She commented on another reactor's page that she had the mic for a while, so she had learned how to pull away from it for effects, the rest of what you posted is spot on tho....
This never was(sorry, can't even call her a has been) seems butter, Laney got a contract from making this video, and I'm sure whoever signed it, wasn't just a bitter ex dj who thinks anyone cares about her criticism, she admitted she had to work to sound easy, Laney did this, sitting Indian style on her bed in her college dorm room effortlessly.
She is 21 years old, after this song went viral she signed a management deal with Jonas Group Entertainment and a label deal with Republic Records. She just released a new cover song a few days ago " Hell on Heels" absolutely amazing.
I love her singing and she does “Hell on Heels” so well!!! ❤️

I know this is already months old, but in this if you stopped interrupting the clip and listen out right you'd get a better appreciation of Lanie's voice style, in Steve Nicks version there are backing vocals, Lanie doesn't need it her timing and voice carry with conviction, this is pretty well spot on...;)
Lanie in my opinion sang it better then Stevie. Her voice is something else. I listen to this by her many times. Never get sick of it. I was not appreciated that the host was critiquing it like she's an expert or sing it better.

Her voice is perfect her version of this song is in mine and many other people's opinion better than the original. Obviously you have your right to your opinion but that little affectation in her voice that you bashed is part of the charm of her sound.

I have listened to some of her own song with only her and a guitar. She has a great personality there, and voice. This song of course is with a very good mic and some post production. The sound here is perfect
She record that song herself! As to the good microphone, that is no sin. Most of current singers have studios a sound laboratories to modify their voices, thing that she doesn't need. Also about this good microphone, her grandfather was a musician and so was her father!!!
This is 2024 now. She did say in a more recent interview she recorded this at home during covid. Hadn't posted anything in a while, and just did it for fun. None of her previous videos had any significant views and had she known it would blow up, she would not have worn a sports bra, tie-dyed sweatpants and no makeup. In the days that followed, she received messages from 25 record labels and Mick Fleetwood himself.

I am planning on moving to southern Florida this Fall if all goes well with my surgery and I would love for Lannie and her family to come to southern Florida for some time off and go fishing with me. I grew up down there and I know the good fishing and camping spots. Plus the last time I was down there I was throwing my cast net from my boat near a dock and I didn't recognize the person sitting in a chair on the dock. After I threw my net and caught a bunch of fish I thought about who the main was. He was one of Country Music's all time favorite singers. I asked him if he wanted some fish for dinner and Allen Jackson said No I'm good - and I've got to leave for Nashville that night. I said OK Allen if I see you out here on the dock next time I might have a smoked mullet for you. He laughed and asked me how I knew it was him ? I said well you can tuck your hair under your captain's hat all you want to but you can't change your face. He was a cool guy to talk to as an every day kinda meeting like that.

I took vocal lessons for years from a college music professor so I know more than the average person about vocals.

I like that LG doesn't try to overpower the song. And she adds emotion with her voice. Too often those with good voices just go full Michael Bolton on every song just to try to show off their voice, rather than have the focus be on the song itself.
I was listening to Katie Lowe cover version of Dreams with DØVYDAS and this Lanie caught my attention in the feed area.. well.. I am also heard FleetWood since the 80"s and these girls are killing it. Good luck to them both.
The so called "acrobatics" is subtle, flows properly and in fact applicable in this song. For an entertainer playing (connecting ) with the audience and the camera appears to be a foreign concept for you which you really should address. Playing to the audience and the camera is not being "full of herself", It is a necessity in the entertainment business. That may be a personal issue you should investigate. Everyone has their own opinion. Everyone that listens to her first five seconds singing is blown away. You should hear her cover of "Hell On Heels."

Personally, I think it's a phenomenal cover and I disagree about the full of herself part. It seemed very casual and nonchalant even though she just sat down with some cranberry juice and crushed it in one take. And, I like that she clearly loves the song and was having fun singing it.
Found this and listened to it a while ago....Best version of this song ever bar none....Lanie is blessed with the voice and looks of an angel....absolutely beautiful could listen to her all day. This review🤔hmmm not so much....how can you criticize PERFECT??.

The vocal gymnastics were very subtle so she pulls it off… you barely even notice…now if I was a professional voice analyst or some shit , I might have heard a note change or two also… guess what.. random you tubers don’t care about vocal gymnastics … if the song flows and her voice is awesome then people will listen and buy her music… works for everybody 🤟

Seems like you're paying more attention how you would like to perform it and how you would like to see and hear it done versus understanding the way she's doing it
If you want something else to listen to by Lanie, Hell on Heels is another knock it out of the park effort. Other Fleetwood Mac efforts fall short mostly because she attempt to accompany herself instead of relying on Lindsay Buckingham and the rest of the band to back her up.
If you haven't heard Allison Young and Josh Turner singing Fever by Peggy Lee, you're are absolutely missing out. I think you would absolutely love this song and honestly most of her work. She's got the 30's-40's voice perfectly.

Too many singers try to carbon copy a cover with perfection & miss.
Those tiny quirks that you dislike are what draws in 42 million views.
She carbon copies 90% of Stevie’s take but she adds her own voice,, her own accent to it.
Sometimes it doesn’t work but in this case it adds to it.
Again, she’s very young, probably not decades worth of touring & experience.
She has soul & presence to the mix.
She sorta reminds me of the Philippine singer for journey, Ariel.
They have this uncanny skill to almost photocopy a cover song but add souls & their own accent to the mix.
Again, another homer in singer.
