I'm a 68 year old hard core fan of Fleetwood Mac and as much as I adored Stevie Nicks, Ms Lanie sings it better.

the voice enhancing technology that is being used here did not exist in the mid 70s when nicks recorded her version, there is another vid of this girl singing this song live without any enhancements, the difference is very revealing
@@-The-Mon .. I seen that video and it was recorded when she was about 15, I choose to believe that her practice (5 years worth) made her what she sang that day. She did not use auto-tune.

She recorded this at her college apartment October 2020 while sitting on her bed. She has top quality equipment as you see by what she is using. Lot of people thought the mic enhanced her voice, but her mother replied to everyone saying it is 100% Lanie. She recorded this and sent it to her family who were also blown away by her version, even though they know how good she is. Ten days after this video was released by her, the Jonas Brothers father signed her up and she got a record deal.

I read somewhere in all these reaction video comments that Mic Fleetwood contacted her after hearing her cover. He told her how good it was. He put her in contact with Kevin Jonas who signed on as her manager. Lanie said she was contacted by lots of people, but Kevin was the only one she knew of.

If you do enough research, you'll find Lanie's own testimony and that of her mother. Even one of her housing mates who witnessed the recording. Lanie and her mic, her dorm bed (which her Mom gigged her on because it wasn't made up), relaxed in her PJs, singing her version of Stevie Nick's song. She did 2 recordings that day. She discarded the first because she muffed some words. She recorded the second and nailed it. Mic Fleetwood called her about 10 days later. Mic told her how good her version was. Put her in touch with Kevin Jonas who signed on as her manager.
When we were young we were all in love with Stevie Nicks and this song.

This is 100% lanie gardner she did a video when she received that mic .she has a BEAUTIFUL voice.and EVERYTHING she sings is spot on. Truly gifted.she put her own little spin on that song. I think Fleetwood mac contacted her immediately !

The cranberry juice at the beginning alludes to a viral video of a guy on skateboard mouthing the words to Dreams while riding a skateboard and drinking cranberry juice. Lanie’s version is incredible. I can’t stop listening. That said, Stevie’s version is simpler, with less reverb, etc so her true voice comes through cleaner IMHO. Love Lanie’s old school vocals verses the breathy / scratchy sound of the majority of today’s female pop vocalists.
She's from Burnsville, NC in the western most mountains. She is FOR REAL! I live here in Burnsville and we are proud. Love Fleetwood Mac and Lanie hits it out of the mountains. Just pull up her music on You Tube.

I’m 54 and remember the Fleetwood Mac version but Lanie does such a good job on this. Song it makes me like the song more.
I was on a tour bus many years ago and a young girl got up to sing. She picked up that mic and what came out of her mouth sounded like she was in a professional studio. I guess some people have that kind of voice and it just comes very natural to them. I just hope she doesn't get overwhelmed and ends up burned out by all the attention and demands on her time.
I don't know how anyone, let alone 8 people can give her a thumbs down. Lanie is amazing. I found her a few days ago, which is actually how I found this page. She's a superstar in the making!

Mic Fleetwood heard this cover and himself said she crushed it, he liked it so much he dm's lanie and has publicly said she can sing with Fleetwood mac anytime she wants to. Stevie nicks actually said that is extremely amazing and was very positive and humbled because its the closest anyone has ever come to sounding like the original. I wore out that album on 8 tracks, vinyl and cassettes back in the day.

@@orourke1972 yes, Joe Jonas is her manager. Even with the record deal and doing opening acts for the Jonas brothers, she remained real about herself and now she is also in college in Tennessee.

My cousin has been to over 40 concerts Fleetwood Mac, and Stevie Nicks!!! When I sent him this video, he blew up, he could not believe how amazing she sounds!!! I personally closed my eyes and listened to Fleetwood Mac, and then to Lanie Gardner I can not hear any difference, except that Lanie actually sounds better. I understand that she is now signed with the Jonas Brothers, and opening for them along with Miranda Lambert. Go Girl, and she’s Beautiful on top of that Amazing Voice!!! ❤❤❤❤❤

I have a 17 year old daughter who has written her own song, played all the instruments and has had it recorded in a studio, and without being biased, she is amazing. This girl is just the same, every so often a voice appears from nowhere and shocks us all. An amazing talent, and like this better than the original. Her life story also has not gone without its problems, so this is raw talent at its best

She killed this song, her tone range and pitch. Ther are spot on her control is impressive. She was actually managed by the Jonas brothers' dad. He has been on tour with the Jonas Brother as well. She also started her own lable as well. She did this video in one tack. Which is not an easy to one tack. She is definitely going places. You can check out all her other songs. they are just as good as this one. She does another Fleetwood Mac song, but I forgot which one. Ther is another girl you should check out. Courtney Hadwin. She was on America's Got Talent, typing America's got talent Courtney Hadwin and the Strocks you will see her sing just like Janis Joplin Peice Of My Heart she songs just like Janis Joplin if she brought back to life. 67 year old guitar player. Lanie is the real deal, gifted,gifted. As far as the sound, what you can do in your bedroom or anywhere else for that matter is remarkable.
With the software out there that is affordable and with a with a good mic, studio quality recordings are possible. Sound fidelity aside, her voice is special.
The first time I watched her sing this I thought she was lip syncing at first because I thought she couldn't be that good. When I quickly realized she wasn't I was blown away.

Old school Fleetwood Mac here. I heard Lanie sing this when she first came out. There are a few areas where she adds a personal touch otherwise this is fantastic.

Bought Fleetwood Mac "RUMORS" album March 25, 1977. Been lifelong fan and while I would listen to Stevie Nicks among the top 20 albums I ever heard, Lanie Gardner's version of the song "Dreams" is easily as Great as the Stevie Nicks performance when I heard it the first time. Now past 60 years old I can happily say and see the new blood of an effervescent and thriving Young Artist In Lanie Gardner with as much promise as Stevie Nicks if she remains wise and dedicated to her craft!!!
