I hope this observation on how she sings helps you figure out how the voice works better, so you can learn how to make smart choices in your own voice.

no clue who u re but the video seems cool
I promise you 110% this is exactly what she sounds like. I used to live a few doors down from her in the dorms! She’s AMAZING!
I actually prefer Lanie over Stevie. She’s so refreshing. Love her voice sooo much! It IS her voice.
I, too, record myself singing on my bed in athleisure-wear, and those recordings will stay hidden forever, as God intended.
This was confirmed by Lanie this is a live performance with just some compression and reverb obviously, she just sounds that good.
I understand your preferring the Stevie version but most of us like the different phrasing and timing, emphasis etc. she used in this version. She truly made it her own.
She has over 32 million views of this cover. I highly doubt she cares one bit about any criticism you may have.😂
You can critique her voice all you want. It's not just about the voice, it's about all around music and voice put together. My opinion she did a hell of a job regardless if she used Reverb or not. Her voice just makes you want to listen to more!! There's a lot of people that can sing. But to have that catchy voice that makes people want to listen more is what separates you from just another singer. Which sadly not every singer has.
This IS a studio recording so she is using the studio as her instrument. If she were singing outdoors a Shure 58 and different vocal production would be in order. If you want Pavarotti to sound good in a studio you close mic him with a U87 and have him sing down but outdoors a U87 won't work, a Shure 58 would. Two different animals, studio recording and live or concert recording, you should know this!
I think her mom would tell you differently.
I know it’s his job to point out all the little things she does wrong or could do better on but I think she sounds wonderful. I bet he would find fault with Elvis & tell him to keep driving a truck.
I am glad she is able to use her talent to her advantage. I will not say anything against her singing. Keep going Lanie.
There are quite a few acoustic songs on Lanie's page. She is outstanding!
Half the singers today wouldn't have a chance without processing,
Everyone that listens to her first five seconds singing is blown away. You should hear her "Hell On Heels."
I would love to hear this completely live with no microphone. She seems to have a BEAUTIFUL voice 🥰
Mike Fleetwood signed her up and this is the best ever cover version I have ever heard fact
Bottom line, processed or not, she put out a tune, I enjoyed listening to it, I was entertained for a few minutes, I call that mission accomplished
Finally, a reaction video where the person actually gives great, informative feedback. Excellent critique! Well done!!!
She got a recording contract because of this cover.
