Lanie is clearly cut from a different cloth. Like this version ALOT. I’ve listened to it a lot, too. I like the original more but that’s just my preference. Original versions are just more impressionable to me, because they are after all, the first time hearing. She absolutely crushed this though, I would like to hear it live, is that available?

I'm still struggling to believe that it was recorded live or there is a ton of production added afterwards. I know recording plug ins can be added into a live feed and her voice is amazing like truly amazing but it still sounds processed.

She did it in two takes not one. The first take she messed up the words and had to start over. But she nailed it on number 2. She recorded it in her college dorm room with her roommate.
This version in my opinion is as good or better than the original. Very smooth and the Ocean Spray Cranberry juice was a nod to the skateboarder who released a video while surfing along a California boardwalk while drinking the same. Just to get you up to date.
Best eating crow reaction ever at the beginning. I just heard her yesterday and she blew me away. 60 year old drummer and lifetime Fleetwood Mac fanboy. The sound may be tweaked but her inflection and camera interaction is awesome.

No one has proved this to be true. Even Lanie herself hasn't confirmed it's a live take. She's moving around a lot but the sound is so stable. Pop filters are there to give you a guide on how close to get to the mic. Lanie moves way to much for it to be a live take.

FWIW, this was a live take, one time through, in a college dorm room. Sure there are effects, namely reverb and compression; but that's all her.

Stevie Nicks was the Original and was Magnificent, as she was with every Song she sang. But Lanie is an untrained, very young Singer. She made a huge impression on everyone who heard her and rightfully so. I love her voice and her totally natural way of being. This is a Country Singer at heart who sings from her heart. No make up needed... This is an All American Girl. Wish her well!

Nobody said that Lanie is better than Stevie, even Lanie said that. She is just covering the song, and does it well. Just appreciate it for what it is and don't be so defensive about it. Lanie has written her own songs that she will be releasing soon from what I hear. Even Nick Fleetwood has spoken to her and let her know that she sounded amazing.

Thanks for listening to this. I knew you'd like it. She does a nice acoustic version of Rhiannon. She recently released her first single which is a country tune called Better Luck Next Guy. She also did a nice cover of Hell on Heels. She has written a lot of songs in preparation for an album. She's only 22 or 23 years old and has lots of raw talent. She is now living in Nashville and is managed by the father of thr Jonas brothers and has a chance to be successful if the music industry dosn't eat her up. By the way I love Fleetwood Mac as well but I have never heard a better cover of Dreams than this one and as you know there are lots of covers of this great song. By the way both Laine and her mother claim she recorded this while sitting on her unmade bed in her collage dorm room.

I saw this when it first came out. She had only recently acquired that mic and she did record this sitting in her pajamas on her bed in her dorm to a music track. Mick Fleetwood has even contacted her voicing his approval

The goal isn't to replace the original. The goal is to give a great, heartfelt performance of a great song. No need to compare to the original. Those that do are missing the point completely, IMHO.

I've been moved to watch all of the react videos--professional musicians, voice coaches, rappers, old guys, country guys, Fleetwood Mac fans, and they all have the same reaction: what? (But take a look at IMY2's version.)
I'm not saying she hasn't practiced, but with that taken into account, I watched it 3 times to actually see if it was for real, the vocals line up exactly right even when she's smiles.

Great voice but I am just of the school that Fleetwood Mac / Stevie Nicks songs just probably should not be covered . They magic they produced just cannot be replicated and the original will always , always be the first choice and only choice . That said this young lady has enormous talent and sang her heart out . She did not ruin the song for me by any means and that says a lot because covers can often do that and she did not. Just would love to hear original material by Lani with that voice she has been gifted.
She did a great job. I will give her one thing over Stevie. Stevie is very nasally. Lanie is not. I do not enjoy the nasally tone. Also, this is not studio enhanced, however that Mic does have some filters and other effects built into it. This young lady has talent. Of course she is not Fleetwood Mac. She was not pretending to be.
