all one mistake awake from being in your situation. I was a teenage addict and this hit so hard. you’re incredible. 18 is too young to carry this. you’re worthy of living life.
This is one of the most raw and hard hitting interviews I’ve seen from this channel.
Jason, If you ever read this brother, these are my words for you -
Embrace the emotions you feel. They do not hinder your message. In fact it is what makes your message resonate & worth sharing. Your genuine display of emotion is what makes it all real.
And after all you’ve gone through, you’ve made it out the other side of the tunnel & used your past hardships to ultimately do good. I have no doubt Reefer is looking down on you with a smile on his face and a gentle hand on your shoulder, letting you know he loves you and is proud of you, and that one day you and your best friend will be reunited in a better world to come.

This one gives you real feeling of loss for the guy- He feels the greatness that he can bring from his loss.
I felt his pain with every bit of his body trying to hold everything in and together. He is still in emotional distress. Free of alcohol and drugs and prison but he is left with his own thoughts and memories of his best friend and it’s evident it’s laced with guilt. I hope he finds peace inside his mind . ❤
The honesty and pain expressed had me in tears. I work with children who are vulnerable and it doesn't take a whole lot for children and teenagers to get caught up with drugs. God bless this guy for his commitment to incredibly important work.

Another thing that really stuck with me was their ability to openly say that they loved each other platonically, while living in a very much depressing and loveless environment.

OK then.. I had a 'decillions to one' event of misfortune in the Euromillions lottery in 2014. Most impossible event that's ever happened on Earth, has happened to ME...
So the man from my town who I gave my cat's other 2 kittens to 7 years earlier 'Neil Trotter' somehow won the 3rd highest ever Euromillions jackpot of £108 million in March 2014. Obviously I wanted to finally contact him about my cats when I found out about this. I've been wondering about them ever since I gave him them..This unusual occurrence and this connection I have to him made me take interest in playing the same lottery myself, to see if I could win it as well..
About 6 weeks later I came up with my new perfect lottery line. On the cursed day of May 2nd I did not put them down though. It is a long story, but basically there wasn't a pen for me at the picking station to do what I wanted to do in the very end, so I bought Lucky Dips instead of retrieving a pen to put my numbers down. ALL of my numbers then came up in the draw. Jackpot was up to £72 million. Someone else in the country had all of my numbers and took the whole jackpot that we should've shared. Throwing away not just £36 million and 2 Euromillions winners in a row from the same town as e/o, but who share cats with e/o as well, which is beyond impossible. My life instantly ended at this moment. Life has been the most fucked up, warped nightmare anyone has ever had. I had a stroke about a year later which has further ruined my life. Before the stroke, I was one of the most skilled video game players in the world, with loads of WR's for them..
It is a long, complicated story my story. I should probably be interviewed by Unilad about it, so it can finally get out to the public. See, the other interesting thing, is that I was actually the 'Easter Day Unilad' of 2017 with the amazing video that I sent into them about 6 months earlier, of my 'Trials Evolution Sphere' world record that I recorded about 6 months before Trotter won the lottery, and who now lives in a fucking castle, with a massive lake etc that he does NOT deseerve to have. It's NOT fair, or right. That video I sent to Unilad got millions of views on Facebook and Instagram which is very cool, and could be the best video game video they've been sent. Maybe this factor about me will make them want to interview me about the main story about me and the lottery? The original video I sent to them is here if you want to watch it btw...

My eyes filled up with tears listening to this young mans story. The loss he has experienced is one that could have easily made him go deeper into despair, but luckily he has been able to turn himself around. It's a shame he had to go through such a troubled childhood and made some poor choices to have to come out the other side. Your remorse is heart felt and I'm sure your friend would have wanted you to live your life to the fullest.

Thank you for sharing. No kid deserves that kind of unpredictable environment to grow up in. After experiencing an event like this, one would do anything to take it back. But life does not work like that, and like you said, one of the things you can do is spread awareness and try to help the kids so they would not have to struggle with drugs or unsafe conditions like you and your friend did. Wow. Honestly, just wow. I think this has been the hardest one for me to watch. You can feel just how raw all of these emotions still are for him, how much he sincerely regrets his actions and how he still hasn't found the ability to forgive himself. He lost one of his true loves in this life and someone l, who especially with all he had been through growing up, meant the world to him. As a young lad myself now (mid20’s), I feel you lots on this my man. I’ve lost heaps of mates to drugs and prison and honestly it ruined us all, we still struggle with mental health everyday and only a few of my mates got out of that lifestyle. love that u spread the message and myself I’ve made similar mistakes, not to the extent of death (thankfully) but I feel what u mean. I watch a lot of these videos and this by far is the most impactful, you can genuinely see the hurt in his face and hear it in his voice. I'm not saying what he did was ok but he has most certainly come out the other side of this with the right way of looking at things. you can see he doesn't like to show his emotions but the fact he couldn't hold it back just shows how much he really does feel remorse and cared for his buddy which is extremely impactful. The best people in life can accept responsibility and look to work and improve on the cards they are dealt instead of sitting around mopping he has done all he can to educate others and for that I have the upmost respect for this man! keep your head up buddy, keep doing what you're doing and as you said things will most certainly get better! In 4 days it'll mark a month that my dad was hit by a drunk driver. I wish the driver showed as much remorse.. it was his 3rd DUI and he was driving without a license. The pain of my father being taken away has been so difficult, confusing, surreal, like a cruel joke.. Drunk driving is never worth it. RIP dad, I love you so much. I'm sad I couldn't see you this Christmas. I was so looking forward to it.

Maybe look up what the ACE score is and see the major link between a high ACE score and low quality of life. It's literally the main system psychologist use to determine the outcome of people's life, from illness to crime and marriage. The higher your score the more likely you are to have a low quality of life.

I've felt alone all my life, had some pretty bad shit as a kid (mum and step dad died of drugs). Thought that becoming a soldier would help make me stronger ..it did but didn't take away how I felt. I spend most of my days by self now still thinking the same.

Thank you for your story. You may not have been able to prevent your friend losing their life but Reefer has saved your life and changed the direction that you are now heading.
